hey alice,
ARE YOU OKAY? YOU LOOK PRETTY LOW, VERY HANDSOME AWKWARD.

MEET ALICE MARY KWOK. so, meet miss alice. got the wonderland jokes out of your system? good, now let's continue. this twenty-two-year-old girl is currently in college, getting her degree in psychology, and hates being called ally, ali, allison, or anything other than her first name. she's alice and that's that. her secret is that she's a replacement child for her six-year-old sister who died of meningitis the year prior to alice's birth; her parents had such a hard time letting go that they even gave alice her sister's first name as her middle. she's gone through life feeling as though she was supposed to be just like mary, as it seemed to be what everyone expected. when her beginner cello classes at the age of five proved she wasn't going to be the next yo-yo ma, the kwoks shook their heads, muttering 'of course, she's not like mary'. and when her first grade teacher came to congratulate her parents on what a bright, intelligent daughter they had, the conversation at dinner that night revolved around a comparison of mary and alice's accomplishments. and later, in her early teens, when alice started wanting to go out at night and have trendier clothes, the discussions always ended with 'mary would have never acted like this!'. despite constantly feeling second-rate, and vehemently disliking her parents for making it so, alice isn't as rebellious as one might think. sure, she's majoring in psychology instead of being a doctor like mummy and daddy wanted (and the more she studies, the less she likes what goes on inside her head, and the less she dwells on it), and she makes it a point to smoke around their frowning faces, because the money for that and many other things comes from her part-time job, not their bank account.

AS FOR FRIENDS, alice is not a social butterfly, and she'd rather have a couple of friends she could trust with her life than dozens of drinking or partying buddies. she's not the most extroverted person out there, and she's not very talkative either, so persistence is needed for those trying to strike up a friendship. she also shares little about her home life, preferring to mention tidbits of her daily life as a student and worker. that said, alice is very much accepting of her friends' quirks and peculiarities, having those herself, and she's also loyal and generous, even if a little too blunt at times. so, friends are wanted, new and old alike, with the latter being less than the number of fingers in one hand.

A MILE. YOUR MARKET VALUE, YOUR RESURRECTION, YOUR SHALLOW CONCEPT
FOR THOSE ENEMIES, alice probably doesn't have a whole lot of them, simply because she seldom goes deep enough into a relationship to generate hatred. there's not anyone she particularly dislikes, either, because she doesn't really care that much. on the other hand, people could dislike her for any number of reasons. anything is game.
HELP YOURSELF. I HOPE YOU CHOKE AND DIE. I KNOW YOU MEANT IT, NICE FUCKING

A LITTLE FOR THE LOVERS, the whole 'love at first sight' thing doesn't exist in alice's world, so it's very,v ery, very unlikely it will ever happen to her (you're still free to try, of course). attraction at first sight? now there's something that can happen. but alice doesn't place a lot of emphasis on appearance, and she would prefer someone who ticks at least half the boxes in her 'perfect man' quiz. short-term relationships aren't her thing, and she's not one of those man-crazy, flirtatious ladies often seen in clubs and parties. so if alice were to have a boyfriend, chances are he'd have to be her friend first, and don't expect things to move quickly. at the moment she's not looking, but who knows what fate holds in store?
