Sophia walked silently, tears dried on her cheeks, making a shiny trail all the way down to her chin. Sophia walked hugging her arms, her shoes untied and her Pjs still on. Thankfully it was around two in the morning, so she was able to avoid the strange look she would most likely have received if it had been earlier. It was a hot night, but I light breeze played with her hair and T-shirt. Yep, she was a hot mess; her hair stuck out in all sorts of angle, her clothes were wrinkled, and worst of all her lip was split and her cheeks red from being assaulted. Kris had beat her again, and as soon as she could she ran out of her apartment and into the opposite direction. She was afraid he would follow her, so she had weaved in and out of alleys, taking every turn she could to get more lost. She had somehow ended up on the street Brandons lives on, and since she had no where else to go, she made way to her brother.
Sophia knew he was going to give her hell, but what other choice did she have? Going home wasn’t exactly a option right now. Not unless she liked to get beaten, which she really didn’t. So jogged up to Brandons door, hoping he didn’t have…..’company’. Gah, that would suck so bad, honestly she wouldn’t know how to handle that, it would be just plain awkward. His roommate could also have some ‘company’ over, oh gosh, what if her brother wasn’t home? She prayed it was Brandon who opened the door, not his roommate, and only Brandon. It would be hard to explain the bruises and cuts to anyone else. If anyone besides her brothers found out about Kris she swore she would have a mental breakdown.
So paused at the door, leaning her forehead against the wood. She wished her relationship didn’t have so many problems, she wished even more she could leave it, but she had her reasons for not doing so. She knocked on the door, and stood there for a moment. Was he out at the bar? She suddenly felt bad, she hated to wake him, if that was the case. She didn’t leave though, she had no choice. Even if she had to sleep outside, she wasn’t going back to her apartment.
