Lunch With A New Friend ( Rebecca )

Shawn walked into the pizzeria and sat down at the table. He really didnt know why he had ask the girl to come, and eat with him, but he was bored, and Bailiee was busy today so she couldnt go want could happen Shawn wasnt looking for a girl friend just some new friends to be able to hang out with and it wasnt like he was dating Bailee. Shawn was lost in thought and didnt really notice as the waitress walked up and was standing at the table waiting for Shawn to notice her." Oh im sorry im waiting on someone. She should be here very soon."

Shawn smiled as the waitress walked away, then he pulled out his phone, and started playing a game on his phone he really didnt have anything else to do why he waited. He knew that Rebecca wouldnt be here for about 10 minutes but shawn lived close and driving here got him to the pizzeria in less them five minutes.

After turning off her lap top Rebecca looked down at her clothes with a sigh, she was still in her pajamas and only had fifteen minutes to get to the pizzeria to meet Shawn. Sure they only talked for a few minutes on the school chat but she was never going to give up the idea of having pizza, and driving there would only take a few minutes. Pulling clothes on real quick she checked her cell phone for the time, she had about four minutes to get there. Yeah she was going to be a little late, grabbing her keys she headed outside to her car hoping and praying it behaved. It was her dad’s old car and it was very temperamental sometimes, taking minutes to start. Getting in and shutting her door putting her seat belt on she put the keys into the ignition keeping her finger crossed before turning the key, the first time nothing.

She groaned, “come on you dumb car” she muttered under her breath turning the key again this time starting it. “Yeah finally, thank you” she cheered before heading off to the pizzeria. Looking at her phone again when she got there she sighed, she was about five minutes late now. Getting out of her car she walked into the pizzeria looking around trying to see if she could spot Shawn, she only knew him by her picture so it might not be easy. “Oh wait found him” she walked over to the table he was sitting at sitting down. “Sorry , my car wouldn’t start and I sorta had to be wearing something other than pajamas” she said.

Shawn smiled as Rebecca walked threw the door and sat down across from him. she apalogized for being late, and Shawn said" Dont be sorry its ok, and you could have wore pj's it would have been ok." Shawn laughed a little then he got up, and pulled out the chair for he. Shawn was raised to do that most girl thaught he was just sucking up. Shawn sat back down waiting for the waitress to come over so he could order he really didnt know what to say but he was just going to paly it cool.

Shawn took his phone of the table and put it in his pocket then looked over at rebecca and asked" How come i dont see you around school or anything or are you older then me?" Shawn smiled waiting for her to talk because he really didnt know anything else to say

“No way was I coming here in my pajamas because if I did it would have been very odd, pajamas and slippers not what I wanted to come here wearing just gotta say that now. It would have been really embarrassing trust me, my pajamas are very childish” Rebecca shook her head with a laugh. “Thanks for inviting me though, it was an offer I couldn’t say no to” she smiled a little bit just being polite. She could always use more friends and Shawn seemed like an alright person so she was hoping they could maybe be friends by the end of all this.

“I’m pretty sure I’ve seen you around school and we may have had a class or two together, I’m a junior so if you’re a junior we probably had a few classes together before. Reason why you might have not seen me though is most of my friends aren’t in my grade so I try my best to hang out with them, I’m also a tad shy sometimes so I don’t talk to most people” she said looking down at the table. “I can’t wait for school to be over though” she added.

Shawn laughed a little as she told him about her pajama's. Shawn sat there listining to the girl talk he liked her she seemed very cool and he knew they would end up good friends." Im a junior so im pretty sure we had classes together just javent seen each other, And same here i hang out with a lot of seniors my friend Mathew Craft is a senior so i'm always with him.'' Most people knew Matt he was the star athelete at the school Shawn and him had known each other since they where kids Matt wasnt much older then shawn he just started school earlier.

Shawn loved meeting new people, and he really liked meeting people that he had stuff in common with. So he figured he would ask" So what do you plan on doing after the senior year of school, and do you like music?'' Since he played the guitar, Drums,And paino he always asked people if they where into music.

“Matthew Craft yes I believe I heard about him” Rebecca nodded a little bit to herself, she knew quite a few people in school even though she would never talk to them. It just went to show how shy she really was when she didn’t talk to them was all, and she could be pretty shy sometimes. She only really talked to the few friends she had, and pretty much all of them were older than her and many of them were guys to since the girl was a total tom boy and had more fun handing out with guys than with girls because girls really didn’t know how to have fun like she did, and think about it being alone with guys rocked.

“Yes I do like music but I’m not much into playing instruments though I can play guitar fairly well, I’m much more into singing than anything else and judging by your picture in the chat you pay guitar. I think that was what you were holding am I right” Rebecca looked at him, “oh and after senior year I plan to go to college for dentistry. Maybe find my way out of this school, my friend’s find me insane for wanting to be a dentist but I really don’t seem to care” she shrugged. “Let them call me whatever they wish I say”.

Shawn Smiled " I figured that you would know Matt everyone knows him." Shawn looked out the window to the road people watching was his favorite thing to do when he was in town, but he didnt want to look weird infront of Rebecca so he turned and looked at he " Yea it was a guitar i also play the Paino and the Drums i dont sing though. I mean i can but i just dont.'' He really loved to play instruments, but it was getting in the way of his friend time and Shawn couldnt handle practicing every do so he decided he was going to stop for a while, and this was why he had so much more free time.

" Thats cool i think beign a dentist would be fun, althought i dont like going to them.'' Shawn laughed at his joke, then said" Im thinking about going to college for preforming arts, but there isnt many thing you can do with music so if that doesnt work out i have good enough grades to be a doctor like my brother I hope it doesnt come to that though.'' Shawn looked at Rebecca she was a very pretty girl, and Shawn liked talking to her.

“Yeah suppose that’s true, he seems to be quite a popular guy doesn’t he since I always seem to see him with other people and hardly ever alone. He seems nice enough though I’ve hardly talked to him, I hardly ever talk to people I haven’t talked to and am almost surprised I’m here” she smiled a little bit. Not that she wasn’t happy that she came; she always thought she needed to make new friends and this was the perfect way to meet new people. Talking to them on the chat and then meeting up later on, that’s how she met a few people she talked to already. “I tried drums once, I liked them but all I could do was make a lot of noise. It bugged the hell out of my dad so I was actually very happy, because my dad is” she just stopped talking right then and there.

“I like the dentist I suppose since my teeth are important and deserve to me cleaned and stuff” she shrugged her shoulders, “college for the performing arts sounds like a lot of fun actually. I know there isn’t a lot of jobs in music but it sounds like fun all the same, and if you think that is what you would want to do than you ought to go for it” she ran a hand through her hair just trying to fix it better. “Although being a doctor would work to” she added.

" Im glad you came though because your really cool.'' Shawn blushed a little he never thought he would be having lunch with someone he hardly knew. Shawn was glad they had something to talk about in music, Because he didnt know what to talk about if the didnt have music in common. Shawn looked over at Rebecca and asked " So i dont want to be rude, But is there a boyfriend i need to worry about? Shawn laughed at his questuon a little he liked making jokes it lightend the mood.

Shawn looked around for a waitress he was getting hungry and he really wanted to order the food. Shawn looked at rebecca and asked" What type of pizza would you like. Shawn didnt care what type of pizza it was as long as there was no pineapple.

“Thanks Shawn, I’m glad you think I’m cool and I’m very glad that I came to because you seem like a very nice guy and I’m glad I got to meet you” Rebecca smiled a little bit at him. She was very glad that he liked music, because as a music loving girl she had nothing but friends that were also very into music. She liked it that way though and saw nothing at all wrong with that, and at Shawn’s question she shook her head. “No sir no boyfriend for you to worry about so you are safe and free to talk to me” Rebecca smiled.

When the waitress walked up she was glad, she was really starting to get hungry and glad that the waitress was here now. “Pepperoni or bacon is just fine” she told him with a slight nod of her head, she ate most kinds of pizza. Anything but mushrooms which she was allergic to and clearly couldn’t have.

Shawn laughed a little as she told him she didnt have a boyfriend, and it kind of made him happy because she was a very cute girl, and Shawn would like to talk to her more. Shawn looked over at the waitress and said" We will have a large Bacon pizza, and i would like a water to drink. What would you want to drink Rebecca?" Shawn looked out the window at his car parked on the side of the road, And watched as people walked down the road and into all the little shops in the town square. Shawn didnt even here Rebecca tell the waitress what she wanted to drink, but as he turned around he saw the waitress walking away.


Shawn looked back to Rebecca and asked " So what all do you do for fun around town?" Shawn was usually with Matt so what ever he did Shawn was always there doing the samething, But Shawn also had a life of his own and played music for fun, but he really didnt have anyone to bounce ideas off of so he hoped him and Rebecca would end up become close friends, and they could talk more about music sometime.

Rebecca was almost glad she was yet to have a boyfriend, because that meant she was open to new people and meeting new people and making new friends. After she got through her issues of being a little shy, she use to be so shy she would hide her head in school when the teacher called her name. As she got older she got less shy and clumsier, yes she could trip over air on a daily basis and also run into walls. She had fun doing it though, and when the waitress came around she just ordered water and looked at Shawn.

“I read a lot; I’m a nerd when it comes to reading because I love to read. I also draw a lot actually; really I just do anything to cure my boredom for a short time” she shrugged her shoulders slightly. “Okay anything in art I enjoy but it’s mostly drawing and painting, I like to do a lot of things and a few days ago I was at the park dancing in the rain getting myself sick. It was so worth it though”.

" I like to read also, but if its a boring book then i hate reading." The Waitress brought over there drinks, and Matt took a drink then sat it back down. Then he looked over at Rebecca Shawn started to blush a little Rebecca was a very nice girl, and he liked that about her, Shawn started to tap his fingers on the table it was something he did when he has nervous. Shawn pulled his hand off the table and smiled at Rebecca he didn't want her to know he was nervous, but anyone could tell he was. Shawn let out a deep breath then said" Well I'm single also, and i really don't like being single." Shawn laughed a little he had been single for a long time it seemed like the only reason a girl talked to him was to get Matt's number.

The waitress came to the table and layed the pizza on the table. She handed them a couple plates, and then walked away. Shawn looked at Rebecca, and asked" Which peace do you want?" Shawn was hungry, but he was always taught to let the women eat first.

“It doesn’t even matter on the book to be honest, I’d read about anything even if it may be boring because it’s something to read. I have a book shelf in my room over flowing with books, I love Nicholas Sparks, Shakespeare, Harry Potter, and a lot of others. Any romance novel is decent, well anything but Twilight which is just a lame excuse of a romance novel where vampires sparkle.

Which they clearly don’t and it totally ruined all my favorite vampire novels” Rebecca frowned looking at her as he tapped his fingers on the table, he seemed nervous and she really wondered why. He had no reason to ever be nervous around her, smiling a little bit she frowned. “Being single always stinks you know, but it only means that god if you believe in him is waiting for the perfect person for you” Rebecca kept smiling at him.

When the pizza came so took a plate and a piece of pizza, “it looks really good” she took a bite of it. “Yep I was right, it is very good” she laughed a little bit. “Now eat” she pointed to the pizza and continued to eat her slice of pizza her black painted mails on both her hands in clear view as she ate.

Shawn laughed as Rebecca told him to eat he grabbed him a slice of pizza, and started to eat. Shawn put his pizza down, and got a drink of his water. Shawn looked up at Rebecca and said " You are right god does have a special person out there for everyone, and i think most people have a hard time figuring that out." Shawn smiled at Rebecca he liked being able to just sit here with her, and being his self most of the time he was acting like a prep to fit in with his other friends that's why he was always with Matt, because he could just be his self, and he didn't have to act any different.

Shawn started to eat his pizza again as he was eating all Shawn could do was think about how pretty Rebecca was. Shawn didn't want to make things weird since they had just met. Shawn finished his first slice of pizza, and picked another slice he didn't want to look like a pic, but he was hungry. Shawn laid the pizza on his plate and asked" So do you like the pizza?'' Shawn smiled at Rebecca, then went back to eating his pizza.
