Nicole shifted her weight on his counter now, swinging her legs gently. She studied him as he spoke, giving a slight nod at his reassurance. She supposed that she at least owed him a warning this time around when things got stressful. But, Nicole wasn't one to rationalize like that. She acted first and thought later, which, in truth, was probably why they had the two kids to begin with. Neither she nor Ryder had been thinking much at the time, but Ryder didn't seem to regret it too much. The kids were now his life. And hopefully they soon would be hers, too.
Ryder went on to explain about their kids. She couldn't help but to laugh slightly at his explanation. She really hadn't thought that either child would end up like her. There again, Kaylee had only been a few months old when she had given them the boot. Nicole knew her as little more than a baby... she hadn't really understand her personality. "They're both adorable, Ry... you just don't realize how much they've grown until you come back and they just seem... all grown up." Nicole frowned slightly. She somewhat regretted missing out on so much of her children's' lives. She almost wondered if they'd grow up to resent her for it. Biting her lip, her eyes trailed down to the floor at this thought. "I should spend more time with them, get to know them again. Especially if they're as much like me as you say they are."
Feeling his eyes on her now, Nicole looked back to him. She grinned, laughing at his rather arrogant, but joking, statement, and rolled her eyes. "I know, I am pretty hott, right?" She smirked lightly, giggling at herself. "But you're pretty sexy, too. Our kids just got lucky that they have two amazing looking parents." She winked, rather jokingly. She as grateful that they were talking now; it was somewhat like old times. It was a nice change from the previous day, or, even, earlier today.

he nodded at her, and looked at her for a second, and then smiled. he surely missed having her around, and being with her. he looked at her, and said" i know, i don't either...and i'm with them everyday." he looked around, slightly for a minute. he didn't feel too bad, but he felt bad that his kids had to known that thier mother left. but, atleast, she came back, right? he looked to her again, and said" you should, nic. they're great kids.'
he smiled at her, and then watched her for a minute. he didn't really know, if she was going to flip out,and act like well...a certain princess that she could be, sometimes. he laughed a bit, and then said" they did get quiet lucky." he looked at her, and then back to the table. his eyes darted around, and then back to her. he sighed, and then said" nic, you regret them?" he wanted to know. because, even if, he wanted to be back in the days were nothing ever really mattered. where, ryder could jump off the highest thing with his skateboard, and not have to worry that he had someone to get up in the morning for with a bruised body part.
he looked at her, and said" i hope you don't." he looked do the floor, and then sat up for his spot. he sighed, running his (good) hand through his hair. he felt his stomache in a knot, and then moved slightly closer to nic. she was already set up for this, so it was no work. he smirked, and then gently pushed her hair back, placing his hand on her neck, and then kissed her.

Did she regret them? Nicole shifted uneasily at this question, her mind weighing back and forth. The answer that everyone just seemed to assume was yes, that she did regret them. But, that really wasn't the case. Yes, they had changed her life. Yes, they made her grown up a bit. And yes, sometimes she did think of them as a mistake. But, when it came right now to it, Nicole wasn't sure that she did regret them. She regretted ditching them, but she didn't regret having them. Anymore. "No," She spoke softly, giving a slight shake of the head. "I don't really regret them... just, sometimes, I wish they would have come along later down the road, you know?"
Nicole considered this for a few seconds, staring out in to space. She opted what it would be like if the children hadn't come for a few more years. Until both she and Ryder had graduated. They wouldn't be sitting here, now. They'd be back home. And, Nicole wouldn't be graduated... she'd be a senior. Things would be a lot different. She zoned out for a second as she thought about this. The only thing really bringing her back was the sudden notice that Ryder had moved a lot closer to her.
The blond now quit shifting her weight on the counter, focusing on Ryder. She was about to say something as she felt him gently move her messy hair and place his hand on her neck. The action sent so many familiar feelings tingling down her spine, and the ever talkative Nicole went silent. And then, he kissed her. Nicole went wide eyed for a few seconds, stiffening at his touch. She quickly relaxed though, and slid forward so that she was perched on the edge of the counter with Ryder as her support. She place once hand on his shoulder and the other behind his neck, gladly kissing him back. It had bee too long since they had last kissed, and Nicole hated at how it still made her feel like silly putty in his hands. She definitely still loved him. There was nothing she could do to deny that.

ryder nodded, fully understand the answer. he wished the same sometime. but no, he didn't regret it happening. he loved his kids, more than anything, and he did love the mother of them. he sighed, and then looked around. sometimes he just wondered...wondered how it would be without the kids. he'd be back home, sitting on his mothers couch, yelling for a sandwhich, and maybe, nicole would be on the side of them. they wouldn't be here, right now. she wouldn't of left him for a year.
he sighed, and then he suddenly snapped back to what was going on. he was making out with nicole, and honestly, it felt good. ryder had missed how much nicole could have him in a second, and how much he could make her weak at the knees. he moved his hand through his hair, and the other on her side of her body. he was trying to make sure she didn't fall of the counter, either. it was all a balancing act. he slipped his hand down her waist, alittle bit.

Nicole was amazed at how far they'd come in just a day. Or, rather, how easy it was to just pick up the pieces from where they'd left off. She hadn't really imagined herself being in this situation anytime soon. But, she was strangely okay with it. It was much preferred over yesterday's, or even this morning's, arguments. Nicole steadied herself with her one hand, leaving it at Ryder's shoulder, and then she she moved her other hand, twisting Ryder's hair around her fingers. Making out with him just seemed natural, but the girl hadn't realized how much she'd missed it until just now. God, had she missed him.
She willed herself to pull back slightly after a few minutes had gone by. Nicole rested her forehead against Ryder's, breathing slightly harder than before, and still trying to remain balanced on the edge of the counter. Most people would have just slid off the counter once the kiss had began, but Nicole didn't mind. Between Ryder and herself, she had been fairly well balanced.
But, now, Nicole open her eyes, leaving her hands placed at they had been seconds before. She smiled lightly, feeling flushed. "What... brought that about?" Not that she truly cared. She had thoroughly enjoyed it. It was the first time that they had kissed in over a year, and Nicole knew better than to question it too much.

ryder landed one of his hands on her side, gently, keeping it there. his other hand was back to her neck, and of course stayed there. he wasn't really thinking too much, but he was surely glad that he was doing this. he had really missed her, and he really didn't know how much he did till, his lips were pressed against hers again. this was one of the only things that had seemed to calm nicole down a year ago. even ryder, would admit, that it calmed him down too.
once she let go, he stayed there. he let her rest her head against his. his green eyes stared into her eyes, and smiled. he breathed a tad bit louder, and listened to her, breath in and out. he had been suprised that she didn't fall off the counter during that session, i mean yeah, they did this before. the wierd positions, the wierd places, the everything. they've had their experience, but neither of them, have in a while.
he smiled, and then heard her speak. he chuckled, and said" i'm not quiete sure, honestly... i just wanted too." he looked at her, and said" was it too fast? i wasn't sure." he looked slightly down, thinking it was. his eyes made thier way back to her and waited for her response, or anything.

Nicole didn't move, rather content with their current position. She met his gaze, laughing slightly at how crazy she felt. Even when she was freaking out over something, which had happened a lot more than it should, Ryder had always seemed to calm her down with a kiss. It was shocking at the affect he had on her, even after all these years. They had pretty much been together since they were twelve. Most people would have lost interest a long time ago.
She held her smile, though, studying Ryder's green eyes with her own green eyes. It was just like old times. And, in a way, Nicole was grateful for that. They used to try anything, really just getting caught up in the moment like the two teenagers that they were. Nicole had forgotten how good it felt to just be this... spontaneous and unexpected. Now, she felt like she had to plan every single little detail of her life, almost like a control freak. This was a nice change of pace.
Another giggle came as Ryder stated that he had just wanted to. He seemed rather surprised at himself, and Nicole smirked lightly at his question. She leaned forward, pecking his lips lightly before pulling back once more. "Not at all. I've missed that..." Hopefully he didn't think that it was too soon. Yes, Nicole had been very surprised, but she enjoyed it. It was unexpected, but nice.

he looked at nicole, waiting for anything. but sometimes, sitting in the suspense was something he liked. it was like old times, when they'd go at it for hours, like teenagers that they were. he smirked, looking at her. he kept one hand on the counter, and placed the other on her leg. he missed how they were, honestly. all the planning..and kid stuff, well it got boring sometimes. sometimes, to be a teenager was nice.
he held his position for a while, and then when she spoke, he nodded. he smiled, and said' i'm glad i'm not the only one that did." he looked at her, and then smirked. he scooped her up, picking her up off the counter, and placed her down. he smiled, and said" okay, it's time to get this place ready! back to business...no monkey stuff," he looked to the clock and said" we have an hour, to cook, and clean up this mess...just to get ready for five more hours of a messy house." he looked at her and said" there's a custome for cleaning..for you in that closet. it's pretty sexy. i have my apron, so i can be chief ryder." he said half jokingly. he looked at her and said" but really, clean the living room please, and i'm going to cook dinner."
he leaned down, and kissed her gently on the lips, before walking away to the cabinet. he grabbed a box of pasta, out of the cabinet, and placed it on the counter. he looked back at her, and said" let's go, let's go. get that ass moving!"

Nicole was content, just sitting there in silence for a few seconds. It was just a nice change of pace, and she almost wished that she wouldn't have ended their make out session. But, as a smirk crossed Ryder's face, Nicole bit her lip. She knew he was about to do something that she would probably yell at him for. She started to squirm back on the counter, which was really a waste of energy. She had always been so little, so light. Ryder could easily scoop her up, which was exactly what he did. Nicole shrieked slightly, hating the feeling of being off her feet. She had never liked being carried, even if for only a few seconds. Once she was safely back on the ground, though, Nicole smiled lightly. "I hate you."
She listened to him talk about cooking and cleaning the house and her smile shifted slightly. Cleaning? Yeah, that was something that Nicole really despised. She wanted to go into Interior Design, but, yet, she hated cleaning. Go figure. She rolled her eyes at his comment, shaking her head. "Fine, fine. But you owe me." That much, she was at least serious about. Yes, she had come here to reclaim her family and win back over Ryder. But, Nicole had always been one to tell people that they owed her for the silliest of tasks. It was just Nicole - something always had to be in it for her.
He kissed her once more, and Nicole flushed. God, she hated how he made her feel. She watched him head to the cabinet to get pasta, and shook her head. "Yeah, yeah. But, what I don't get is why you get the easy job? I have to clean and you get to cook. It hardly seems fair." Not that Nicole could cook to save her life. She had tried many times before and every attempt had been just as awful as the last. Anything that she would 'make' for dinner would be take out food. It was probably for the best that Ryder did the cooking.

he laughed and said" dito, chica." he really didn't though, and she knew that. he looked to her, and smirked. he laughed, and then said" alright, not that hard to 'pay' you back." he chuckled, and got out the pot that he needed to cook the pasta in. he filled it with water, and then turned on the stove, placing it down. he smirked, and then grabbed the other pan that he used to cook the sauce in.
he smiled, and then said" i'd like to keep my house, nicole." he laughed, and then walked to the fridge, grabbing the package of chicken out of the spot. he closed the fridge, walking to the counter, he took the chicken out of the package. he grabbed the cutting board from it's spot, and then the knife he usually used for this stuff. he cut the four big piece of meat, up into eight smaller pieces. he smiled, and then went to the other side. he mixed the water, checking if it was boiling. he moved to the cabinet, grabbing the glass pan, and then moved to the chicken. he placed the pieces in there, and then went to get the stuff that covered it.
he poured it over the chicken, making sure to get every inch of them. he smirked, and then walked to the oven. he opened the door, placing the glass pan in there. he turned it on bake, and then closed the door. he stired the water one last time, before pouring the pasta into the pot. he looked up to nic, and said" i think, i should like be a chef. but, ain't my thing."

Nicole shook her head as she watched him do his thing. She really knew next to nothing about cooking. The few things that she had tried to make had turned out awful. So, watching him make pasta, no matter how simple it might be, seemed to have her attention. It was kind of strange at how a girl who liked everything fancy, complicated, and just upper scale, could be so amused at something so simple. She'd given up on learning to cook, but watching Ryder cook was still interesting.
Well, that, and it gave her a reason not to clean the living room just yet. Nicole smirked, rolling her eyes again at Ryder's next comment. "I'm not that bad of a cook! I'm just as good, if not better, than you." Not really, but Ryder already knew that. She was curious as to what he was making. It was starting to look more complicated as he added chicken, but it smelled good.
"It ain't your thing?" She repeated. Nicole leaned against a chair, raising her eyebrow once more. "Why not? I think you'd be pretty good at it, Ry. I mean, you can cook better than anyone I know." Which, didn't say a whole lot. Nicole's entire family could cook about as well as she could. And, her father, though he was a good cook, found it much simpler to just order food or pay someone to cook for his family. He and Nicole had a very similar outlook on life. But, still, Ryder seemed to be a good cook. Nicole was surely impressed.

he started with the pasta, stiring it making sure it was all ready. he took a piece of it, and touched it. it was almost there. he sighed, and then stepped away for a minute, sometimes it was just too much heat at once. he smirked, and then, got the sauce out. he always did it out of a bottle, yet heated it up this way, since it tasted better. he poured it into the pot, and turned the stove on, and took another spoon to it, stiring it. he sighed, and then looked back at nicole.
he wasn't going to clean too, so she would have too. "nic, i love you talking to me, but please, clean. they'll make it ten times messier if you don't pick it up, and then you'll really hate it later." he knew this already. he knew what to do, he did it everyday. if he didn't clean before they got up, the mess just got ten times worse, which was a bummer to clean at nine oclock at night. he sighed, and then said" nic, you'd burn my house down, i already know that."
he laughed and said" no, it really isn't my thing." he looked to the spagetti, testing it. it was almost there, he stired the sauce, knowing that would be good in a second. he opened the stove door, checking the chicken, yup almost there too. he looked back at her and said" i'd be good, but, it's not something i would do everyday for a job. i already do it everyday, for myself, and kids." he smiled, and then said" do you even know what i want to do?"

Nicole watched as Ryder continued to work on the food. She was quickly losing interest in this now, wishing that she wouldn't have broke off his kiss. The make out session was much preferred to their new tasks at hand. So, she moved closer to the stove now, smiling lightly as she watched him work at the food. It actually did smell really good. She rolled her eyes once more as he stated that he knew she'd burn his house down. There was no point in arguing that, anymore. She'd experienced enough kitchen fires in her lifetime to justly never be allowed to cook again. It was a wonder she hadn't burned a house down, yet.
At his next words, though, her smiled turned into a small frown. Things get messier? Nicole felt her stomach sink, her mind flashing back to when the children were younger. Even from a young age they had been full of energy and quite the mess makers. Nicole hated to clean up after them. "Fine," She muttered, making her way out of the kitchen. "But, I'm holding to the 'you owe me.'" It was a quick walk to the living room, at which, Nicole nearly froze in the doorway. It was quite the mess, and she hated cleaning.
Rolling her eyes once more, she forced herself on in, remembering the promise she had made herself. She wanted them back, and if this was what it took... then, this is what she'd do. She picked up toys, stacking them in the corner together. She didn't know where Ryder wanted them, but as long as they were together, she figured that it wouldn't matter. She placed them neatly, organizing them by type, an almost obsessive habit she'd developed. At least if she was going to clean, she'd do it efficiently. She then straightened the pillows, and picked up any miscellaneous things her eyes set sight on. It was really amazing at what a mess two kids could make.
Once things met Nicole's standards, she made her way back to the kitchen to resume their previous conversation. Straightening things up really hadn't taken as long as she had thought it would. The blond sat down at the table and turned to watch Ryder. "Living room's done." She stood, turning the chair so the back was facing Ryder and placing one leg on each side of the back before sitting back down. She rested her arms and head on the back as she waited for Ryder to finish cooking. At his question, she shook her head slightly. She honestly couldn't remember what he had wanted to do. "No... tell me?"

as nicole ran off to clean, ryder finished up with the sauce, got two kid plates out, and two for himself and nicole, drained and put the pasta into a big bowl. he stired, and finished the sauce, and took the chicken out. he placed the pan of chicken on the stove, shutting off the stove completly. he then together, made two little plates for the children, before placing the chicken with the pasta, he cut the chicken up into small pieces, and then cut the pasta up as well. he took a spoonfull of sauce drizzling it ontop of the two plates.
he placed both in the cooling little thing by the fridge for a few seconds, knowing that it was too hot for his kids. he then grabbed put pasta on his plate for himself. he sighed, and took the chicken he wanted, and then put some sauce on it. he looked up once he saw nicole had come into the kitchen. he smiled, and said" good job, princess." he laughed and said" the pasta is there, the sauce is there, and chicken. go ahead and make your plate. i don't really know how you like it too much, so i just left it to you." he then moved to the cooler and grabbed the plates out. he placed them on the table, and then grabbed the booster seat, and buckled it in. he pulled over the high chair for kaylee, and put her plate on it.
he sighed, and then said" twenty more minutes, and they need to be woken up. you get bently. kaylee will flip, if she doesn't see my face." he laughed, and then said" i work with my uncle right now, at his car place. i'm going to open my own shop, to work on cars."

Nicole rolled her eyes as he, once again, referred to her as 'princess.' She hated that nickname, and she always had. Ryder always just seemed to use it to annoy her, and it seemed to work quite well. "Don't call me princess," She muttered softly, shaking her head. It took quite a bit to get Nicole to show her annoyance, but it didn't much to annoy Nicole. Calling her 'princess' seemed to get under her skin the quickest, though. She hated the name with a passion, and Ryder was well aware of that. It was probably the sole reason he still called her 'princess.'
The smell of the food made her smile slightly, and then she nodded as he told her she could help herself. Nicole remained seated, however, deciding that she'd have plenty of time to fix herself a plate. She was hungry, but she was still watching her calories, as always. She would eat, she just liked to put it off a bit. "Alright, I'll get some here in a few." The blond remained seated backward on the chair as she watched Ryder move around to get the kids' things ready. Twenty minutes until they got up? Where had their hour gone?
Nicole found herself both disappointed and eager about the kids already just twenty minutes away from returning. She missed them dearly and wanted to spend time with them, but she also wanted to spend time with Ryder. Boy, had she missed him. She tried not to show her disappointment, though, instead giving a grin. "Sounds like a plan. Where did the hour go, though?" She laughed slightly, shaking her head at her own thoughts. As Ryder mentioned what it was that he wanted to be, she found herself tensing slightly. A mechanic. That was interesting. She couldn't help but to drift to thoughts of the future. What if they did get married one day? Interior decorating and car mechanics was an interesting combination. But, that would be a while off, anyhow. She pulled herself back, nodding once more. "Mechanics? That's... interesting. I had forgot that you were into that." She admitted, sheepishly. A year really had been too long.
