Calder was sore from head to toe and had a fresh black eye to accentuate his facial features. Anger burned inside him, radiating from the headache that came with his shiner. The strong emotion made him even more aware of his bodily aches and injuries. Not all of it was from his father, but most. The black eye for instance was fresh from that morning. The other aches were an after effect of the mile sprint he had done after taking the fist in his face. Exercising was how Cale beat out his emotions. His father used Cale, Cale used the pavement. He wanted to fight back but didn't want to stoop to that level. He wanted to be above his father. He was still waiting for karma to kick in, but so far all he found was disappointment. He could tell at any time. He should tell; he wanted to tell, but who knew what would happen if nothing came of it. Would they believe him? Until that answer was a definitive "yes", Cale kept his mouth shut. Because he knew if it came to bite him in the ass things would be worse, much worse.
The pool was empty, much to his surprise and relief. He would rather have the place to himself. Dropping his towel off on a near by chair, Cale also placed his phone there with it before pulling off his shirt. He winced from the pain of the tender bruises on his back only beginning to heal, but knew the cool water would help. He wasted no time stepping down the ladder into the deep end of the indoor pool, pushing off and floating on his back to the center. He sighed deeply, the cool water felt good against his sore muscles and his head. He floated leisurely for a while before making his way to the nearest end and began doing laps. With each length he became faster, beating the water with his hands and feet as he swam the length of the pool. Again. And again. Cale ignored his resisting muscles, finding the pain was taking away his anger. He wasn't counting the laps, but he probably did about two dozen before stopping. Pulling his torso onto the ledge, he panted, trying to catch his breath while wiping the chlorinated water from his eyes, being tender around his bruised face.

Push the limit, are you with it, baby, don’t be afraid Let’s go, it’s my show, baby, do what I say[/color] Lucas admired the water slowly from the distance, observing the calm yet subtle waves that slowly crashed around the edges of the pool. It wasn't exactly a specular sight but it had the calming effect that Lucas desperately needed. Something about water always seemed to intrigue Lucas. He never exactly had time to enjoy the water since he was busy at the college, but luckily today it was all dedicated to him and the pool. Sure, he'd swim some laps for a while, tiring himself in the process by all of the constant movement it required. Mostly he just wanted to lay back and float for awhile to get his mind off of things. Lucas wasn't much of a swimmer but today he knew that the water was just the remedy he needed.
It had been a rough past couple of days between him and his family, not that it came as much of a surprise to Lucas. His family was perhaps the definition of the word drama because they all hated each other with every morsel of their being, except for Lucas, who somehow always seemed to be thrust into the middle of every ordeal that came his families way. He pulled his shirt off from his body slowly, revealing the unusual and unsightly tan he had on his firm muscular frame, only to observe the water once more. It was then that he noticed that he wasn't exactly alone, instead joined by another boy. The boy was presumably younger than Lucas, attractive and built as if he was a swimmer. Lucas didn't feel like observing the boy as he swam because he didn't want to appear (or feel) as if he was being a creeper in this situation.
Lucas shouldn't of been there. He should have been out at the bar with his 'brothers' knocking back a few beers with the guys and looking like asses while trying to pick up the female patrons at the same time, but Lucas had yet again bailed out on them. Although he casually slept with women to preserve his stature as a "straight frat boy" it was uncomfortable to Lucas to continue to try and show everyone the mask he continued to hold up. Lucas wasn't straight, he knew it but he would never admit it no matter what he went through. Too much was at stake. If his family found out, he was sure to be dead and his reputation would be ruined at this school. Not gonna happen. Only Fallon knew the real Lucas, the scared gay kid that worried how people viewed him.
Lucas jumped into the pool, allowing himself to become fully submerged in the chlorinated water. As he gently began to rise to the top, he felt his hand touch human skin, presumably the skin of the boy who had been swimming. Upon getting to the surface, Lucas wiped the water from his eyes as he spoke to the boy. "Sorry about that, I should of watched where I jumped I guess..." he said casually as he looked at the boy once more, an uncontrollable smile beginning to show up on his face. He waded back about a half step as he thought about what the boy might of said next. Would he be mad that Lucas interrupted his isolated swimming. It was then that he noticed the black eye that they boy had been sporting on his face. The bruise looked tender as ripe as if it had happened not long ago. Lucas hesitated for a bit before deciding not to say anything more.
