THE WORLD ENDS TONIGHT.
UNLESS WE DANCE OR DIE. Teddy said, stepping away from her, feeling a gust of wind hit the side of his face as he did, blowing his blonde hair into his eyes. He looked at her, seeing her stagger and teeter around was not how he imagined tonight. He was thoroughly too sober for this right now. "I... I can't believe I'm saying this, but no," Teddy told her, with a small shrug. "You are too good for this, you're too sweet..." Teddy insisted. "And I'm not enough of an asshole," he added, and looked across the gazebo at the empty cup he'd dropped which had rolled across to the other side. He looked across at her again, worried about her drunken reaction to his rejection. In her intoxicated state, his otherwise valid excuse probably meant nothing, she would just hear the words 'no'. And his assumption was correct; Kayla looked at him, wide eyed and taken aback at his ‘no’, not absorbing or caring for any of the words spoken after this. She stumbled back against the wall, losing the stability he had been providing her. He’d just been leading her on all this time? He’d been making out with her, giving her all the signs and yet had no intention of going any further?
”If you didn’t like me, you could have just said..earlier...like maybe before you got groping up my dress!” she growled, pushing past him and stepping out of the gazebo, forgetting her shoes entirely. The fact that she had actively encouraged this ‘groping’ was irrelevant in her anger. She walked quickly across the lawn, her head spinning even more wildly than before and the ground seeming to sway as she stepped on it. She wanted to run but feared her feet would not be able to cope with that speed of movement. They barely seemed to be coping now and her line towards the kitchen was one with a definite wave to it as she swayed from side to side as she walked.
After tripping up the step into the kitchen, Kayla re-established her footing and made straight to the drinks. It was plain to see to everyone that the last thing she needed was more alcohol but yet she reached for a cup regardless and began downing it at an alarming rate. At least if she passed out it would help her forget the fact she had been rejected, hopefully the entire night would be remembered as nothing more than a blur. The sharp alcohol tang hit the back of her throat as she stumbled once more, grabbing hold of the counter to steady herself.

THE WORLD ENDS TONIGHT.
UNLESS WE DANCE OR DIE. Teddy said, realizing nothing he said would probably get through to her, and he just hoped she wasn't going to end up like the guy he'd seen outside. "I like you," Teddy said, loudly over the noise of the party. How do you explain to a drunk girl you like her enough not to sleep with her when she's drunk? "Please, Kayla, I'm sorry, but..." Teddy said, apologising for nothing, because he just assumed she'd like to hear that word right now. "Look, d'ya want me to take you home?" Teddy asked. He didn't have his car, and good thing too, because he too was fairly drunk, but he could walk her or get them both a cab. [/ul]

Whilst she would certainly appreciate it in the morning, at this moment Kayla found it difficult to comprehend Teddy’s point of view. As far as she was concerned, things had been going great and then he had just turned her down. Maybe she was drunk and confused or maybe the concept of someone caring enough to put your future feelings in front of their current ones was just too alien. Either way, she was pretty crestfallen.
Spotting the random guy eyeing her up, Kayla finished up her drink, resolving to go over there and show Teddy what he was missing. But, just then, he approached her, clutching her shoes in his hand. Kayla glanced at her feet, genuinely surprised that the shoes were not on them. Looking up again, she listened to his explanation, it still not making a huge amount of sense. Kayla chewed her lip, her blue eyes glistening with tears, ready to fall at any moment. The alcohol did not help with this of course, giving her that wobbly emotional feeling on top of everything. ”It’s okay” she nodded, much calmer now, almost defeated. Screaming and shouting were not her thing and besides, what good would they do in changing his mind. She looked back towards the leering guy briefly, deciding against doing anything stupid. As much as she was up for things with Teddy, she wouldn’t just sleep with a complete randomer solely out of hurt and rejection. In which case there was little option left but to go home, Kayla didn’t exactly feel like carrying on the party now.
”It’s fine, I’ll walk” she smiled gently, still chewing her lip sadly. This was hardly the most sensible idea and Kayla was unsure if she was even able to make it home unassisted but she would try, she really wanted nothing less than a long awkward walk home with him right now. ”See you” she said softly, despite the noise of the crowd. With this, Kayla took her shoes from him and walked out towards the front door, stumbling a few times on the way. She figured it would be easier to walk barefoot than to attempt it in heels. Luckily the alcohol had numbed her feet sufficiently to at least make the walk home bearable.

"I'm walking you home," he instructed her, whether she liked it or not, she was stuck with him. He would return to the party after dropping her off and making sure she was safe.[/ul]

Kayla was making her way down the driveway when Teddy appeared once more. She nodded silently her acceptance at his statement, figuring that he wouldn’t accept her reassurances that she would be fine on her own even if she tried. Besides, Kayla was too tired for an argument and in all honesty, whilst she hadn’t wanted Teddy to walk her home, she decided it probably was best that somebody walked her home. She way swaying and struggling already and the last drink hadn’t even had time to take effect yet. At least when it did, she was less likely to end up unconscious at the side of the road on her own, sitting duck for some unsavoury character.
Kayla got closer to him and wrapped her arm around his chest, careful not to bash him with her shoes. She rested her head on him as they walked, making it even more difficult to make a straight line. She was past trying to flirt with him, this was just the sheer drunken need for a cuddle- some support, both physically and emotionally. She didn’t say a word as they walked towards home, deciding that they had both said what they had needed to.
