the sound of a dripping faucet in her house was driving serenity insane. the tap tap sound it was making annoyed her, and she was hoping that in some point in time her mom, or dad, would get the stupid sink fixed. serenity closed her laptop slowly, thinking about the fact that she was about to meet a guy, a rather cute guy actually, at the park, and get some ice cream with him. his name was ben, and even online serenity had a hard time finding what to say to him. no guy had ever done that before. she wasn't sure if he was just cute, or it was his blazing blue eyes that she found herself staring at. serenity had no idea how she was going to handle it when she actually saw him close up, in person. serenity took a deep breath, and made her way over to her closet. what to wear was always a dilemma with the small girl. however, when it came to school she never cared what she looked like, since people never really paid much attention to her. freshman. the ignored ones. that was the group that serenity belonged to. and serenity never wore makeup, frankly because she didn't know how to properly put it on. the small girl was quite pretty without it, letting her get away with it.
after finding a rather nice outfit, a cute little sundress, serenity made her way downstairs, and out her front door. the weather outside was gratifying, making serenity smile a little in daint pleasure. the sun was shining, and a few puffy clouds plastered themselves in the sky. the wind chilled her skin a little, but it was a light wind and she didn't mind it. looking around, she slowly made her way to the park. on her way to the park, she passed many things. there was the small town shops that she enjoyed shopping in with her mom when her mom was free, and wasn't working. it had been awhile since she last spent time with her mom, and it wasn't because she didn't want to, there was a lack of time available for her. she made her way into the park, stopping to look at the small children playing their little games. watching kids made her think of when she was a young girl still playing hopscotch and playing with barbies. serenity had a really good childhood, everything that a kid could ask for. taking a small breath, she headed to a bench, sitting down and waiting for ben to make his way to the park.

Ben looked around his room, it was a small sorta plain room but it was home for the last six years of his life. Since he was ten years old and taken from his home and put into foster care, he spent three years in and out of home before finally being adopted to a very nice family, the Fisher’s family. The mom lost a child, and was unable to have any more kids so at thirteen Ben was adopted. He didn’t like it, but he knew it was a lot better than being stuck in foster homes all his life and the Fisher’s were very nice to him. Only thing was it wasn’t his real family and he really missed his real family, his real family with his two brothers. Sighing to his self he walked to his closet to get dressed to go to the park, he was wearing a plain tee shirt and jeans something that was perfect for the weather outside today and slipping his shoes on his feet he nodded. His hair was a mess, like it always was and there was a scar on his eyebrow he got there when he was seven but other than that he looked perfect. Running his hand through his hair he shrugged, he had to get going and was really glad that the park wasn’t that far of a distance.
Walking out of his house he headed right to the park stuffing his hands in his pockets, he wasn’t able to really drive yet but he knew he was going to be able to soon enough. He couldn’t wait for that because he hated having to talk everywhere, it really got boring and he hated walking sometimes. Getting to the park he took a look around trying to spot Serenity, he hoped how she looked in her picture would be enough for him to notice her and spotting a girl sitting alone at a bench he smiled. He looked just like the girl he was looking got, “Serenity?” he asked before he walked over to her. He was pretty sure that it was her, it looked just like her.

serenity pulled out her ipod while she was waiting for ben. not because he was late, but because she was rather early, and she didn't notice this at first. so as she was waiting, she had her earphones in and was blaring one of her all time favorite songs. it was by one of her favorite bands, all time low. when she blared her music at home, it drove her sister insane. most girls serenity's age actually liked music, and serenity spent a lot of her time just randomly listening to music and having a good time. while she listened to her music, she watched the kids on the playground playing. she watched as one boy fell off of the slide, and as his mother rushed over to make sure if he was okay. it was sad, but it was quite amusing at the same exact time. of course, she didn't like it when people got hurt, but sometimes watching the scene play out in front of you was just really amusing.
finally when it was about time for ben to arrive, she took out her earphones and put away her ipod, into her pocket. she sat there on the bench, looking around until she spotted ben. "hi ben!" she said as he walked over, asking serenity if she was serenity. she gave him a small hug, hoping that he didn't mind. serenity loved to give hugs to people she knew, and her friends, and ben was the lucky candidate today. after giving him a hug, she sat back down on the bench. laughing a little, she looked at him.

Ben had no siblings at home, sure he had siblings he just haven’t seen them in years and he was young when he was taken from his home. All he could remember anymore was being put in a car, his mother crying saying please don’t take her baby boy, and watching his home fading into the distance as he drove away and tears were falling down his face. He was ten at the time, too young to truly understand what was going on, but for some reason the people thought taking him out of that form of home life the best thing to do. Him being as young as he was they thought him being in the environment was a very bad thing, so they took him away. He still wished they didn’t, no matter how bad things could have gotten.
When he got to the park Serenity hugged him and he smiled, he loved getting hugs from people and getting a hug from her was very nice. In fact from the way she hugged him she gave very nice hugs and he liked that about her because he really did like hugs. “Hi Serenity, I’m really glad you look like you do in your picture” he said with a small smile hugging her back quick before sitting down beside her on the bench. “So ice cream right?” he asked looking at her.

sometimes serenity just wanted to be alone, and that made it hard with siblings. of course, one of them had her own apartment, and the other one barely bothered her unless serenity did something terribly wrong, but since she was a good kid nothing major usually happened. sometimes people told serenity that she needed to go out and have more fun, but that wasn't exactly her cup of tea. sitting at home and reading or watching a movie was as bad as she got. and by movies she meant cute little romantic ones, since scary ones usually gave her nightmares, and she really hated nightmares. they were one thing that she wished she could make disappear.
she blushed a little bit when he said she was glad she looked like the way she did in her picture. was that a good thing? did he find her cute? there were many things she worried about when she was around a guy that she liked. like right now, she was wishing that she looked okay around him, because she really didn't want to screw this up. "yes, ice cream!" she laughed and pointed in the direction to get ice cream. "shall we go now, or wait?"

Ben never really had a problem with being alone ever since the adoption, the people that adopted him worked a lot so that normally left Ben alone at the house and he couldn’t say he really minded that all that much since he sorta liked being alone. When he was home alone he normally just read or watched movies, he loved movies and would watch any movie about if it caught his attention, he normally didn’t watch chick flicks though and stuck with horror movies. His favorites were always going to be the Saw movies, but his favorite movie of all time was always going to just be the Lion King. He loved that movie ever since he was a little kid and he always would love it; there was no way his love for the movie would ever change.
Ben also found her very cute, her blond hair, to her pretty smile, it all fit her and he was very lucky to be standing next to a girl that was just as pretty as she was and nodding his head he smiled. “No we can go get the ice cream now; I’m totally ready for it. Then again when is a person who can have ice cream never ready for ice cream, let’s go” he said before heading into the direction of the ice cream area.

it had been awhile since serenity last went out to eat ice cream. it wasn't because she didn't like ice cream, everyone liked ice cream, but the fact that she never had anyone to go with, and getting ice cream by yourself was not the same. if serenity had someone with her, she probably would get ice cream every single day of the year. serenity lived for junk food, and she practically lived off of it. she knew it wasn't healthy, but frankly, she just didn't care. it was junk food, or nothing. there had been times when her sister would yell at her for not eating a salad at dinner, but serenity ignored her. she knew eventually she would have to start eating a lot more healthy things, but right now was not the time. serenity was naturally a small thin girl, so she got away with eating whatever she wanted, when she wanted. she would never be the type to have to diet, and the only time she would be bigger is if she was having a kid.
serenity headed over to the ice cream place, sneaking glances at ben. everything about him was cute to her. she was watching his eyes especially, his bright blue ones that were shining and popping out to her. serenity had blue eyes as well, but she prefered his eyes over her own. there was just something about them that made her attracted. and then there was his smile. serenity was defintely considering herself a lucky girl. "yes, there is always a time for ice cream," she giggled, continuing her way to the place.

Ben hadn’t had ice cream in a while either, but that didn’t mean he didn’t like ice cream. No the boy loved ice cream and just any snack food in general, he loved eating ice cream and chips and would actually just keep a bag of chips in his room at all times. Sure he knew it wasn’t too healthy to be doing so, but he didn’t seem to care all that much about actually being healthy. He wasn’t fat so why should he bother with eating healthy was his opinion, he could eat healthy when he needed to eat healthy which was no time soon.
Ben followed Serenity to the ice cream place smiling the whole time, he actually had a very nice smile and very nice blue eyes. Even though he hardly seemed to even like his eyes that much, sure they weren’t bad looking but they almost sorta bored him. “Hmm yes this is very true, there is always time for ice cream and now is a very good time” he laughed.

Serenity looked up towards the sky, which was still shining bright and blue, with white puffy clouds up in the sky. It didn't look like it was going to rain tonight, and Serenity was surely glad about that. Serenity liked the rain, but only on occasion. She was never the type to go out and get soaked, but she wasn't scared to get wet. When it came to getting wet, she preferred water parks and such. Serenity looked towards Ben, debating on which was bluer: the sky, or his eyes. Surprisingly, she figured out quick that his eyes were definitely bluer.
Serenity pulled out her money and made her way up to the ice cream window, looking at all of the choices. Serenity always had a hard time when it came to picking something, since everything looked good to her. At last, she finally ordered. Looking at Ben, she smiled slightly. "I'm paying, okay?" she smiled.

Ben did indeed have very blue eyes, they were a very nice shade of blue though and he really seemed to like them. Looking up at the sky he noted just how nice it was out and glad that it didn’t look like rain since he wasn’t one for the rain, it was okay but he didn’t like going out and getting soaked in and then getting sick because of being all wet. Looking at her with a frown he said, “Why do you get to pay? I always had it in my mind that the guys were the ones to pay” he kept his frown on his face.
He hated when other people paid for him most of the time, it just made him feel like since he didn't pay he couldn't pay and that wasn't the case at all. Most of the time he could actually pay for things, but people just seemed to just offer to pay and it was a problem. He didn't want to seem cheap or anything, "I mean I can easily pay since I do have money" Ben looked at her for a moment. He just didn'yt want her wasting her money was all.

serenity couldn't help but chuckle a little bit. usually on dates the guys were the ones to pay, but whoever said that this was a date? "this isn't a date, i can surely pay," serenity laughed, looking at ben. she was sure that she wasn't going to break her bank by paying him, after all she had a job of babysitting children, which gave her some money. it wasn't the best job, but hey serenity was young and didn't need tons of money in her pocket. it was nice when she wanted to go out and do something, but she got money from her dad when she needed it. the other night she had babysat a little girl and had gotten almost sixty bucks, so she was pretty happy. probably the happiest she had been in awhile. and then she met ben which made her even more happier. she had just met him but he seemed a lot different than all other boys. "you can't pay, cause i already said i was," she added with a small giggle.

“So what if it isn’t a date, I still don’t feel right with you really paying for me since I could obviously pay for myself and I have no idea why but I always feel bad when other people pay for me. It makes it seem as if I’m incapable of paying for myself or something which isn’t the case at all. People just offer to I guess and I feel bad that they do. It just really isn’t a feeling I can help is all” he shrugged his shoulders a little bit looking at her, sure if her mind was set he wasn’t going to totally refuse.
To him free ice cream was free ice cream, “I mean if your mind is set though there is no way that I can really say no” he sighed. Ben was really happy he met Serenity, she was really pretty and talking to him was something he really seemed to enjoy to and he only hoped he would be able to get to know more about her.

serenity smiled in success. she mostly got her way, because when she wanted something she stood her ground and got her way. she wasn't snobby, and she didn't throw a fit if something didn't go how she wanted, but for the most part she got what she wanted because she pretty much stood up for herself. smiling, she pulled out her money, and waited for him to order. once he ordered, than she could pay. "you gotta order, silly!" she laughed, poking him in the ribs. another thing about serenity was that she was really playful, and she loved to have fun with people. if someone couldn't laugh a lot, then she wouldn;t get along with them. it wasn;t that she didn't want to, she just couldn't. serenity pulled on a piece of her hair, as the person behind the counter handed her the ice cream that she ordered. "yay," serenity said, waiting for ben to order so that she could pay for them both.

Ben frowned a little bit, but only to his self at the fact that Serenity was paying for him since it made him almost feel bad that she was paying when he was clearly able to. That and she was really pretty, and he wouldn’t have minded paying at all since he did have the money to. When she poked him in the ribs he laughed a little bit before ordering his ice cream, “there I ordered” he said sticking his tongue out at her a little bit. She deserved it for poking him in the ribs, it was only a playful jester though. To show that Ben was just as playful as she was, and that if she wanted to he was always there to have fun with. He was hardly ever busy, which is what people actually seemed to really like about him. It made him even easier to get a hold of, and to certain people it was good for him to be easy to get a hold of. Having only a limited amount of friends, he was never with a lot of people either.

serenity handed the waitress her money, and then stood next to ben, laughing slightly. "hey don't you go sticking your tongue out at me, you meanie." she giggled, pulling a piece of her hair that flew in her face behind her ear. she then started to eat her ice cream, smiling to herself. there was nothing better than being with the boy you like and eating ice cream. "yummy," she said, before making her way over to the counter, grabbing some napkins. she then walked over to a picnic table and wiped off crumbs and other things on the table. she sat down, and looked over at ben to make sure that he was coming. she looked around at the people that were around them. there were families with little kids, older couples. it made serenity happy to see people having a good time with their family.
