Jose drove in her beat down car, nervous and scared of what may happen when she gets to her sisters house. She had disappeared for two years with her boyfriend, not something worth getting along over. Jose wanted to avoid this moment, but had no choice now. The guy she left her life and only family for dumped her, and she had no where else to go. She had enough money for a apartment, but she was unemployed and wouldn’t be able to keep up with her payments, and home was her last option. Jose had gone cross country with her boyfriend, and he had dumped her far away from home. She had been driving since morning, it was around three in the afternoon and she still had a way to go.
Jose was heartbroken, she gave all she had, her family, her life, her heart to this guy for two years, and then he claims he never loved her. Everything she gave up! She could still be at home with her mom and older sister, attending Lipton’s only high school. Jose had dropped out to go cross country, and had a lot of catching up to do, two years worth. As she thought of her ex tears fell from her eyes and on to her lap. She wiped away her tears with the back of her hand, they wouldn’t do much now. She had cried enough right after he broke up with her anyways, might as well save them. Jose was scared about going back, she had been a good kid until she left, and was nervous about being accepted again. Why should they, besides the fact she is related. She gripped the steering wheel hard, so hard she was afraid she might take the rusted thing off.
It was dark by time she pulled up the street where her sister and mother lived. She rubbed her tired eyes, she had been driving since morning. Jose looked at the back seat, where she had all her things. She wasn’t going to bring them in until she got accepted back into her old home, if she did. She stepped out of the car, smoothing out her clothes that had been wrinkled by the long trip. She walked up to the door, her heart pounding in her ears. As she lifted her hand to knock on the door, she hesitated. Was there a way to avoid this? Jose knocked on the door. No, this was the only place she could go, and she needed to right her wrong.

WEAR YOUR HEART ON YOUR SLEEVE MAKE THINGS HARD TO BELIEVE I'M NOT FEELING THIS SITUATION. Alys instructed, glancing at the clock. It was eight o'clock in the evening, and she wondered if she was getting some unexpected visit from either a neighbor or one of her friends. Sighing she headed to the door, pulling it open. The moment she clapped eyes on the girl standing on her porch, they widened and she opened her mouth to speak. Jose? After two years, Jose was there, on her doorstep. She blinked furiously for a second, as if to confirm she was seeing right. Holding onto the door she felt herself welling up and the vision she had of her sister began to blur. After two years - after everything she'd missed in her life - her little sister was home. Alys wasn't sure whether to hug her or slap her hard, though she kind of thought Jose probably deserved both right now. "Jose? What...?" she stuttered, her eyes scanning the girl and taking it all in as she stared at her little sister with a mixture of shock, concern and deep contempt.[/ul]

Jose had to keep herself calm by taking deep breaths, she was so nervous she wanted to cry, but she would try and hold off the tears as long as possible. She rubbed the tip of her shoe into the ground below her; she heard barking and scratching from the other side of the door. She didn’t remember having a dog; Oh God did her family move? She was really nervous now, so nervous she didn’t realize she had started to turn away from the door until it opened. There stood her sister, Alys, with a rather shocked expression on her face.
Jose tried to say something, but no words came out. She cleared her throat and tried again, her voice shaking and he eyes blurring “I...I’m back, he dumped me. And I...” she had thought about what she was going to say on the way there but now she could barely push the words through. She wanted to say she needed her sister, she had nowhere else to go, but the words didn’t come out, instead tears did. Jose looked down and away from her older sister, grimacing with hurt and fear “im sorry” she said quietly, squeezing her eyes shut, squeezing a few drops out of her eyes. She took in a shaky breath and looked forward at the ground, her gaze on her sisters’ feet “Can I come in?” Jose said her voice small, but at least it didn’t tremble or shake.
Jose had the sudden thought that her sister would shut the door in her face that was a possibility. She had after all stolen her boyfriend and run away for two years, abandoning her family, who were way more important than some guy. Jose had thought she would be with that guy for a long time, some nights she thought they would get married and settle for a normal, happy life. How foolish of her though, she had jumped into things way to fast, and she never saw the beak up coming. All the times he told her he loved her, and for all those times to be fake. After he ditched her she wondered why he had put up with her for so long, she also thought what was wrong with her, but that one was easy. She was a lying, stealing, dishonorable cheat. ___________________________________________________________________________ Word Count No idea Inspiration Mine- Christina Perri Tags Alys Status Complete Template By Arro @ Caution 2.0 Picture By Credit pic here!

WEAR YOUR HEART ON YOUR SLEEVE MAKE THINGS HARD TO BELIEVE I'M NOT FEELING THIS SITUATION. Alys muttered again when Jose asked to come in, saying she'd been dumped. Alys blinked and more tears fell down her cheeks as she shook her head in disbelief. Alys wasn't usually one to be lost for words - she was an English teacher after all and had a wide vocabulary at her disposal. Right now, however, she was left utterly speechless by the arrival of her sister. Alys was biting her bottom lip so hard was beginning to taste the odd metallic indication of blood in her mouth. "Jose," she stuttered, looking away from her sister, unable to look at her face as she tried to hold her together, though she wasn't doing much of a good job. She wished that her sister had never turned up tonight. Not like this. She blinked again and more tears fell down her cheeks. Jose didn't know the half of it, she didn't know what had happened to their mother. She just thought she'd been off on an adventure for the last two years and now she was realizing what a true sod she'd disappeared off with. Alys was sure she had no more thoughts on that matter and that she expected Alys to open her arms and welcome her in and offer her coffee. "You're sorry?" Alys asked incredously, turning her head to look back at her younger sibling. "Jose..." she repeated, running her tongue along the bottom of her lip and shaking her head. "I really... I don't know what to say to you," Alys informed her. There were just so many questions and so many things to tell. The house was completely different now, Alys had redecorated after their mother's death and their father moving away. It was impossible to know where to start, and Alys wasn't even sure whether to let Jose step inside. "You disappeared," Alys added, as if Jose needed reminding. For the last two years, Jose could have been dead and they would never have known.[/ul]

Jose stood there, feeling ashamed, guilty, and heartbroken. She saw a few tears fall to the ground that weren’t her own, and she had to suppress a sob. She didn’t want her sister feel hurt, but what did she expect? Me neither, Jose thought. It seemed almost impossible to find the right words, the absolute right thing to say. Maybe because there wasn’t one. She almost wished her sister would slam the door in her face to avoid the talking, but Jose had avoided so much already. Years of responsibility and care avoided, not even encouraged.
Jose stood there, hugging herself tightly, as if that would keep her emotions inside of her. A slight breeze drifted through the warm air, causing Joses short hair to flow away from her face, making it visible. She squeezed her eyes tightly, swallowing the lump in her throat “I know” she whispered, not able to make a louder sound. She grimaced again, she felt it coming, the rejection. She tried to think positive the whole way there, but it was harder now she was being confronted. Jose couldn’t feel any good, her temples throbbed from trying to remain composed, which wasn’t working out very well for her.
Jose looked into the house, and saw some differences. There was knew furniture, it looked newer. She suddenly remembered the marks on the side of the door, where there parents had marked Alys is and Joses heights when they were children. It didn’t make her feel good to look at that, it just reminded her of the life she left behind, a life she would have been better off staying in
Jose wiped her tears away, and figured Alys was never going to let her back into her life “Please, I just need somewhere to stay, just for tonight” she said, her voice louder at first but near the end of the sentence it became quieter. If Alys wouldn’t let her back into her life, then Jose wouldn’t be shocked, hurt, but it would be no surprise. If she let her stay the night, then Jose could look up motels or something, anything. She didn’t want to leave again, but if she wasn’t welcomed back to her old life she would have no choice Jose listened to the sound of crickets and frogs, night sounds, for just a moment “Where’s mom and dad?” she asked ___________________________________________________________________________ Word Count No idea Inspiration I dunno XD Outfit clicky here Status Complete Template By Arro @ Caution 2.0 Picture By Credit pic here!

WEAR YOUR HEART ON YOUR SLEEVE MAKE THINGS HARD TO BELIEVE I'M NOT FEELING THIS SITUATION. Alys muttered when she asked where her parents were. There was so much to tell her, and she did deserve to know, even if she hadn't been around. Alys was trying to compose herself, taking deep breaths and looking back at her sister, a scowl across her usually relaxed and happy face. It didn't suit Alys, who was usually such a warmhearted person. "You've been away a very long time," she informed her, with a wrinkle of the nose. She looked away from her again and then turned around, walking back into the house and into the hallway. She turned on the spot when she was a little way inside to see if Jose had followed. This was going to be hard to explain, and she didn't want to have to do it. She'd somewhat hoped if Jose never returned then she'd never have to tell her these things, but somehow she'd known, on some level, that Jose would come crawling back eventually. [/ul]

“I know, I know” she said. Since she wasn’t looking at her sister, she didn’t notice her leaving at first, and it startled her this is it she thought she isn’t letting me come back. She hugged herself so tight she made it hard to breath for herself, but how else was she supposed to keep her emotions in control? Jose realized the door hadn’t slammed shut and was still wide open, she looked up and Alys was looking at her. She didn’t know whether to come in or not, didn’t want to if she was just going to be kicked out. What she did though, is peer around the inside. She had known the house like the back of her hand, the only difference about the house was the furniture. She bet her bedroom was still up stairs, last door on the left. Yet again Alys or her parents could have rearrange, if they thought she wasn’t coming back then why keep her things?
After a moment Jose stepped inside, one foot out the door and one foot in. She leaned forward and looked into the kitchen, the living room. She was acting a bit like a vampire, she wont come in until invited. Jose had felt the want to come home for a long time, it was after all the only place she knew, but her, stolen, boyfriend had showed her other places, places he said he would be. Jose had never forgotten her home, she was just so wrapped up in her own self she had argued not to go back. At first she had felt so guilty that she wouldn’t sleep, or eat, but it hadn’t taken long for that to change. All that guilt was rushing back to her now, and it made her want to vomit. She shook her head, why hadn’t she just stayed home?
She wondered why her sister wouldn’t tell her were her parents were, she may have a grudge against her, so may her parents, but she wanted to see them. Even if they yelled at her and told her not to come back, she wanted to see them, wanted to apologize, she repeated herself “Where’s mom and dad?” had they moved from there old home, giving it to Alys? If so that would mean she would have to get back in her rusty car and drive, the thought made her bottom hurt. ___________________________________________________________________________ Word Count No idea Inspiration I dunno XD Outfit clicky here Status Complete Template By Arro @ Caution 2.0 Picture By Credit pic here!

WEAR YOUR HEART ON YOUR SLEEVE MAKE THINGS HARD TO BELIEVE I'M NOT FEELING THIS SITUATION. living room - it didn't belong to her dad anymore, and it didn't belong to Jose. It was all hers. Jose's room was a spare bedroom now, and everything she'd ever owned was locked in the attic. Mom had always thought Jose would return, and she'd left her bedroom intact. When their mom had died, Alys had ripped the bedroom apart, but found herself physically unable to throw anything away. Instead, she'd packed it away into the attic and left it to gather dust and be forgotten about. Perhaps on some level she too believed that Jose would return eventually, somehow. She brushed her hand through her hair and turned to look at her younger sibling, she walked into the kitchen and wiped her cheeks again, taking a second to glance in the mirror. Her mascara had began to run down her cheeks, giving her a sort of panda eye look. Her mascara had also smudged across her palms too, where she'd been wiping it from her cheeks. She took a shuddering breath when Jose repeated the question and turned to face her, her hand over her mouth to try and control her emotions. There was a horrible deep feeling in her stomach, threatening to consume her again with tears. "Dad moved out," Alys explained, tasting the horrid salty tears that were beginning to run again. "Jose," she repeated, her voice straining as it threatened to break again. "Jose, she got ill," she explained, wiping the tears away as quickly as they were forming. "You ran away," Alys repeated, "and she got ill." She didn't mean to make the two things sound so connected, but perhaps they were? She couldn't deny the thought had crossed her mind several times. Jose's disappearance had ripped her family apart, and Alys wasn't sure if she'd ever be able to forgive her for the things that had happened in her absence. "I was so alone," she added.[/ul]

Jose had stepped into the house completely now, but was still fairly close to the door. A confused looked passed over her face, dad moved out? Did her parents get a divorce? Joses eyes widened at the next thing her sister said, it took a moment to put two in two together. She gripped the door frame tight “Oh God. Please don’t tell me, she, she…” Jose burst into tears then, could it really be true? Could her mother have passed on in her absence? Jose didn’t want to believe it, but it would explain why her dad moved out, and why Alys had the house. Jose hoped she was just looking at the situation wrong, but there was no other explanation for all that had happened.
Jose couldn’t believe she hadn’t been there for her mother, or her family. She suddenly realized Alys must really resent her, she had been alone while putting up with what had happened, and Jose could see the whole family falling apart being her fault. When she had left she hadn’t thought how her family would feel when she left, she only saw herself, and now she was paying for it. Jose couldn’t stop her crying, and most defiantly couldn’t look at her sister, she wanted to so badly go to the couch, or even the floor, and just cry, but she wouldn’t be able to do that now. “I, I should leave” she said, she felt extremely unwelcome in her old home, and didn’t want anyone to see her so upset. Jose stumbled out the door, her vision blurred and her heart racing. She didn’t plan on leaving like she had last time, but she wanted to give her next visit a bit of time, maybe a week, but she couldn’t stand being in there now. She was almost out of money, but she would think of something, anything, until her sight and mind cleared. ___________________________________________________________________________ Word Count No idea Inspiration I dunno XD Outfit clicky here Status Complete Template By Arro @ Caution 2.0 Picture By Credit pic here!
