"It takes a long time to grow an old friend."

Katie smiled as she walked around the dog shelter with Bella. The two friends hadn't spent much time together in a while and she couldn't remember last time she'd had a proper chat with her best friend. Now at least though the two were out and about, with no tag along Jason, just having fun. Katie was feeling alone in her apartment so decided that a dog was the best idea to stop her lonely feelings. She knew that a friend pooch would maybe make her feel a little safer after the 'incident' and keep her company too. Bella had came along as well for herself and morale support. "there are soooo many of them." Katie pouted looking at Bella as if to say can't I have them all? When they were younger Katie remembered she found a stray dog that had been hit by a car. She took it in, cared for it and only told Bella about the dog, Muffin. But Muffin turned out to be someone's lost dog and when Bella's mom and dad found her, Bella and Muffin, Muffin was sent back to her owners and Katie was told no more pets... ever. Katie smirked as she saw a dog like Muffin, "Remember Muffin!" She laughed and petted the dog's head. She didn't want a muffin dog, she wanted her own little pup.
"Okay so thoughts on puppies, like which one?" She asked her friend and looked to her, ""Hello? Earth to Bella, come on focus, we're doggy shopping." She smiled at her long time friend, "You okay? You getting one?" She asked her friend as they saw more pups. Katie was such a sucker for a puppy dog look and goofy grin, that's why she'd decided on a dog and not any other pet, plus a guard dog would come in handy. Katie looked to leaflet the woman that worked there had given her on dog types and ownership of dogs. There was a lot of uses for a dog aparently, but she'd taken time to read up online about guard dogs, but nice ones. She didn't say to Bella of course, that that's the type of dog she wanted primarily, but Katie knew it was high on the list for herself. She didn't want to leave anything up to chance. The smaller one of the two friends made her way over to another pen/cage as she looked in, "These are cute, husky mix." She nodded and smiled as the yapped at her happily.
