Tyler sat there,he felt like fainting after Addie gushed at him over to date. He had everything planned so it would go perfectly. He really liked Audrey and he wouldn't slip up with her. He smiled at Addie's declaration that she would have to be crazy not to fall for him. And he knew she wasn't just saying that.
"Thanks Addie I needed that," He might be the support system of there friendship but even the support system needs maintenance some times. He chuckled inwardly at the bad joke he had created in his mind. "I plan on staying with her for a long time," He sighed seemingly in a daydream, some thing about kids? Nah he would be thinking to far that way. Right?

At his thanks, Addie simply smiled. "What are friends for?" The girl nodded reassuringly. Tyler was always there for her, so she could be there be there for him when he needed it. That's what friends were for. "Text me tonight and tell me how it goes? I want to know everything!" Addie stated cheerfully. She paused, thinking for just a second, and the scrunching up her nose. "Nevermind. Not everything... just the important stuff."
Giggling slightly, Addie shifted back in her chair now. Her friend had clearly fallen for this girl. She found it cute. She hoped the girl returned his feelings, as she really didn't want to see him get hurt by her. She wasn't about to let that happen.
Addie studied her friend for a few seconds and then leaned forward, snapping her fingers in front of his face. "Well somebody is smitten." Tyler's newfound crush had put Addie into somewhat of a good mood. It at least made her forget her own worries for a little bit. She was suddenly glad that she had come across the boy. Or, rather, he had found her.

Tyler had given into the daydream, deciding he might as well enjoy it some. He was snapped out of it by his friend,"I wasn't thinking about the future,no" he said quickly looking around as if woken from a actual sleep. He chuckled at what he said,"I gave it away didn't I?" He looked down at the table then back up at his friend.
"Ok so,seriously what happened that you can't tell me? You know you can tell me anything." He grew serious,"and don't even think about changing the subject I will just come back to it," He said as if knowing exactly what she would do. He hated to make her feel bad about whatever it is but he needed to know,so he could help.

Addie smiled lightly, nodding at her friend. "Just a little." She stated, laughing softly. She didn't mind, though. It was amusing to watch people who had just fallen for someone. Something about them just made Addie always feel somewhat happy. She considered this as she reached for her smoothie. It fell silent was more and Addie took a sip of the cold drink.
However, Tyler's next question caught Addie off guard and she coughed, nearly spitting her smoothie back out. She knew it was only a matter of time before Tyler brought this back up. But, she still had a slight hope that he had forgotten. Obviously, no matter how smiten he was, the boy was still persistant. Addie frowned, srunching her nose slightly as considered a good answer. "Nothing happened, Tyler! Why do you keep insisting that it did?" She lied, softly. "I just haven't felt well, that's all." She hated lying to him, she really did. But she didn't know how to tell him. She was still trying to deal with it herself.
"But, if you really want to know..." She sighed softly, continuing. Should she cave? She knew he wasn't lying. He was serious and she would have to tell him eventually. But, she needed time to find her thoughts. Addie's eyes shifted down to her smoothie and then back to Tyler. "I'm... about to be grounded if I break curfew again tonight. I've missed it the past three evenings." And, a wonderful answer at the very last second. At least she didn't lie, it was true. She had broken curfew the past three evenings. Addie forced a slight laugh before looking back to her smoothie.
"This is... good." She stated a few seconds later, taking a sip of her drink again. Anything to avoid the upcoming conversation.

Tyler all the while never broke his serious gaze, knowing she way lying...again. This gaze was a award winner to many,if you catch his eyes when he gazes at you like this, you are done for and you usually cave in. "I know your still lying,Addie" His black eyes once again staring straight into her soul as if reading her. It was weird that she kept something from him so persistently.
"Things work best when you have a friend at your side, you should know that," He was looking straight into her eyes, dead in her eyes. "You try to keep a secret bottled up,but no secret stays a secret forever, and when it comes to light in whatever way, some people won't like it." "I am just trying to help you,"

Addie studied her smoothie for a few seconds. She knew Tyler was looking at her, and she was pretty sure that he was giving her the look. He had this look that Addie had learned to hate over the years. It was a look that she basically referred to the 'do or die' look. She almost always ended up caving under his intense look. She just couldn't help it... and she was sure the look had the same affect on others, as well. She'd told Tyler this many times before, but yet he still seemed to use it to his advantage.
Looking up now, Addie bit her glossy lip once more. "I'm not lying." She could honestly state. Sure, all the information that she had just told him wasn't what had been bothering her, but it was all true. She liked to call this 'twisting the truth.' It was something that she did a lot. That way, no one could completely call her a liar.
And then she made the mistake of catching Tyler's eyes. She held his gaze defiantly, listening to his words as he spoke. She knew what he was saying was true... and for the first time all day, she actually felt torn about the matter. Should she tell him? She knew he wouldn't judge; he was always there for her.
Giving a semi-defeated sigh, Addie finally broke the gaze. She looked at her smoothie, fidgetting with the straw for a few long seconds before she closed her eyes. "Believe me, Tyler. People aren't going to like this secret." She spoke softly. Especially her parents... and her other best guy friend. How in the world was she going to tell them?
Scrunching her nose, Addie reopened her eyes and studied her smoothie for a few quiet seconds."Promise you won't flip on me?" She looked up now, a frown on her face. She was worried. She had one foot in and there was really no turning back. Tyler wouldn't let this go now.

Tyler was doing a mental victory dance in his head, she caved finally. Although whatever it was,it was bigger then anything that has been kept secret before. He kept a serious face when he nodded "I won't breath a word of whatever it is to anyone, and yes I promise I won't flip on you,"
He said to her, wondering what it could be that would make him flip on her. He never did it before so it must be big. He was running through all the possibilities in his head. There were many but he crossed out alot. Then he just stopped thinking and waited for her to speak.

Addie shifted uncomfortably now, her stomach once again twisting into a knot. If it weren't for the fact that the only thing she had ate all day was the two half-finished smoothies, then she was sure that she would be sick right about now. Normally she was good at guaging what people's reactions would be, but she couldn't figure out what Tyler's would be. She had run this through her head ever since she had found out that she was pregnant. She couldn't quite figure out anyone's reaction would be when she told them. Which scared her. Addie hated not being in control; she hated the unknown.
Tyler then promised that he wouldn't flip out on her. Even with his promise, Addie had a hard time believing it. She was sure that he'd have a hard time keeping this promise. But, she mentally prepared herself for the 'how could you be so stupid?' or questions just as similiar as she bent the straw in her smoothie cup. Her appetite was gone... might as well use the straw as a stress reliever. The only thing that slightly comforted her was the fact that he said he wouldn't tell anyone. She couldn't let him tell... not yet. That was something that she knew she needed to do on her own - tell everyone. Hearing it from someone else would just make it ten times worse for everyone involved.
Addie, finally, after letting it stay silent for a few long seconds, sighed. She glanced up at her friend for a few brief seconds, before she bit her lip and looked back to the smoothie. It was now or never. She had to tell someone sooner or later, she opted. Closing her eyes once more, the teenager frowned. "I'm... I'm pregnant." She whispered. A semi-panicked look now crossed her face as she opened her eyes and looked up to Tyler. She had surpassed worried; all she could think about was how he was going to take it. What would happen now? The girl's eyes watered slightly from worry and stress, but she blinked several times. Her eyes returned to normal and Addie shifted her gaze back to the smoothie. "Please don't freak." She added under her breath.

Tyler's world was rocked in more ways then one when Addie told him,she was pregnant. At this time he had picked up his smoothie and was about to take a sip,but he dropped it and it hit the ground at the news. He didn't know how to react at this,he couldn't,wouldn't flip.
He shed a tear at the news. It was very visible,he got up out of his chair, walked over to where Addie was sitting, and hugged her from her sitting position. "I'm sorry," he said in a whisper "I am here to help you through this, whoever the father is will be the luckiest man in the world, and if he doesn't see it that way,I will take the role of father from him." He said in his comforting tone, trying to keep her from crying or worrying. He kept hugging her, surprisingly the crowd wasn't paying attention to them at all.

The sound of something hitting the ground made Addie look up quickly. Tyler's smoothie was on the ground in a runny mess. Addie frowned, her eyes now shifting to Tyler in a worried rush. She knew he was shocked... what else was to be expected? She highly doubted that this was he had expected her to say. She had just laid a lot on him. She was scared... both of his reaction, and of her own emotions. Addie felt like she wanted to cry, but she refused to. The girl hated crying. She never cried in front of anyone. And, she promised herself that this would be no exception.
The knot in her stomach tightened as she studied Tyler's reaction. A single tear fell down her cheek and Addie frowned. She felt even worse. Why did she have to cave? Or, she supposed the more important question was, why did she have to be so stupid? She got lost in her own thoughts and nearly jumped as Tyler wrapped his arms around her. She hadn't even heard him get up. Addie leaned back against him, tilting her head up to look at him. "That's the other problem..." Addie whispered softly after Tyler's words. He made her feel somewhat better; at least she'd have him. The teenager slowly stood up, facing Tyler now as a sigh escaped her lips. She blinked back a few tears before returning her friend's hug. "I-I know that the father is... Connor." Her voice cracked softly as she leaned her head against her friend.
"I'm scared at how he'll take this." She felt so stupid at that moment with her confession. Connor had been her other best friend since the beginning of time. He wasn't even a partier like Addie had been for the past few years. He had only gone to that party because Addie had made him. The one confrontation that she was dreading most of all was the one with him. How would her other friend even begin to take it? Addie shivered slightly at the thought, closing her eyes once more. She was a worried mess. "I'm such an idiot." The girl muttered after a few more silent seconds.

"Your not a idiot," He told her hearing her whisper,"I am sure that Conner will accept this, once you confront him about it," He said to her knowing it would take her awhile to talk to him about it,"You don't have to worry I will be by your side even as this comes to light," he said comforting her,god knows she needed it at the moment. If he was in a cartoon Tyler would have a light bulb over his head at the moment.
"I will be back, don't move!" He broke the hug and ran off. He came back not even a minute later out of breath with his guitar in his case. "I know the perfect song to help you right now," He knew that Addie enjoyed his songs and he had one to help her keep her mind off of the current delima,"This will help you keep your mind off of the current issue," He said as he found a postion, descent for a crowd which gathered soon after he started playing. The song went on for about four minutes and he finished then went back over to Addie. "Now tell me that helped you atleast some," he said with a smile that said I am trying my best.

Addie simply shrugged at Tyler's words. She was an idiot. There was simply no changing her mind about that. Why had she been stupid enough to drag Connor to that party anyhow? She should have just not went. She knew she almost always ended up doing something she'd regret. Why had she thought that this time would be any different? Addie sighed softly, "I hope so." Addie stated softly, "I don't know what I'll do if he doesn't." She paused, now looking up at Tyler. "Thanks, Tyler. You're a true friend."
He broke the hug a few seconds later and Addie stepped back, crossing her arms. She felt stupid. She hated being this vulnerable. As Tyler told her not to move, Addie nodded slightly. She watched him run off down the mall, only to return a minute later. He was out of breath, but he now had his guitar. The boy told her that he knew a good song and Addie smiled lightly. She enjoyed hearing him play; his songs were always good. She knew a crowd would soon be forming and the girl pulled her over-sized hoodie back over her head. She sat down cross-legged on the floor in front of Tyler and listened to her friend play. She wasn't going to look up - not at first. She didn't want to risk someone seeing her like this. But, she slowly looked up and gave him a small smile. He was very good. And, he was right it did take her mind off of her dilemma for a few minutes.
When Tyler finished, Addie was relieved as the crowd thinned out. She stood up, and met him half-way. She knew he was trying. She could tell that by his looks and actions. She was suddenly very thankful to have him. Even if Tyler hadn't made her feel somewhat better, she was sure that she would have told him that he had anyways. A little white lie couldn't hurt much. "It helped." Addie reassured the boy honestly. She smiled, "And, thank you for trying... I appreciate it a lot!" And that was honest. Addie wasn't sure what she'd do without him. Even though she wouldn't admit it, it did feel good to know that at least one of her close friends supported her.
