<sub>It had been almost three months since Amelia had been back in town and a lot has happened since but she had managed to dodge her family all together but it with all of her friends and roommate telling her it was time to come clean about her new little family and the fact she was home today was going to have to be that day. The young girl really had no desire to see either one of her parents again but she really did miss her baby sister Renee and her older brother Nathan because at one point the three of them were actually close but by the time Amy started high school she thought she was too cool for her family and closed them out from her life. She was currently sitting at the kitchen table staring at her one reason of living, her two year old daughter Lauren Emily and it scared the hell out of her how would her siblings take to their niece’s smiled softly and handed her daughter some cookies from the cabinet and kissed her forehead.”Look Kid, I’m sorry I’ve kept your sweet little face a secret from some of our family but as I promised you get to meet your auntie and uncle.”she said down to the little one before kissing her again and sitting back down to text Caden who was at work at the moment.

“ honey I hope you can make it to my old house because I’m taking Lauren over there to meet Nathan and Renee but they have no idea we’re coming. Please come.” is what the text said as she sent it to her boyfriend and the father of her child, So far Caden had been the best in all of this and adored Lauren like there was not ever a time she wasn’t in his life. She finally looked up at Lauren once more and took her out of her seat before taking her upstairs to get the both of them dressed.

There was one thing about Amelia some people couldn’t really understand which was the fact she was rather hardheaded-when she got her mind on something she didn’t give up or take no for an answer which in this case she was going to let her siblings meet Lauren even if she was terrified of this small fact, she ran away from her family including Caden because she feared none of them would love her baby as much as she did but look how loyal Caden was to the little girl it was the cutest thing. She packed Lauren’s diaper bag and got her keys as she walked out the door to get in her car.


It took awhile for Amelia and Lauren to make it to her old neighborhood which is where she grew up and the same place her parents did as well but no matter how nice it was to live Amy never liked it here.She was never the girl for the ritzy or classy anything but stuck to it because this was in her blood however this spoiled and arrogant way of living was not going to be her daughter’s style at all.She rolled her eyes at her own thoughts to step out of the car and got her daughter out of the car to walk up to the front door and knocked on it lightly.</sub>

caden had been walking around the town trying to find something he might like to live in that was for sale, when he received the text from his girlfriend about going over to the family's house. he sighed, this wasn't exactly what he wanted to do for the day. but he'd do it for her. he turned around, heading to where he parked his car. he unlocked the door, by the keys, and opened the door. he stepped in, and buckled up.

safety first for his life. he remembered exactly where her house was...that was the thing. he knew where everything was in this town, but that was the most thing burned into his head. he sped down the street to where his girl friend, amelia, had been staying now. he parked the car, and shut it down. he sat there for a minute thinking of what he would do when they found out...lauren was his. he sighed, picturing how this would all go. he stepped outside the door of his car, and walked up to the house. he knocked on the door, hoping that his girlfriend would answer him. he decided it was easier to just follow her there, so they were there at the same time.

Renee had just woken up from being up all night again. She was still wearing her Pj’s and since she didn’t expect any visitor’s today, she didn’t bother changing. She walked to the big kitchen and took out some orange juice. She grabbed a glass and a piece of toast from the counter, and took a bit as she poured herself a glass. Renee took a big gulp and walked to the bathroom. She still wasn’t fully awake yet. She walked by her parents on the couch. “Hey guys” she said as she walked by, her dad was reading the paper and her mom was on the phone. Renee guessed she was on the phone with her business boss, which she usually was. Renee walked into the bathroom and turned on the light, she was partially stunned by her hair, it was awful it was tangled and it stuck up in different places. Renee did her best to run the brush through it, and when she was done it was straight and untangled, but now it was slightly frizzy. While she was in there Renee brushed her teeth, and grabbed a pair of shorts out of the hamper. Ever since her sister moved out, Renee got the whole bathroom to herself (unless there were guests.)
She loved it, the bathroom had a full bath and shower, along with a double sink and a toilet. Not to mention a built in hamper. She replaced her cotton shorts with her bleached denim ones and then washed her hands and made her way to her bedroom. She went to the closet and picked out a pretty pink silver leopard print tank. She threw her hair up into its usual pony tail. Renee was in the middle of making up her bed when she heard a knock at the door, she was shocked. “I got it!!” Renee walked into the hallway to open the door not bothering to look through the peep hole to see who it was. She unlocked the door and opened it, hiding behind it. What was on the other side almost made her want to pinch herself. There was her sister, who she hadn’t seen in almost two years and next to her, a super gorgeous guy who but the most gorgeous of male models to shame. Between the two shocked her the most, there was a very cute little girl who looked almost two or three. “OMG Amelia!!!! Mom Dad come look!!!” Renee jumped from behind the door and enveloped her sister in a big bear hug.

It was finally the weekend, and after a long week of classes, Nathan was finally ready to leave his stuffy dorm building. It was his freshman year at college, and the university was fairly strict about students living in the dorms, or, at least, that's what Nate had lead his family to believe. The reality of it was, he had just wanted out of the house. He wanted some freedom and didn't want to risk his parents finding out about his chosen major. As far as his family knew, Nate was majoring in business so that he could take over his father's business later in life. It was just as his father had always planned... but, that wasn't the case. Nate felt bad lying, but his passion was in the fine arts. So, that was exactly what he decided to major in. He just didn't want to break the news to his family.

Which, was why he avoided the house as much as possible. This weekend, however, his parents were going on a business trip. His mother had called last night to ask him to come home and stay with his baby sister, Renee, for the weekend. She didn't want to leave her 'baby' alone. Really, Nate just assumed it was because she was worried about Renee leaving just as his other sister, Amy, had years before. His parents used to be so lenient, so carefree with their children, but after Amelia had left, things changed. He was just glad his mother hadn't hired a full time babysitter for the weekend to watch both him and Renee.

Nate considered this as he pulled his car into the drive of his home. His eyes scanned over the cars in the driveway and he frowned slightly. His parents cars were there, but there was also two other cars. Unfamiliar cars. Maybe his mother's company was over? Rolling his eyes, he stepped out of the car now and pulled his duffel bag from the back seat. He slammed the door and glanced down at his cell phone as he walked the short distance to the house. The sooner he was inside, the sooner he'd know what the plan for the weekend was.

Arriving at the steps, Nate finally glanced up. There, stood an all-too-familiar blond, a small child, and an older male. And, his sister was standing in the doorway with an awestruck expression. Nathan froze now, the pieces slowly falling into place in his mind. "Amy?" Shock, fear, relief... a million contradicting emotions swarmed his voice and his face as he stood there on the steps. Amelia was... back? After two long years she was back? A million questions formed in his head, but the thoughts all seemed stuck in his throat. This just seemed like a... fairytale.

<sub>Amelia was becoming rather nervous about this visit and was really starting to think twice about this. She had the strong urge to take her small daughter and run away just like before but damn it, she was here and it was time for her to see her family after so long. The familiar pain she was feeling in her heart wasn’t the cause of her brother and sister, it was because of her selfish reasons and the fear of rejection forms her parents. She looked at her daughter and sighed softly while hugging child to her abet more tightly almost on the verge of tears already.”My love please don’t think of your mommy as a scared cat for being like this already.”she whispered softly into Lauren’s ear hiding her face from view for a moment.
She took a deep breath and looked up as she waited but it was a familer face that got her attention apparently she didn’t hear the front door open.It was her baby sister Renee that grabbed her into a bear hug which took her off guard.”Hello Naye”she said but couldn’t get the name out of her mouth very loud.

Seeing the face of her younger sister was already too much for her but Little Lauren was already grabbing for other girl cooing. Lauren really didn’t understand who this girl was but being the over curious child she wanted to know right now,”Who you?Me lauren..”she said staring into her aunt’s eyes from her mother’s arms.

basically this was almost the most uncomfortabliest thing caden had ever done in his life, but for amelia, he would do anything. he stood there staring at amelia's little sister, and her big brother. surely, her little sister didn't remember caden, she was much younger, and caden was never around the house either. but, nate would certainly remember him. he swallowed, and stood there standing and watching this little family reunion, and meeting.

it was the first time that the rest of the family met lauren, and knew about her. so, it was a tad awkward for her. but, lauren didn't really look a thing like caden, which was sort of a bummer to him, since he wanted her too. but, amelia was stunning, and together, they made a cute little kid. he smiled, and then said" i don't know if you remember me at all, but, i'm caden."

There was very attractive man on her porch, and he was talking to her "Umm I'm renee" She remembered him, or at least she had heard of him. Her mom was always talking about how he stole her "baby". Renee let her gaze glued on Caden go to acknowledge that her brother was there to "babysit" her, because apparently even though she was smart enough to skip a grade, she wasn't smart enough to stay home alone." Hey bro look who came home!" Renee gave him a hug and looked down at the little girl talking to her. "I'm Renee your so cute"

Wait a second, Renee looked down at the little girl, then back to Amelia, and almost fainted. Her spine tingled, they looked just the same, or at least the little girl looked just like Amelia when she was two. Renee had seen pictures the two were identical.Renee looked at her older brother he didn't seem to notice.Renee kept smiling though but mentally shook her head." Come on lets go inside" Renee helped usher the group of people in to the foyer, into the huge Den were her parents sat until there car arrived to take them to the airport.

Nathan felt rather pathetic as he stood there watching the scene unfold. A child, nearly a mirror image of Amelia when she was younger, was there hugging Renee. She was cute, Nathan even had to admit that, but it just wasn't clicking. Why in the world would Amelia bring a child with her? And why was she suddenly back? His eyes slid to the man now, instantly remembering him even before he introduced himself. Caden. Nathan's grip tightened significantly on his duffel bag and his face formed into a straight stare. No emotion, no anything. He really didn't know what to say. Caden, Nate had reasoned, was the one who had convinced his little sister to disappear for two years. Even his mother blamed the boy. Nate hadn't really liked Caden before, but after this... it was all he could do not to say anything.

"I see that, Re." Luckily, Renee pulled him into a hug. He returned it with one arm, stepping around Caden and Amelia to do so. He then glanced over the odd scenario on their doorstep. The child, he was now beginning to see, was Amelia's. And, from the looks of it, it was Caden's, too. Nathan took a breath, steadying himself as he went on inside. He lead the way to the den, where he knew his parents were waiting on their car from. He almost wondered how they were going to take this.

Then, almost at the den, it dawned on him that he really hadn't said anything to Amelia. He had been caught up in his mixed emotions. Anger at her for leaving with Caden, and the shock and relief that she was home. He stopped, spinning around just before the den and pulling Amelia into a hug. "God, it's good to see you alive. We were worried sick about you. No one knew what happened." Nate stated, softly to his sister. Worry and endearment both laced his voice. He let her go quickly, though, and followed Renee on into the den. He meant his words. Their little family really hadn't been the same since she'd left. His mother worried much more and was much more protective. His father was stern with both Renee and Nate, probably why he didn't want Renee home alone this weekend. And Renee and Nathan had drifted apart. Everyone had almost been zombie-fied. Just going through the motions and trying to push their worry away. It was a strange predicament.

Amelia was becoming rather overwhelmed with the scene that was being created in front of her, She had the love of her life at her side and her two siblings near her along with her daughter all in the same room the words just could not describe how awkward and in depth it all was. She could not help but reach for Caden’s hand and squeezed it nervously as Nathan stood next to her, it was freaking her out too badly right now so she pulled Caden closely to her side as if she were hiding behind him.

For the moment Amy was in a daze as she watched her daughter wobble over to her older brother while thinking once more and keeping her grip on her boyfriend’s hand but she smiled at Lauren before looking over at her little sister,here things were less complicated since Renee was younger then her and probably had not caught on just yet what was going on.” How have you been my little sister??”She asked softly trying her best to keep her mind off what her brother was thinking or when her parents were going to come in on this family reunion and start their badgering her on where she has been and who’s child this was.

She finally felt go of Caden’s hand and walked across the room to hug her brother as tight as she could and whispered into his ear,”I’m sorry about everything but I’ll explain it all I promise.”then pulled away from him to kneel down next to Lauren’s level and took her little hand into hers once more.”Baby this is your uncle Nathan and the sweet little miss across the room is your Aunt Renee,they are my brother and sister.”she said to her little one before looking up at the two of her siblings.”Guys,She is mine and Caden’s daughter.”She added as she let go of her daughter’s hand to wave Caden over to her side.”Don’t blaime Caden either.”she said as she took his hand into hers lovingly.


“I ran away when I became pregnant because I feared what everyone would think and I never told Caden until he found me himself a few months ago but now we’re together and Lauren is starting to understand that he is her father, he loves her to pieces as much as I do.”She said once more as she looked around at all their faces.
