Adele felt content with the slap, but her his smile made her blood boil. What the hell? Did he liked being slapped? Adele lips curled and she looked away from his smug face before she hit him again. Adele listened as he walked away and finally turned to see his back. Now she felt empty, which made her even more mad. Adele refused to follow him though. Adele lit another cigarette took one hit, and threw it to the ground. Damn him.
Adele blew the smoke out and smashed the cigarette once again with her heel. Cursing herself she went back into the club after him. The smell of sweaty bodies and the hot thickness of the air hit her, and it made her curl back. She cursed again and made her way to the restrooms, walking sideways through the sweaty people. Once in the bathroom she fixed her hair, and her clothes. Adele re-did her eyeliner, and added some red lipstick to her lips.
Walking out she spotted Blaine and made her way to him. Adele was walking when someone tapped on her shoulder. Twirling around she was met by a drunkard right in her face. “ Uh yes?” Adele looked at him, and watched as two other guys flanked his other sides. Suddenly she was scared, and angry. She only let the angry show. “ What the hell do you want?” The guys pushed her towards the wall and circled her. Cold sweat broke out along her neck and spine. The guy on the left pulled on her shoulder and Adele slapped him away but he continued to pester her. The other two guys chanted the other guy. Shakily Adele talked, “ Leave me the hell alone! “ Adele hoped Blaine saw her the guys crowed in closer. Touching her poking her, pulling her.

Straight after finishing his drink, Blaine ordered another, downing this at a similar speed and then turning to look out across the club. Perhaps it would be best to just forget about Adele and move on to somebody else, somebody a little bit closer to his own age. He let out a small sigh and began to wander back towards the dance floor, not spotting anybody who particularly caught his eye. They were all so young, or chavvy, or generally ‘easy’ looking.
On the verge of giving up, a flash of platinum blonde hair caused Blaine to divert his attention. Was it? He couldn’t see much, just a group of guys and somebody with very similar hair to Adele behind them. Curiosity raised, Blaine headed in that direction, getting close enough to see the girl’s scared face and realise it was Adele. Blaine took mere moments to assess the situation, watching the drunk guys practically corner her and then work together to grope her up.
His face twisted in anger, Blaine marched over to the stricken girl, hurling one guy off her to get into the centre, putting himself between Adele and the drunken assholes. There may be three of them and one of him but Blaine wasn’t intimidated- they all looked so drunk they could be felled with a mere tap. He grabbed one of them by the throat and got up in his face, snarling at the guy with pure hatrid ”People like you make me sick, you know..you think it’s funny to pin a girl down and stick your hands up her dress?!” He spat, tightening his grip before one of the other guys tried to calm the situation down. Noticing a bouncer striding through the crowd towards them, Blaine reluctantly let go of the guy. ”I’ll give you three seconds to get the fuck out of my sight or I swear to god, I will kill you with my bare hands” he growled, his fist clenching in anger. How dare three guys think it okay to assault a girl in the middle of a club? It was downright disgusting, and that from a guy who wasn’t exactly an angel.
Realising that the threat of murder from a pissed off Irishman was a threat to be taken seriously, and knowing the bouncer would soon be over to split them up, the guys backed away, muttering stuff under their breath as they did. Blaine waited until they were definitely on the move before turning to Adele, the slap incident already erased from his mind ”You alright Adele?” he asked seriously.

Adele had given up the smack talk, it was obviously only feeding them. Smacking them had only feed them, now Adele didn’t know what to do. She looked around frantically for help there was no point in screaming, the music to do such a thing. Adele wasn’t going to give in, and she wasn’t going to plea, that would just lead them to believe they would win. Adele was shocked that no one noticed what was going on. She was going to wait until one of them let their guard down, then she would kick the hell out of them.
Adele felt the wall against her back and another layer of sweat rolled over spine, she shivered. The guy whispered in her ear his stank breath filling the air around them. Adele clenched her jaw and fist, wrinkling her nose in disgust. Another guy started to work his hand up her thigh and Adele clamped her eyes shut and turned her head the other way. Suddenly the hand disappeared Adele opened her eyes and turned her head to look, and was shocked to see no other than Blaine standing there. Adele sent a silent thank you to God and looked around Blaine to see the guys.
Adele was shocked to see Blaine holding one of them by the throat, but it made her smile slightly. Adele was still back against the wall, and she didn’t move in fear. Her legs were landlocked. She looked like a damn fool standing there with the strap of her dress down her shoulder, her knees locked together and shaking with her dress rolled up so it just barely covered anything. That’s when Adele saw the bouncer heading there way. “ Bouncer. Bouncer! Bouncer heading this way!” Adele whispered hoping Blaine could hear her. Her words were whispered, her throat had closed in fear.
Adele just stood against the wall as the guys moved away and she almost collapsed right there. She didn’t stop shaking, in fact she didn’t even fix the damn dress, she was too scared to move. Not many things affected Adele, but this had. Adele closed her eyes and counted down from ten. Was she ok? Adele almost laughed. “ I could be better.” Adele answered opening her eyes to look at her rescuer. So, he wasn’t that pissed off at her if he saved her, or at least she hoped. Now Adele really wanted that moon light bath.

Blaine shook his head as he looked Adele over, her dress all pulled out of place and her limbs shaking in fear. The way those guys had treated Adele had made anger pump through his veins and it had taken all his restraint to not give that man what he deserved. Blaine realised though that he had to drop that now and focus on Adele. He wanted to wrap her in a protective hug but feared that she could be a little wary of anybody touching her in this vulnerable state. Instead he just stood close to her, ready to fend off anybody who dared step close. Her reply reassured Blaine just a little, knowing she wasn’t in such a state that she had lost her dry sense of humour. Still, she didn’t look in the best of states, cowering and terrified against the wall.
Not quite sure where to go now, Blaine stood in silence for a few seconds, wondering what exactly Adele would want him to do or say. He gently reached forward and pulled her dress strap onto her shoulder, careful not to spook her or freak her out. ”Look, would you like me to walk you home?” he offered in a soft voice, before adding ”Or you can come back to mine if you don’t fancy being on your own..” with a shrug.
It probably came across as another chat up line but, for once, Blaine’s train of thoughts was entirely innocent. Taking Adele back to his flat again was hardly how he’d planned for tonight to end but the girl looked like she really needed somebody right now, and there wasn’t exactly anybody else about. Blaine would sleep on the sofa, no questions asked. He didn’t mind actually- it was actually pretty comfortable when compared to the prison bed he’s camped on for nearly two years.

Adele looked around again and then returned back to Blaine. She quickly rolled down her dress again. Adele tried to stand up straight and prove to Blaine she was ok, but it didn’t work her knees were still wobbly and her feet glued to the ground. Adele controlled her breathing and watched him closely. Her eyes followed his hand as it pulled up the strap of her dress. Her heart beat picked up again and she had to take another breath. Slowly she stood straight and took her back off the wall. She ran a shaky hand through her hair and took one last resound breath.
“ I just want to go home and take bath seriously.” Adele took a steadying breathe before continuing; “ But I don’t want to be alone” Adele had a whole house to herself, her sister and parents were gone. That’s why Adele was off on a Thursday night. She put her head in her hands and shook her head. She looked so weak, she didn’t like that. Adele was afraid now, who was to say something like that wouldn’t happen again? Especially if they followed her home and found she was alone? Adele shivered again at the thought.
Adele really didn’t know what to do, she was usually so strong, so powerful. Now she had been show how weak she really was. Adele wanted nothing more than to punch everyone one of those guys in the groin so they would never do such a thing again. Adele looked at Blaine helplessy. “ Please don’t leave me alone.”

Blaine nodded slowly, realising that it may not be his own sofa that he would be kipping on tonight. Would that be even more awkward? Blaine wasn’t too sure, he supposed with this sudden change in events that it didn’t particularly matter. He was quietly pleased that she had accepted his offer of company, knowing if not that he would have spent all night worrying about whether she was okay.
He hated seeing her like this, so scared and vulnerable. Adele was not a girl to show any vulnerability, proud instead of her assured confidence. Blaine chewed his lip a little as he looked at her, feeling a little useless to help. What could he do now? The damage was done and all because he had left her and walked away. Sure this wasn’t directly his fault, and there was no way Blaine could have ever anticipated this turn of events, but he still felt a sense of guilt. If he’d not walked off then none of this would have happened. Just another instance of Blaine screwing things up for the people he cared about.
With her helpless look and sad plea, Blaine found himself instinctively reaching out to hold Adele. Gently and cautiously, he wrapped his arms around her petite body and layed a kiss on her head ”I won’t leave you sweet, I promise” he sighed sadly, just wanting to hold her forever ”You’re safe now, I won’t let anyone hurt you”. This whole situation was heartbreaking and Blaine cursed himself for not being there to stop it. Reluctantly, he released Adele from the hug and looked her in the eyes ”Let’s get out of here” he said, not keen on staying in this dive any longer. He held out his hand in case she wanted to hold him for support, looking for the least crowded way to the exit.

Adele took another shaky breath and looked around again. “ The guys are gone, they cant hurt you now” The words went on a endless cycle through her head, she was doing her best to convince herself but it wasn’t working. She couldn’t grasp it, not a bit, if Blaine had left… Adele couldn’t even imagine it. No one in the club had turned heads until the bouncer had headed there way. It was to much to think about. Even though she had gotten her heart beat down it picked back up at the thought.
Adele opened her eyes again. She looked at Blaine, and wondered why? She had been mean to him, and yet he still came to her rescue. Adele hadn’t met anyone who would ever have done such a thing before. She didn’t resist when he pulled her into his arms, she didn’t really do much of anything. She clutched his shirt and just stood there, hardly paying attention to the world. Adele had such awful luck, an awful week plus all this. She shuddered again, she felt cold in the hot club.
Adele opened her eyes when Blaine moved. She looked at him but hardly wanted to look him in the eye, but she tried. She rubbed her arm. Adele whooshed out a think of breath. “ Yes, please. I want to go home and take a bath.” Adele knew no matter how hard she scrubbed she could never wash away the feeling of the guys cracked and rough hands. There was no harm in trying though, and that she would. Adele took his hand and worked her way through the crowds to outside. The cold night gave her chills, but iet felt better than the hot club.

It was a risky move to envelope Adele in the cuddle- having another guy touching her could well have pushed her over the edge- but thankfully she accepted Blaine’s show of support. Letting go of her was tough but Blaine knew that they both wanted and needed to get out of here. He took her hand and gave it a squeeze, acting like a battering ram as she pushed them a path through the crowds and led Adele through, not letting go of her hand even once.
The air outside was cold and the relative quiet encouraged Blaine into a few moments of thought. Even though he felt responsible for leaving Adele in the first place, he did somewhat console himself with the fact he had been there to help her. It wasn’t enough, it would never be enough, but at least he was able to stop it before anything worse happened. The drunken people surrounding them were too stupid, selfish or oblivious to even notice what was going on and Blaine didn’t want to even think about what would have happened if he hadn’t have noticed Adele’s struggle. It was sickening, the whole thing.
Blaine headed towards a waiting taxi and ushered Adele inside before stepping into the taxi himself and sitting down next to the shivering girl. If he had a coat, Blaine would have offered her it but as it was, he only had the warmth of his body. And so as such, he wrapped one arms around her and pulled her close. ”Do you want to report it to the police?” he asked gently. Blaine came from the sort of community where people sorted out their own battles. The police were very much the enemy and people preferred to issue their own vigilante punishments than inform the police of crimes which had gone on. Despite this, he knew that Lipton was a very different sort of place and that even though he’d only had negative run ins with the cops, Adele may well still want to report to them what had happened. As Adele was ushered into the cab she silently prayed that the cab driver wasn’t going to ask questions. Adele amused her self for a second on how weird her and Blaine might have looked as they got into the taxi. Adele was only slightly wary about how young she looked so scared. Adele’s head was pounding and it blocked out all other thoughts, and she thanked it for as much. Adele was past being scared, now she felt numb. Her arms were limp at her sides and her head rested on the back of the seat. Adele sat with Blaine and just felt the warmth. She could be on top of an volcano and still feel cold.
Adele ran her shaky hand through her hair than quickly put it back in her lap. Her own shakyiness frightened her. The police? Heavens no! She wasn’t suppose to be in the bar in the first place. They would tell her it was her fault, and then she would have to bring her parents into it. Her parents would hate her if they found out, not to mention they were on vacation. Adele couldn’t report to the police, she wouldn’t report to the police. “ You know very well I cant.” Adele let out. The words came out in one breath and surprisingly steady. Adele shocked herself with how steady the words came out.
The Adele pulled up to the house, and Adele shuffled out of the cab. She breathed in the night air and walked up the front steps. She pulled her house key from out of her purse and slowly opened the door. Home Sweet Home. Adele walked in and turned on the closest light. Adele remembered Blaine as she was kicking off her shoes. “ You can come in” Adele relaxed on her couch, sinking into the plush leather. Being home made her feel way better, but she was still frazzled as hell.

Blaine hadn’t even considered how suspicious this looked; an older guy bundling a young, terrified girl into a taxi to take her home. Luckily though, or perhaps worryingly, the taxi driver asked no questions about what was going on and just drove on in silence, quite happy to just do his job and not worry about the personal predicaments of his customers. Blaine could be kidnapping the poor girl for all the driver knew but the guy seemed more concerned with just getting his money and not making life more difficult for himself.
At her clear disgust at the idea of telling the police happen, Blaine’s brow furrowed into a frown. ”You can if you want to” he assured her softly ”Nobody is going to judge you”. So what she was an underage girl in a club, the police were hardly going to do anything about that, especially when Sparkled was so clearly overrun with young kids partying the night away. The guys deserved some sort of comeback for what they did but Blaine decided not to pursue the issue further, deciding that if Adele didn’t want to say anything, then that was entirely her decision.
Once the taxi had pulled up outside Adele’s house, Blaine leaned forward and paid the driver, not saying a word as he stepped out onto the pavement and followed Adele up to the porch. It was certainly a nicer house than his, not that that was difficult to achieve, and Blaine took a few seconds to look around the hall once he was invited in. He assumed that Adele must live with her family and he found himself hoping that they were planning to stay out tonight. It would be pretty uncomfortable for them to arrive back to find the Irish stranger alone in the house with their traumatised daughter. Blaine followed Adele to the living room and leaned against the doorway as she flopped down into the sofa. ”Do you want a drink or anything?” he asked, clearly making himself quite at home. So maybe offering out drinks shouldn’t be the role of the guest, but Adele didn’t exactly seem in the mood for entertaining.

Adele leaned her head back on the plush couch and just let her arms hang at her sides. After all this she wasn’t tired, just drained of feeling. She rubbed her closed eyes and sat up again. Silently she cleaned the den, picking things off the floor and just making everything neat. Stopping just short off dusting and vacuuming of course. Adele fell back onto the couch and sunk into it, they needed a new couch. Adele sighed and looked around, nothing to clean in here. Adele looked over at Blaine, when he spoke. It took her brain a few seconds to think about the question, she still felt numb and her brain wasn’t working properly.
She got off the couch and made her way to the kitchen. “ No, I can do it.” Adele slowly walked into the kitchen and made herself a drink. She poured herself a tall glass of tea, and sipped it slowly. Now would be a good time for a bath. She made her way back to the den with her tea, and a glass for Blaine. “ Here some tea.” Adele muttered as she set it on the table. She kept her eyes on the ground as she walked by him. “ I’m going to take a bath”
Adele stepped into her parents bath, now would be a nice time for a hug bath like the one they had. She turned the hot water on and poured in a small thing of bubbles. She lit the candles along the back, trying not to imagine why her parents would even need them. Shakily she took off her clothes and put them in the basket. Adele grabbed a rag from the counter and slipped into the hot tub. The warm water plus the smell of the rose smelling bubble bath cleared her head. Adele let the frothy water and bubbles covere das she closed her eyes and leaned her head back.
After a few minutes she washed her hair and body, and stepped out. She threw on her a tank top and a pair of shorts and a robe. Stepping out Adele ignored the flash of lights outside the window, it wasn’t until she walked into the den she freaked out. She walked with a faster pace as she went to the window and pulled back the curtain. The hell? Adele turned towards Blaine. Had the son of the bitch called the cops? “ Whats going on?” Adele pulled the robe tighter to her body.

Blaine sat down as Adele walked into the kitchen, looking around the room and smiling a little at how homely it was. The sort of conventional family home that Oz and him had never had. “Thanks” He called as Adele put a drink down for him and walked off to the bathroom. He didn’t like tea particularly, and probably wouldn’t even drink it, but it was the thought that counted. Kind of awkwardly Blaine sat alone in the silent living room, letting the events of tonight replay in his mind. Wondering if there was anything more he could have done or said. He sighed, wishing there was a stronger drink available. He wasn’t exactly the most polite houseguest but even Blaine felt uncomfortable rooting through somebody’s cupboards for booze.
Disliking just sitting here on his own, Blaine stood himself up and headed to the front door, opening it and standing out on the porch. He pulled his cigarettes and lighter from his back pocket and lit one up, trying to distract his mind from the thoughts. It didn’t work though and as he exhaled a long whisp of smoke, Blaine still found himself thinking about those guys back at the club. It was so screwed up that they could just completely take advantage of Adele and then just walk away. He should have just strangled the fuckers there and then, but of course now it was too late. It was too late to do anything about it really. Well, apart from calling the police. There was still time for that and taking another deep drag on his cigarette, Blaine began to consider that option more seriously.
They should be allowed to just get away with it, saunter off like nothing happened and quite possibly repeat the whole thing on the next lone girl they found. Blaine pulled his cell out of his pocket and slowly began to tap the numbers. 9. 1. 1. This was all so unlike him. Blaine was the one to get caught by the police, not the one to tip them off. It felt wrong in some ways but then thinking back to the shaking and petrified girl and the pleading eyes she gave him to not leave her, Blaine convinced himself it was what he needed to do. ”Police please” he stated, quite nervous all of a sudden ”My... friend has been assaulted, sexually assaulted” he explained, going on to give the person on the line details of the address before hanging up and taking a deep sigh. Blaine leaned against the wall and finished off his cigarette before heading back inside to twiddle his thumbs before the cops arrived.
Awkwardly the arrival of flashing blue lights timed perfectly in with the sound of Adele’s footsteps down the stairs. Blaine supposed it gave her less chance to back out but even so, it was a little unfortunate he couldn’t pre-warn the girl of what was going on. She seemed to quickly figure out what he had done and with a face of thunder, appeared back into the living room. ”I called them Adele” Blaine admitted confidently. ”Those bastards are not getting away with hurting you”

Adele was pissed. She threw her long blonde hair into a ponytail using the rubber band she had picked up earlier. “ The hell Blaine? I told you I wasn’t going to report it! I cant! What am I going to do now?” Adele hollered. Adele let out a long groan and put her head in her hands. She heard a knock on the door and she darted towards it. Whimpering slightly she opened the door. Damn him, damn him to hell. Two officers stood in front of her, towering over her and looking unhappy and stern. Their cop cars illuminated the dark night behind them. Adele put her calm face on and looked them over before letting them in. “ Please come in Officers . Sit” Adele talked through her teeth and led them to the couch.
She glared at Blaine as she walked by him. Calmly she sat the cops done on the couch and pulled a chair to sit in front of them. “ Listen Miss, The cop speaked with a bored tone. “ Your friend here called us about an assault, and we need your full account on it if you don’t mind” Adele gritted her teeth, a habit she had quit ages ago. She let out a calming breath before beginning, she didn’t want to say anything, and she had to now. Adele knew she couldn’t lie now. She glared at Blaine one last time and began. “ I was at the club, Sparkles, and I had just come out of the Ladies room and was making my way to the exit when the guys came up to me. The first guy tapped on my shoulder.” She made a tapping motion on her thigh and took another breath. “ I turned around and they cornered me, pushing me against the wall. I told them to back off and they wouldn’t.They prodded and pulled at me, one guy ev-“ Adele couldn’t finish, her throat closed on her and eyes watered. Damn it. She cleared her throat. “ Then my friend, Blaine, saw us and got the guys off me. From there he took me home.” Adele closed her mouth and rubbed her eyes again. She cursed Blaine for calling the cops. Adele didn’t cry, but she wanted to more than anything.

It was hard to miss the death glares coming from Adele as she furiously passed him to answer the door. Perhaps Blaine should be feeling bad at this point but he couldn’t help but think he’d made the right decision. This was for her, this was justice for Adele, as well as for protecting any other girls those scummy guys might go after. Blaine watched silently as Adele reappeared, shooting him daggers as she led the cops into the lounge.
Hearing Adele emotionally recall the events, Blaine clenched his fists so tightly that his knuckles began to turn white. Nobody should be made to feel like that, but especially not Adele. She was special, in fact Blaine considered her more special each second he got to know her. She didn’t deserve that shit. Seeing her eyes begin to fill with tears did nothing to calm Blaine’s temper and he found himself suddenly standing up to add to what Adele had said ”They were fucking all over her, holding her down, groping up her dress. I would have fucking killed them if I had half a chance” he growled, his eyes filled once more with rage. The officers looked at Blaine and gave him a somewhat dirty look for his language and threats. Pretty much ignoring his outburst, they turned back to Adele ”Thankyou ma’am, we’re going to go away and look at the club’s cctv and we will be in touch with you soon about further statements”
The officers stood up and began to make their way to the door, followed closely by Blaine who had clearly not finished his rant. ”You better find those shits or I will, and I will wring their fucking necks!” he continued as they opened the front door. One officer turned to acknowledge the angry man ”I can assure you that we will do all we can to find the people who attacked your friend.” he said with a look of authority, getting a little sick of this guy. Blaine raised his eyebrow, not having much faith in them going by their word. Nevertheless, he saw the police out and shut the door behind them, returning to Adele to face the inevitable wrath about calling the police without her permission.

Adele swallowed her tears and listened to Blaine. It wasn’t rally a good idea to tell the cops of your murder plans. She groaned and stood as Blaine ushered them out. She waited for the door to close before she would say anything, she wanted the cops to think she as stable. “ You little bitch! I told you not to call them! You didn’t give me a warning or anything! For heaven’s sake, I’m hardly dressed!” Adele pointed to her flimsy pjs and groaned throwing her hands up in exasperation. Her blood was boiling, her temper on fire. “ Damn you Blaine! I knew they were going to make me repeat everything! I just got over it!”
Adele clenched her fist at her sides, full of energy now. Why the hell couldn’t he just listen. “ I try, so hard, to look at life in your perspective but I can hardly get my head that far up my own ass!” Adele was screaming now, she wouldn’t be shocked if the cops were called back. She stomped into her room and turned on the light to get some clothes. She threw on her sweater and some shorts, just in case the damn cops came back. Returning she was already ready to fight more. She groaned once more, her mouth set in a heavy scowl. “Why the hell can’t you just listen to me! You know what’s going to happen if they DO find the men? They won’t get a heavy sentence because I shouldn’t have been there in the first place!” Adele stomped towards the couch and sank into it once again. Dam men. Her throat now hurt, and she was defiantly going to date women now. She popped her knuckles and waited for his replies. She closed her eyes and took deep breaths, so much for the relaxation of the bath.
