You'd think that after having your uncle ravage and rape you as a little boy would make you this mentally warped, unstable person, yeah? Well, Jay isn't exactly like that. He was traumatized, and still has relapses where he'll break out and just lose himself here and there, but because of what happened he feels this never ending need to satisfy people. This includes making friends. If he finds someone who seems friendly enough, he'll do just about anything to get on their 'good' side. A part of him has convinced himself that he'd somehow done something wrong to wind up getting as hurt as he did as a little boy from someone he thought he could trust. So his thinking is more geared towards 'if I make them happy, then it won't happy again'. He honestly is a sweetheart with the best intentions in mind, but can come off as clingy or too excited/hyper when it comes to having first impressions with people. The boy is desperate to come out looking as normal as he possibly can to hide the past. No one ever suspects the one who has the biggest smile to have something to hide, right? Over all, he's a friendly individual. However gets a little shy when it comes to being around guys.

People can certainly become annoyed at his over abundance of energy, so I can see that coming off as something a bit frowned on. He works at the local club as an 'exotic dancer', so, naturally, there'll be those who might not like that either. Really, he just finds it as a release to let himself go and get a grip on who he is as a person, eventually working up to the point of telling the world who he is as well once he's ready to drop what happened. Other than that, though, I don't see much else of a reason for others not to like him. But the possibilities are most definitely there.

lovers
Mm, tricky. This boy has yet to have a first real boyfriend up to this point. Though the sex was always around. Well, v-card aside since that's clearly gone. He's kind of afraid to get involved in anything that deals with getting close to others on that level, understandably, but does long for the ability to just relax for once around a guy without the fear of it happening all over again. Because it most definitely still haunts his dreams, making the nightmare a reality every day he's forced to wake up. It'd take someone with patience and understanding, most likely, for Jay to put his guard down. Although, back in highschool, his old way of handling things was just sleeping with whomever would give him a second look or the time of day. It served as his 'out' and the hate that he holds against the man who he swears ruined his life. Nothing was ever stable though or lasted, as he was usually left hanging. All that stopped, or at least slowed to a crawl once he got into college.
