- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - this was still fairly new to maria. sure, she have had boyfriends before. but it had never been this obvious. maria was insanely much in love with anthony, but she couldn't bring it over her little lips to say, just yet. because she was sure that he somehoe only started dating her out of pity. maria wasn't sure that he will ever or can love her. they had only dated for about a week and it scared the crap out of her how attached she already had gotten to him. but the truth was that she had been in love with him, almost from the day they became friends. she knew back then, that he was an awesome person and it didn't hurt that he was good looking too. as the time went on, his looks came in second row and his unique personality was what really spoke to her. and now they were dating and maria couldn't be happier. it was early to say after a week, but she really wanted everything with him.
nevertheless, it was still a big deal whenever he found her on the hallways and smiled at her and then planted a kiss on her lips. it blew her away every time. right now, she was standing with her head in her locker, looking over a few books, that she was needing for her next class. her major was art history, something that had always interested her - it didn't interested anthony at all, but he seemed supportive enough about it, and no matter how much she loved this boy, he could never talk her into starting a new study. art history was who she was. and maria was supportive of whatever he did, she tried, even though at times he could a be nothing but a big boy, but she took it with a smile, because of how much she loved him.
maria didn't heard anything other than her own voice, reading over some important lines in a big, fat book. in the distance she could hear the noise from the other college students, but was pretty good at blocking them, when she needed to be focused. right at once, she felt a hand running down her back, quickly she looked up and saw behind her locker and saw anthony. a smile crept across her lips.

Anthony knew this would be trouble for him from the first day they laid eyes on each other all that time ago. Maria was pleasant, sweet, considerate, and most definitely gorgeous. Keeping their friendship as 'just that' would have never lasted - eventually one of them would have wound up asking the other out, but Tony had beat it to the punch line, so to speak. He had to have her. Not in a possessive sense, but just to have that warming satisfaction that he could call her his own, and for her the same thing back. What was it that was so strong between them, creating this magnetic pull as opposites often did? Tony would jump at the opportunity to call it love. He'd scream it from the roof tops if he could, if that nagging fear of rejection wasn't always looming over his shoulder.
Love... oh how he wished he could just get the balls to tell her. It'd been a week, a relationship only just now starting to bloom as those 'just friends' ties started to fall away into something more. Something beautiful, exciting, and frightening at the same time. Tony knew how he could be with people, especially those he cared about. He usually wound up being over protective. Not necessarily suffocating, as he didn't need to be right up in people's faces, but he most certainly was from afar. If anyone even looked at Maria the wrong way, death glares would be sent from all around from the boy. Whether others were involved or not. He'd never run into the issue of people giving her dirty looks, how could they with a face like hers? And a heart even bigger? Most of them that he noticed came from the guys, giving themselves long, drawn out and obvious eyefulls of his girlfriend. Which was definitely -not- okay. And Tony made sure to call them out on it promptly.
When it came to Maria, he'd give his all away to her in order to make sure she was comfortable, happy, and safe. But how do you tell someone that when you'd only been dating for a week? Honestly for him, it felt much longer than that. He'd had real feelings for her somewhere later on down the road in their friendship, and only just now was he able to express it. In small quantities, though. He had to do it that way, else risk her thinking he was some kind of over-loving freak. So what was the game plan? Make it seem like this had all been done before, something... casual. That ought to cover up his feelings for a little while until he could finally express himself, he figured.
Walking down the hallway with one shoulder strap of his bag tossed casually over, his dark eyes scanned the gathering crowd of college students that were either just getting out of class, or dragging their feet going to one. For him, his classes were done for the day. Yet he wasn't going back to the dorms at this very moment. Right now, he was looking for Maria with that big, dopey smile on his face. It was always there when she was on his mind. As he rounded the corner, he spotted the back of her familiar head and casually sauntered over towards her locker. It was amazing how light and airy she could make him feel.. even from a distance. Leaning against the locker with his shoulder, Tony gently trailed a finger down the back of her spine with a light chuckle, catching the book she was reading out of the corner of his eye as she turned around.
"Even outside of class, you're reading."
he remarked gingerly, his face lighting up the moment their eyes met for that brief moment. Without missing a beat, he leaned forward and kissed the top of her forehead softly before slipping his arms around her waist, cradling her there with him for a moment as he looked down at her, smile still ever present. "Hey," he greeted rather late, shrugging his shoulders up lightly before his gaze drifted off down the hall, a thought crossing his mind. "You up for a bite? The cafeteria should still be open. ..That is, if you have time." Even now, he found her schedule hard to follow sometimes. Tony wasn't one hundred percent sure on the time in between her classes, but it didn't bother him any. The boy was completely flexible to her time hours, always putting her before himself. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - she smiled at him when he start talking and blushed a little bit. "well, yes! i have to be able to spend time with you, therefore i have to read in between classes!" she said and smiled at him, still slightly pink in her cheeks. but then he pulled her in and kissed her forehead and smiled at her. maria loved his smile more than anything, it somehow gave her hope. and it didn't felt like false hope. it could be, but she certainly didn't hope so. and then he looked down at her, sent her a bright, happy smile and said "hey". it was adorable, anthony was adorable - perfect in every sense. every inch of him was beyond perfect. "hey tony.." she said, standing on her toes and kissed his cheek, while caressing his other cheek with her one hand.
then he mentioned the cafeteria and some food. now that she thought about it, she was actually really hungry. before she answered him, she tried grabbing her book, the one she had been reading in, just a minute ago, but then she saw it in anthony's hand and smiled. maria smiled at him. "i would love to grab a bite with you, tony!" she said, maybe a little bit too over ecstatic. "i have about thirty-five minutes until my last class for today.." she said and grabbed his hand, intertwining their fingers. and then she started walking with her bag over her shoulder. it was kind of heavy, but him carrying her heaviest book certainly helped a lot.
