jayden was running, without steroids. this was big feat for him, seeing how whenever there was something to do that required a lot of physical work, he injected himself with steroids. the steady rhythm of his breaths were relaxing him, and he kept going with every muscle of his body. his legs ached, and his arms were getting tired from pumping him forward, but he was doing it. jayden wasn't sure how long he had been running, and where he was running to. he found himself passing the lake, which was right near the park. jayden had always liked the park. there was something about being near people that attracted him. jayden was generally a nice guy. some people found him annoying because the fact he could be a little cocky when it came to sports. he couldn't help it at times, sports were his thing. even if he was doing it illegally.
as his breaths quickened, jayden found himself getting more tired by the minute. he hadn't been working out for the past few weeks, and he was regretting it now. he had been too busy party hopping, and getting drunk. normally he didn't like to drink, but his friends brought out his wild side. and he was surrounded by girls, and boy did he like girls. there were a few girls crushing on him, but he wasn't sure if he was really into any of them. right at the moment he wanted to stay single, but he knew that things came when you least expected them. if there was an amazing girl who he wanted to be with, then he would be with her.
as the park came to view, jayden decided to go visit, and see if there was anyone there that he wanted to hang out with. jayden needed some social interaction. sitting at home doing things by himself was just not what he was into. sitting down a bench, he pulled his phone out from a little pocket in his shorts. he opened his phone and looked to see if he had any texts. none. he was obviously going to have to find his own plans for the night. closing his eyes for a moment, jayden let his body rest, before having a little kid run into his feet trying to catch a frisbee. opening his eyes, he smiled down at the kid. he remembered when he was a little boy. boy, how he missed those days. when he was younger he didn't have to worry about girl drama, and getting caught partying. his parents hated when he stumbled into the house past two in the morning, barely being able to stand. it was all apart of growing up to him, and you had to have fun since you only lived once. taking a deep breath, he raised himself from the bench looking to see if anyone was there that he knew.

hannah trotted along the park's walkway rather slowly, absorbing the nearby scenery as she made her way along the curved path of the park. she had to admit that she wasn't much of an outside person, rather enjoying most of her time at parties or hanging out with the girls. her mother had often scolded her for not coming home after one of her drunken nights, but hannah normally shunned them off. she knew that her parents would get over it, they always have, but hannah started to wonder why exactly she continued to drink and party with people she didn't really like. hannah walked along the dusty walkway, her hair pulled up into a messy bun, a rosewood sweatshirt pulled over her white shirt. she wasn't exactly looking at her best, but she didn't have to worry about being caught by one of her "friends".
hannah was a mystery of all mysteries, typically adapting to her surroundings because it enhanced her social image. nobody knew about how she transformed from her chubby, friendless past, they only cared about her new look - the attractive, party hopping bitch who didn't care what people thought. if people knew that she actually did care they would have ruined her. it was silly of hannah to believe that she had to pretend to be someone she wasn't in order to keep her friends, but hannah knew better. her friends were hypocritical, judgmental, and quite frankly, bitchy girls that spent hours upon hours devising plans to ruin girls they didn't like.
hannah continued along the path, her lips pursed together as she watched the little kids play carelessly in the field. she couldn't help but smile as she seen the kids yelling and running freely. it was cute seeing the kids play without any form of care in the world. they just ran and enjoyed each moment of it, not falling for the trap that most teenagers fell into as they got older. part of hannah envied the kids. why did she have to worry about her social image? it wasn't like people wouldn't of liked her if they actually knew about her insecurities. she pulled out her iphone from her shorts pocket and checked her phone. one missed call. hannah thought about potentially calling back, but decided against it. she looked into the distance and seen the figure of a boy from the distance, he seemed to of looked familiar but hannah wasn't quite sure.
she worked her way toward the figure and was surprised when she discovered who the figure was. jayden. her ex boyfriend. hannah had broken up with jayden almost two years ago, right as her transformation started and they lost touch. it had to be weird, especially since she and camden seemed to have gotten closer over the past few weeks and camden was his best friend. cam had no idea about jayden and hannah's past and hannah wasn't going to be the one to tell. she would rather lie to him then share that secret, and it didn't help that hannah still had feelings for him. she made her way toward him, a half-smile on her face as she placed her hand on his shoulder. "hey." she said softly, her hand brushing against her hair.

jayden was enjoying his surroundings, and the weather above him. it was a beautiful day, the sun was shining bright, and it was warm, but not too cold and not too hot. perfect. days like these were the best for jayden, and he loved when he could play a game in this weather. he wasn't too fond of the rain, ever since he broke his leg once sliding into home base in a rain storm. he was lucky enough that the injury healed, and the doctors didn't restrict him from playing any of his favorite games. if he hurt his leg too bad, they would probably say he could only do swimming. he hated swimming, unless it consisted of swimming with a hot girl in a bikini. jayden wasn't a perv, but he liked to look. and he didn't really want to date any ugly girls, as bad as that sounded. jayden saw himself as a good looking boy, nothing special, but definitely not bad to look at. he would probably think different if it wasn't for all the girls who hit on him at games. over the year he had gotten many numbers from girls, but it never went farther than a couple of dates. he just wasn't interested in anyone.
jayden looked around a bit. no one that he knew so far was around. unless there was a little kid around that he may have babysat in the past, but other than that, no one. it would be weird for him to try and walk up to a random person and try to make conversation. last time he did that to a guy, it resulted in a bloody nose. after that, jayden gave up on trying to be friendly. if it was someone at school, that was a different story. jayden took a small breath, heading into the grass a little bit. he debated on being a little childish and going to play on the slides or something, but he gave up on that idea quickly. knowing his luck someone from school would catch him, and then they'd never let him live it down. if there was one thing jayden hated more than anything, it was embarrassment. it was one of his biggest fears. he feared doing something stupid in front of a large crowd, cause he was the type to feel horrible about it for awhile.
jayden let out a sigh, feeling a bit bored now. he needed someone to come and talk to him, or he'd end up going home. being alone was not for him. suddenly he felt a hand on his shoulder, and he jumped a little bit, from not paying attention and wondering who was touching him. he looked at the culprit. hannah. taking a small breath he smiled. "hey. how are you? " it had been awhile since jayden had gotten to talk to her, but since they shared camden as a friend, he kept seeing her around. honestly, jayden had never fully gotten over her, not that he'd admit it. if anyone would know, it would be camden. camden just knew when jayden liked somebody. jayden looked at hannah with a smile.

the fact that jayden and camden were best friends made things extremely difficult for hannah. in a perfect world, hannah would avoid all conversation with jayden so she could fully submerge herself in camden. camden was, at one point, her closest friend before she became lipton's new "it" girl. when hannah was friendless and overweight, she knew that camden was going to be by her side no matter what happened, but as soon as she became popular she ended conversations with him. if only he knew about the eating disorders, the lies and the games she played to maintain her social standing, he would have avoided her like the plague. But he didn't know. He didn't know any of the things she had done. He just knew that she changed, but since they have started talking again all of the old feelings they had have come back up.
normally that wouldn't have bothered her, except the fact that shortly after her transformation she met jayden and they indeed started dating. in some respects jayden was perhaps the best thing that could of happened to hannah, and for that reason she wasn't quite over him. but could he know that? absolutely not. if he knew, he could use that as leverage to break things up for camden and her, that was...if he was over her. she glanced at him once more, a smile creeping on her face as she observed him. he was still attractive, definitely, but he looked a bit surprised to see her. the hannah he knew wouldn't of been caught dead at a park, rather spending her time shopping or tanning. she didn't care. "im good, great actually, you know..just hanging with cam and what not." she said slowly, her hands down at her side. well, that had to be awkward. "how have you been?" [sorry. brig kept IMing me and throwing off my writing...and degrassi was on. ]

when jayden met hannah awhile back, he fell for her completely. there was something about her that made him not able to pull away from her. when they were dating, he was the happiest guy alive. he was one girl that he told anything to. well, almost anything. jayden never told her his secret, of why he was so good at sports, generally because he was scared that she would judge him for that, and not want to be around him. jayden hated showing hannah his flaws. he felt like if she saw too many bad things about him, that she wouldn't want to be around him. he knew deep down that it wasn't the case, and she'd probably want to be at least his friend no matter what he did. however, jayden never fully got over hannah. that one thing that kept pulling her towards him kept him hanging on, even though he was telling himself that he needed to get over her.
it surprised jayden that he was seeing hannah at the park. he knew her as a girl who'd be out partying, making herself look pretty. she never seemed like the down to earth type of girl. jayden was never into girls like hannah, but for her he made an exception. at one point in time, he liked hannah more than he liked baseball, which was on the brink of love. he wasn't sure if he still loved her like that, but there were feelings lingering about in his body. when she smiled at him, he couldn't help but smile back at her. she was so beautiful. probably one of the most beautiful girls that jayden had ever seen in his life. "cam? ahh, one of the best guys out there. i missed a party last week, but i heard it was pretty rad." jayden rarely missed a good party, especially when cam was there. when she asked how he had been, he wasn't sure if he was supposed to lie or not. he had fallen for another girl, who only ripped his heart out by dating someone not good for him. sarah. "i've been good.. you know, the usual." it was all lies. jayden needed to find himself someone who wasn't going to tear his heart to the ground.

when it came to jayden and hannah's relationship, hannah had to say that he was perhaps one of the best boyfriends she had ever had. with jayden she knew that she could come to him about anything and he would have been as understanding as he possibly could, except for the random times his anger had taken hold of him. hannah wasn't sure where exactly the anger stemmed from, but it didn't bother hannah, especially since she wasn't sure what the root of the problem was. she worried how jayden would of reacted if she told him that she wasn't always this...attractive. if he knew about her eating habits, he surely would have strayed as far away from her as possible, hannah was sure of that. it was okay, he didn't need to know. one little secret from him couldn't of hurt, a mean everyone has a secret, right?
his smile caused hannah to giggle a bit to herself as she moved the hair from her eyes sort of habitually. jayden had a cute, infectious smile that caused hannah to melt every time he did it. he was attractive, perhaps one of lipton's finest, and hannah sure was happy to see him. "yeah, it was alright. sure would have been better if you were there." she said with yet another smile. so there was truths to that statement. sure, it would have been awkward with her and cam spending time together and it could of made jayden uncomfortable, but at the same time hannah wouldn't of minded if jayden would have came. she was almost oblivious to how jayden had been recently because she was so wrapped up in camden, but it was nice to finally have a one on one with one of her ex boyfriends. "that's good to hear.." her voice trailing off. part of hannah wanted to hear that jayden missed her, because truth was, hannah missed him. but that was unlikely to happen and hannah understood it. "so what are you doing today? i was thinking we can go grab a bite to eat, like old times." she inquired, as she looked up at the boy. "of course, you're going to need to shower first" she finished with a laugh, pointing out that he had been running before she appeared.

for a split second jayden wondered if hannah was dating anyone. the thought kind of made him upset, but it was quickly replaced. he was sure that camden would have told him by now if she was, since jayden asked about her frequently. however, jayden would never admit this to her. there were times when he sat there thinking about her, wondering if he ever crossed her mind. or was she too busy out with friends to think about him? if he ever saw her out with another guy, he wouldn't know what to say. if jayden had the chance, he'd date her again, but at some point he was going to have to move on. there were some girls he'd consider dating, but none of them were as amazing as hannah. jayden was sure he'd love her even if she was fat an ugly, that was how much he had begun to care about her.
he frowned when she said the party would have been better if he was there. jayden had a game that night, so it made him unavailable to go out and party it up. "i wish i could have gone, but i had a game. but if this makes it any better, we won." he smiled. hannah knew how important sports were to jayden. jayden took a deep breath, before the thought that maybe hannah was seeing someone else came back to him. she HAD been spending a lot of time with cam. it'd just suck for jayden if camden and hannah had something going on. letting out a small sigh, jayden looked over at her. "do you and cam have anything going on?" he couldn't help it. he just had to know the answer to that. jayden really did miss hannah, and if he didn't he wouldn't be caring that she could be out with other guys. it made him jealous to see her even with guy friends sometimes. jayden looked down at his outfit, before chuckling. "you don't wanna go out to eat with a sweaty guy in sweat pants? that hurts." sarcastically, he placed his hands over his heart, pretending that her words hurt.

hannah felt guilty whenever she hung out with camden and it was all jayden's fault - not intentionally of course. hannah knew when her and camden were together it was supposed to be for them; little did she realize that she often thought about how jayden was doing. that didn't settle right with hannah. it was true, hannah had feelings for camden and knew that he could be perfect for her, but after all of the history between her and jayden she wasn't sure if it was completely possible. hannah looked away, breaking eye contact for the first time as she thought about the concept. if camden knew that she still had feelings for jayden, it would crush him and potentially ruin their relationship. hannah couldn't be that girl. she had to keep her feelings for jayden to herself...for now.
"im glad you won!" she said enthusiastically, her smile widening from ear to ear. she knew how much jayden loved sports, and it made hannah happy when she noticed that he was happy himself. "im sure you did great." jayden was awfully good when it came to baseball. hannah figured it was because he put in all of the right hard work, at least it appeared like that to hannah. she smiled at him once more, her eyes lingering on jayden for a minute - most noticeably his lips. oh how she wanted to kiss him once more. shaking off the thought she looked at him and shook her head. "cam and I? I'm not sure actually, I don't think so." she said honestly, her eyes connecting with his. it was true. she didn't know where she stood with camden. cam and hannah had been childhood friends, pulled apart by hannah's changing image, she only reconnected to him due to her relationship with jayden (that camden never knew about). "You know, he used to be my best friend."
as much as hannah liked jayden, she knew it was never going to work. she crumpled her eyebrow, frowning for a bit before cracking a sly smile. "as great as that sounds....no." she said for a bit before collapsing into his arms, her own hands pushing his hands into his chest as if she was 'helping him stab himself'. she didn't notice how close she was too him until that very moment. her hands steadily matched the rhythm of his chest expanding, her head slowly tucked under his chin. she stood there for a minute, motionless, before quickly moving back. "so, you can shower at my house. i think i still have your shorts...maybe a t-shirt." she replied with a half smile. it surprised herself that she had kept his things despite the fact that they had been broken up for quite some time, but hannah had comfort in having his things.

jayden knew that if hannah was going to date another guy, that he wished it would be camden. it would hurt him more than if she was with another guy, but he knew that camden probably wouldn't hurt her. and if he did, camden would be sure to kick his ass. he knew that bros came before hoes, but hannah wasn't just a girl to him. she was a girl that deserved the best, and if someone wasn't giving her the best, then jayden was going to step in and say something. biting his lip slightly, he was hoping that hannah wouldn't date ever again, unless it was with him. but he knew that wasn't going to happen, and it was a hypocritical thing for him to think about, since he was most likely going to date other girls. the other day he went to the movies with his friend shiloh, but it wasn't really a date. and he wasn't sure if he had feelings for her like that.
as he watched hannah get excited for him, jayden felt a huge knot in his throat. he DID do great, but he didn't do it by himself. and he wasn't talking about his friends, he was talking about his secret. there was no way he'd be winning and playing as good as he had been without it. a lot of times, he thought that it was taking over his life. no matter what, he couldn't get the guilty feeling away from his mind. "yeah.. it's great." he said, adding a small sigh to his speaking. he looked down a little when she said she didn't really know if she had something going on with camden or not. "great," he said.
jayden bit his lip slightly again, before he found hannah with her arms around him. as soon as her head was under his chin, he stroked her hair a little, thinking about kissing her head, but refraining against it. it would just lead to more feelings that he needed to shake from his body. "all right, that works for me," he said, a tint of surprise in his voice. the fact that she still had some of his clothes made him grin a little bit. jayden smiled softly, waiting for her to lead them to her house.

hannah felt as if she belonged in jayden's arms. something about the way he held her was comforting and made hannah feel as if nothing in the world mattered anymore. maybe it was the way that jayden would hold her and kiss her head, feeling his breath on her skin as he whispered to her. that wasn't right. hannah needed to shake off those feelings for him, no matter how strong she felt them at this moment. she shifted for a bit, her head resting gently on his chest. she ignored the fact that he had been sweating in his shirt - that didn't matter. what mattered is that she didn't want to be the first person to break this moment. she looked up at him when he spoke about his game, noting how his demeanor shifted to one of a somber tone. "you're not excited?!" she asked, her head lifting slowly so that she could look at him. hannah knew that something was bothering jayden - she always knew but she wouldn't pressure him into speaking if he didn't want too, but she kind of hoped he would open up to her like old times. "yeah, i'm fine with me and cam being friends."
hannah knew that jayden and camden were best friends, but she hoped that he wouldn't feel uncomfortable with her and camden dating if it did get that far. she looked at him once more, her arms grasped around him firmly still as she felt the steady heartbeat from his chest. if hannah could open up to jayden things would have been easier...if he felt the same way, but chances was that he moved on. still, it was nice for hannah and him to talk and in some way get closure. this was good for them. hannah smiled to herself as jayden agreed to go back to her house for him to change. she had kept his close over the span of her break-up because she never really got over the break up. sure she dated other guys, just like jayden had dated girls, but something about him kept her interested. "so lets get you changed, and you can pick the place we are going to eat." she said with a grin.

jayden didn't know how to come up with the words to tell hannah why he wasn't that excited that he won his game. he could tell her the truth, but then she'd know that his whole sports career was pretty much based on a lie. jayden wasn't sure if he was ever going to tell someone willingly. eventually, someone was going to catch him. and when they did, he hoped that it was someone that he could definitely trust. and when jayden made it into higher baseball leagues, if he ever made it that far, then he would be tested for steroids, and everyone would find out. it honestly worried jayden. he knew that he was going to have to find something else to do in his life besides play baseball and sit around playing video games. "i guess i am happy," he nodded, faking a small smile, knowing that hannah could see past his fake smiles. right now he hoped that for once she wouldn't see past his smile, cause he really didn't feel like explaining anything right now. jayden used to tell hannah everything, and then they lost touch. in a way he was scared of being super close to her again, mostly because of his fear of falling for her again.
it was hard for jayden to move on from someone, because when he fell for someone he ended up falling for them really hard, and then he found it hard to pick up all the pieces once it was over. jayden sometimes fell harder for someone than girls did, which some people thought was totally weird. he nodded slightly when she said to go get him cleaned up. jayden started heading to the direction of her place, looking down at the ground as he walked. "you know," he began slowly, "i really don't want you dating cam.. i guess i never fully got over you," he said. after he said it, he was mixed with emotions of regret, and relief. he was regretting saying that, in case she didn't have any feelings left for him, and he was relieved that he wasn't holding in his feelings anymore. slowly, he ran his fingers through his hair, waiting for her to reply. this could either be good, or bad. he was just waiting for the moment where he got to see.

hannah knew that jayden was keeping something from her just from the way he forced his fake smile but hannah didn't want to make her way into uncharted territory. she decided not to comment on his lie because she didn't want to pressure him into telling her something that obviously made him uncomfortable, so when he was ready he would come to her like he always did. she looked at him once more, noting how happy she had been with him when they were together, but she couldn't help but think of how he would of felt had he seen the "old" hannah. would he have felt the same way for her, knowing that she used to be 'hefty-hannah'? probably not. jayden could tell as many secrets as he wanted, because hannah was planning on keeping this from him for as long as humanly possible. she, too put up a fake smile, a nod accompanying her as she spoke. "so i bet the scholarship offers are just pouring in, right?" hannah's fear came from camden - the one boy who knew hannah before her transformation. if camden said one thing to jayden it could have changed the way he viewed hannah, and she didn't want that. she wanted to come across as perfect to jayden, even now despite the fact that this was the first interaction they've had in months, but she wanted to be everything jayden liked. she couldn't figure out why she felt the need to impress him, but she figured it was due to the fact she never quite got over him.
hannah shifted uncomfortably as she felt the demeanor of the boy change to one of a quieter and somber tone. she dug her hand into her pocket and looked at the grass below her as he spoke, her head nodding as she tried to contemplate what to say. sure, she still had feelings for him, but she was really into cam lately. it left her confused. hannah didn't want to be the bad guy, but she didn't want to give him false hope. part of her wished that she hadn't felt attracted to cam so she could focus her attention soley to jayden, but that wasn't the case. she was going to have to decide and decide now. "i don't know what to say..." she admitted, her eyes slowly tracing her way back up to jayden. she hoped that jayden knew that this wasn't something she was taking lightly. she really wanted to make the best decision for everyone. "The thing we had..the way it ended. I guess I never quite got over you either." she put up a weak smile, knowing that she wasn't out free with her answer to his question. both jayden and camden were going to make sure that hannah made a decision at some point, but until then she had to do what was best for her. she couldn't risk losing jayden, but she knew that she was going to lose one of the boys (and potentially ruin a friendship) when her decision had to be made.

jayden looked at hannah for a moment, letting out a small breath. he had no idea if he would get a scholarship or not. jayden had never been the type of guy who had excellent grades, they were mediocre, and he knew that tons of athletes around him had better grades than he. if a scholarship offer came around, they were probably going to go for a complete other person, although jayden might make it if he was lucky enough. sometimes jayden wished that he hadn't slacked off in high school, and that he put his all into it. but to him, sitting at home and watching sports games were way more important than doing homework, and spending time on essays. but jayden felt like if he spent time on homework and school, he'd have no social life. he liked going out and partying and just having an amazing time. that was his life. he lived for having fun, meeting new people, and just spending time with friends. a lot of people hated him for him, but a lot of people also loved him for him. he was content with that. "i don't know about that. you know, i've slacked off on school work to have fun, i kinda regret it now," he nodded his head slightly, looking over hannah.
jayden wouldn't, and couldn't lose a friend over a girl, but he knew that he might if hannah had to choose. it wasn't exactly the first thing he wanted, but there really was nothing to do about it. in a way, he was going to lose one of them, or both of them. however, he didn't really want to think about that, because he could get lucky and not lose either of them, which is what he hoped would happen. jayden bit his lip softly. and then she said she never fully got over him either, and he raised his eyebrow. "i don't know why it had to end," he said. jayden knew that this conversation could change things between them, but it could also make them stay the same. all jayden knew was that he really missed hannah, and he wanted to be around her as much as he could.
