The first thing that Josh noticed as he entered his house was the scraps of brightly coloured fabric that lay all over the floor. Picking them up, he made his way to the kitchen, where his wonderful dog was sat looking at him, with a very innocent look on her face. The innocence was ruined by the remains of the dog bed were scattered everywhere. “Sky, what did you do?” He was trying to make his tone angry, but it wasn’t working. She was just too damn adorable to be mad at. Besides, it was his fault for leaving her alone for too long. As he dumped his bag on the table, he spoke. “Come on, walkies.” At that one word, Sky started to bounce around the kitchen, clearly happy at the prospect of going out. Quickly swapping his work shoes for a more suitable pair of trainers, he clipped her lead on and was nearly dragged out of the door by the enthusiastic dog.
After a few minutes of walking, the pair reached the lake. It was pretty much deserted, although Josh did spot a few people playing soccer on the other side of the water. He looked around quickly just to make sure and then let Sky off the lead, satisfied that there were no people around that she could annoy. Instantly she ran into the water and paddled around for a bit, before tearing back to Josh so that he could throw the ball that he was holding. He obliged, throwing it into the water where it floated as Sky chased it. Again and again he threw the ball for her, before she finally tired and swam back to shore for the last time, shaking off her wet coat as she got onto land. Also tired, Josh sat down on the grass and just enjoyed the peace and quiet. Sky had flopped down on her side next to him and was panting. Perhaps tonight he could get a decent night’s sleep without being woken up by the hyperactive puppy. A cool breeze blew over the area, indicating that night was near but Josh was in no hurry to leave. It was nice, just sitting down and relaxing. He didn’t get to do it very often.
Notes: Here's what the dog looks like, in case you were interested. Also, I apologise for the horribleness of this post, geography revision is killing my muse.

[size=1Two miles into his run and Lucas was damn near ready to call it quits. Lucas had always prided himself as a gym buff, someone who would spend most of his time at the gym or outside doing something fitness related. Runs like this never used to faze him...until now. Lately, Lucas had been overwhelmed with the "freshman fifteen', except he was a senior in college and a proud member of Sigma Pi, a fraternity that prides itself on being 'the best drinking fraternity ever'. Yeah. Cool. Two miles into his run. Two freaking miles, and he was ready to give up. That wasn't like Lucas at all. He sighed as he tried to slow his sprint into a jog, but his body wasn't having it, instead forcing himself to a complete walk as if to say "try again next time".
Lucas' heart was beating far more rapidly then usual, his body succumbing to the nice summer breeze and the icy cold water of the lake continuing to taunt Lucas. Half of him wanted to rip of his dark tank top and jump into the lake to satisfy his urge, but he refused. He didn't have a towel to dry off on, and it was getting late. The lake was just asking him to jump in and suffer as he made to lonely trek back to his car. Lucas stood there in silence, watching the waves crash onto the shore as if it was a movie on repeat. It was quite the sight. The sun slowly setting, bringing out the vibrant colors of the sunset that was breathtakingly amazing. This satisfied him more then his urge to jump into the depths of the water.
After a few minutes, he turned around, surprised to see the man sitting down with his dog sleeping soundly by his side. The dog was rather cute, seemingly worn out perhaps from the fun the owner had with him. Normally, Lucas wasn't the one of initiate conversation, but it didn't help that he didn't really know anyone in this town outside of Alice. He silently walked over toward the man and smiled softly. "What kind of dog is that?" he said blankly, "He's pretty adorable." WOW. That was all he could think of to say? No wonder he hardly had friends. He had piratically embarrassed himself before the other man even had a chance to speak. Wow.
Sorry this post sucks. It's 1:25 in the morning and I had to finish this. Stupid work and getting off late!:/ [/size][/blockquote]
