Mordecai grabbed his sleep black jacket and zipped up against the cold. The seasons were changing for Lipton, but this time of year was Mordecai’s favorite. He liked the cold, it gave him a reason to were long sleeved shirts and skinny jeans how he pleased. The fall was also when Mordecai liked to break out his camera and take picture of the dieing leaves, fall was the most beautiful time of year. His took long purposeful strides out to his car, feeling slightly ashamed. People always told you to not trust people you met online, and Mordecai was on his way to the park to meet someone, he met online. Give or take, Mordecai had already met the person before at the bar. Shaking his head he sat in his car, driving slowly to park. His stomach turned in knots, and he felt like he was shaking. Mordecai wasn’t scared because of stranger danger, he was scared of the attraction he had already felt. Mordecai couldn’t deny what he felt, even though he did. Mordecai was afraid of rejection from Salem, no matter what he did he felt like he was going to get hit with it anyways.
He jumped out of his car, feeling like a jack in the box that was wound to tight. He wanted out of the tiny space. Mordecai rubbed his hands together and put them in the pockets of his skinny jeans, slipping his thumbs through the belt loops. He walked slowly through the park, watching kids play and run, not a worry in the world. He watched mothers tend to there little ones as they cried about a small cut on there finger or a new scrape on their knee. Mordecai looked away, that was the opposite of what his mother had done of course. Mordecai unzipped his jacket, his plaid shirt a pale contrast to the darkness of it. Mordecai blew out his breathe, watching it curl with the cold. It was another beautiful aspect of fall. He should put the thoughts out of his head, now he was going to concentrate on the person who was making his feelings go all out of sorts. Mordecai didn’t know what to feel, and most of all, what Salem felt.
He reached in his pocket for his phone, reading an old text. When he left his father was asleep, so hopefully Mordecai would get a few hours of peace. Mordecai sat on the bench in the small gazebo, It was shaped like and octagon with benches put on ever side except for the two small openings on the sides. Mordecai lifted his knees to his chest to tie his shoes, then he left them there. It seemed like time was ticking by slowly, it was driving him mad. By time three minutes passed, Mordecai thought it had been an hour. He ran his fingers through his hair, and he paced the gazebo a few times. He was honestly going mad. Mordecai took deep breathes, he was honestly acting like he was meeting a girl. His insides felt like they were doing sailor knots with his intestines as the ropes. Mordecai didn’t know why he was having such feelings for another guy, and it honestly scared him. He didn’t know if he should embrace it or cower away. He sat back down and patiently waited, it was going to be interesting.

Salem was nervous as could be. Well perhaps that was a bit of an understatement. He couldn't begin to properly describe all of the emotions and thoughts pulsing through him like a batch of angry bees. The world seemed to be both vividly alive and deathly still that morning as Salem got ready. Normally meeting someone wouldn't throw him into quite such a tizzy. He had spent literally hours that morning trying to pick out what to wear. Much to the amusement of the guys, Mattias especially.
He sighed as he sat down in the pile of clothes he'd ripped out of closet in an attempt to find a good outfit to wear. He heard the muted, nearly silent foot steps in the hallway and raised his eyes to see Mattias leaning in the doorway. Salem narrowed his eyes at his best friend who merely stood there with a smirky, knowing look. Mattias had selective mutism and rarely spoke, even to Salem. Sighing he threw and arm dramatically against his forehead in mock exasperation.
"Oh Mattias, your silent mockery doth wound me so!" He sighed as he flopped himself backwards onto the bed.
He wasn't sure what to wear to meet someone who'd only ever seen him in full-out glam rock garb. Would Mordecai be dissapointed if Salem didn't come strolling into the park dressed in a fur coat and leather pants. Salem sighed, flinging out an arm in his frustration. Only this action sent the pile of clothes on his bed falling over on him and burying him under a mound of fabric. He squealed loudly and felt someone grab his ankles, dragging him out of the pile by them. He opened his eyes, flailing his arms like a madman, and spotted Mattias holding his ankles. Salem shot his best friend an appreciative glance before the mute Finnish man raised an eyebrow.
'Salem, be yourself. If this guy is as great as you say, he will like you for you.' Mattias said before he turned and walked out and down the stairs.
Salem was shocked, that was the most he'd heard out of his bestie in months. He smiled in spite of himself, knowning his friend's advice was the best. Salem stood up and pulled an olive green sweater from the pile along with a pair of girl's denim skinny jeans, a black scarf, and his favorite black beanie. He grabbed his things and headed into the bathroom to change and do his makeup. Fifteen minutes later he exited the bathroom changed and with a fresh coat of black eyeliner and peppermint flavored lip balm. He attempted to tame his curly hair but to no avail and slid on the slouchy, black beanie. He checked himself in the mirror on his wall before he headed downstairs. Mattias gave him a nod of approval as he did a very feminine spin in the front hall. He grabbed his car keys and checked his watch. PASKA! If he didn't leave immediately he'd be late meeting Mordecai at the park. He looked around madly for his messenger bag and inwardly groaned when he saw the last one he'd carried was a panda and bow print one. He wouldn't have time to change out bags so he grabbed it from the front table and headed out the door.
He slid into the modest size black car he'd purchased a few years back and turned on the ignition. It was a five minute drive from his apartment to the park. He debated listening to his ipod but stowed it away in favor of a cigarette. His shaky hands lit the end of the cig and he dropped ash all over himself to which he rebuttaled with a string of Finnish swear words. Judas Priest I'm going insane here! I have GOT to pull it together before--
"Verinen helvetti oppia ajamaan vitun idiootti!!" Salem swore in Finnish as some jockstrap cut him off, he added the middle finger for more effect.
Finally he arrived at the park, his stomach dancing around and his nerves completely shot. Salem took a deep breath, finishing up his cigarette before he slipped out of his car and locked it. He checked himself in the car's mirror twice more and focused on his breathing. After he was sure he wasn't going to have a panic or asthma attack he headed for the spot where he was to meet Mordecai. He felt very nervous as he walked into the park, the leaves crunching under the weight of his black converse low-tops, Thankfully the other boy hadn't decided to randomly bolt on him, Salem smiled as he spotted Mordecai in the gazebo. Salem's footsteps seeming way too loud on the gazebo steps. As he spotted Cai standing up he gently hugged the smaller boy.
"Omgod, Cai. I thought you wouldn't show. I was so worried." Salem smiled as he awkwardly broke the hug.

Mordecai took in a breath and let it out. He was doing his best to calm down. He turned around at the moment Salem showed up, and Mordecais face became red and his stomach gave another twist of nerves. “He- Mordecais words were caught off by a hug. He blushed again, and lightly stepped back after the hug. Not in a retreating, just a light careful step so he wasn’t looking Salem right in the face. Mordecai ignored what he felt after the hug, denying he felt anything. Mordecai looked down at the ground, he felt really awkward as usual. “ Uh ya, I showed. Mordecai silently winced at the stupidity of his words. Mordecai was never good at talking to girls, a weird attraction for a guy was no different. Mordecai was always going to be a awkward blundering weirdo.
“ So uh, how are you” Mordecai looked toward the ground, his eyes flicking over Salem’s bag. He almost laughed but that would have been plain rude. Mordecai looked sheepishly up at Salem before looking back down. Why did he feel so awkward ? It had only been a hug. He had hugged a few guys before in only a friendly way. His stomach was flipping and turning like crazy, he was so nervous. He felt like he was shaking, but he knew he wasn’t. Mordecai let out a little mental sigh, it was only a guy. He shouldn’t be so dang nervous. Mordecai felt out of place. The sun felt hot as it came down around him shining through into the Gazebo right into his eyes.
Mordecai went to sit on the bench before he collapsed. Looking over to Salem, looking over his outfit. It was quite different from the last time he had seen him, that was for sure. Mordecai felt like his skinny jeans and simple plaid were much underdressed. He bit his tongue so his teeth would stop chattering. Mordecai ran his fingers through his hair. He smiled lightly at Salem’s Gir bracelet, how could you not love Gir? He looked back down at the ground. Tracing the cracks with the tip of his foot. Stop being so nervous, it just another guy. Mordecai kept repeating the same line in his head, to no avail. He didn’t understand at all. Even if he felt the attraction, Mordecai still didn’t understand. He wasn’t oblivious, but he still didn’t understand it completely.

Salem felt relieved that Mordecai seemed just as nervous as he did. Well, it just made things more akward as they both seemed to be painfully shy. When Salem broke the hug he blushed as Cai looked down, already his stomach felt ravaged by butterflies. He nervously tugged at a thread on the hem of his sweater, though tried not to unravel it. He blushed again when Cai spoke, his face unconsiously curving into a shy but happy smile. He loved Cai's voice almost as much as he reveled in the adorable, awkwardness the boy seemed to have about him. Like an untouched, unblemished innocence of a rose not yet picked. Salem had already lost his v-card for a guy and god that'd not ended well. But he was determined not to let his past affect his future anymore.
"I'm doing well, sore from being attacked by a falling tower of clothes, but fine. How are you doing, Cai?" He winced at his own stupid attempt at a joke and blushed when Cai's name slipped from his lips.
When Mordecai had gone to sit on the bench Salem hestitated a moment. He wasn't sure how badly his nerves would fail him if he sat beside the boy he was currently falling for. God...did I just say that?! I've only seen him twice now and only spoken to him the same number of time. But I feelt this connection with him that is so strong. Perhaps I'm being stupid. Salem nervously shuffled his feet, biting his lip and attempting not to blush. Which he failed miserably at. He made his way over to the bench Cai was sitting on and gingerly lowered himself beside the boy.
He tried to figure out what to do with his hands when his left hand brushed against Cai's right. He literally felt sparks pass and resisted the urge to cry out in joy at the feeling he had. He almost felt like one of those princesses in the Disney films he'd watched as a child and looked around, half expecting singing woodland creatures to come dancing out of the woods. Salem felt so happy, so shy, and had this overload of emotions going on. He nervously smirked at the ground then looked up and met Cai's eyes. He almost melted in the color of them. He'd not properly seen them until now and the chocolate brown color was something he could get lost in. He scooted a little closer to Cai, the same shy smile still flicking on his face. Then he took a mental deep breath and let his hand fall 'accidentally' against Cai's. Salem was so awkward he had no clue what to say.
"Cai, I feel the need to tell you something. Because if I don't I might never have the courage to. Cai, I have really enjoyed these couple meetings and I, uh, ah. I, uhm, I like you. Alot. And I dunno if you feel the same or not but I wanted to tell you. I erm, really like you." Salem felt light headed and dizzy once he'd confessed his feelings. It was worse than the Catholic confessionals he'd been to as a kid, much worse.
Salem didn't even bother to wait for an awnser before he gently slipped his hand into Cai's and felt the familiar blush rising to his cheeks again. He could only hope the boy had half the feelings he did. This was going to be even more awkward, if even possible, if Cai didn't respond well. He adored the feeling of Cai's smaller hand in his own and the warmth of their being so close together. Salem wanted love more than anything under the sun, he wanted something that made the sun rise every morning and the moon set every evening. That was all Salem had ever wanted, ever craved, was love. And he hoped he had found something with Cai that would be special. He couldn't help being scared after all he'd been disowned by his mother for being bisexual, his friends constantly poked fun at him for his feminine ways, and he felt so alone in such a big wide world.

Mordecai watched as Salem sat down, seeing him blush. Mordecai was still looking down. He was so confused, he didn’t know what to do. Mordecai brought his eyes up when Salem touched his hand accidentally. He felt sparks, but that couldn’t be right could it? Mordecai blushed and looked back down. Running his shaky hand through his hair again. The longer he denied what he felt the worse it would get, Mordecai was so confused he could almost cry. This was no joking matter. Did he really have feelings for another guy? Not to mention someone older than he. Mordecai wanted to rip his hair out, scream at the sky. Nothing felt right, but at the same time it did. He felt a certain happiness he couldn’t place when around Salem. He felt different around him.
Mordecai smiled sheepishly at Salem as he scooted closer. He looked down at his hand when it fell on top of his. Was he putting the moves on him? Mordecai mentally shook his head. He was probably just thinking that. Mordecai half wished he was, and the other half didn’t know what to feel. Mordecai looked down at his hand again and blushed. His palms were sweaty, and he was embarrassed about that. Mordecai looked at Salem as he talked. His stomach twisted and churned. He felt shaky. Mordecais eyes were questioning, as he looked. Trying so hard to figure his feelings out.
"Cai, I feel the need to tell you something. Because if I don't I might never have the courage to. Cai, I have really enjoyed these couple meetings and I, uh, ah. I, uhm, I like you. Alot. And I dunno if you feel the same or not but I wanted to tell you. I erm, really like you."
Mordecai blushed and he almost wanted to yip in shock. He felt Salems hand tighten around his own. Mordecai looked back at his hand, then back to Salem. His tongue felt like it was to big for his mouth, and he felt a cold sweat break out on his back. Mordecai felt relieved but at the same time even more confused. He wanted to cry, and scream. Everything felt so, so, different. So out of place. So wrong but right. Mordecais blush was so red he wondered if they could see him from outer space. Mordecai smiled sheepishly, a small little a smile. He thought his heart might stop at that very moment. He didn’t know what to say back, he knew what he wanted to say, but he wasn’t entirely sure he could voice them. He felt his heart rise to his throat.
“ Salem, Im confused..” Mordecai gulped, thinking that everyone in the park could hear him. “ I like you a lot too, and I havent ever felt this way before….. About another guy and it… uh scares me.. “ The words came out fast and without much pause. Might as well go for the truth. Mordecai looked at Salem, and felt more confused than ever. What were these feelings? Mordecai his tongue. His stomach flipped and flopped, his hands felt shaky. He could barely breath. Even though it felt like he had taken a ton of his shoulders, Mordecai was still feeling odd. Mordecai wanted to know what Salem though of what he said, and he hoped for the better. He wanted Salem to be ok with that, to not think it was a rejection. It was very far from one in fact. [/blockquote][/blockquote] STARRING : Mordecai and Salem! WORDS : IDK! Salem shyly met Cai's glance as their hands accidentally touched. Almost as they were syncronized Salem glanced back down at the same moment Cai did. He felt like he was going to explode in happiness but also like his insides were going to become untangleable. He felt another small smile tugging at the corner of his lips when he spotted Cai running his fingers through that amazingly beautifully messy hair of his. Salem could have sat there for hours just watching the slightest movement his crush made. Everything he did absolutely fascinated Salem, especially since the only other relationship he'd had was very unstable and built on bad things. Oh yes, he'd fallen hard and fast for Tony, but that feeling soon turned into fear and torment. Even more so after what happened between he and his mother. But now his mother wasn't around to dictate whom, and what gender, he could have feelings for.
Salem's breath stuttered in his throat when he saw Cai finally give a shy smile back when he scooted closer. So he wasn't totally frightening the younger boy. He knew that being in high school was a confusing time and he respected that but he was so far gone in his crush that he could scarcely see straight sometimes. And when he put his hand gently over Cai's and the younger boy didn't jump away in disgust he very nearly felt his insides melt into a proverbial puddle. Salem caught Cai's gaze, what appeared a look of confusion, and hoped he hadn't messed things up. After he finished his confession his shoulders visibly relaxed. He had gotten it out there, aired like laundry on a line for all to see. When he spotted Cai looking between their hands and Salem's face he smiled and gently, very softly, rubbed his thumb over the top of Cai's hand. It was meant to be a gesture of affirmation, that Cai didn't have to be so scared.
'Salem, Im confused.. I like you a lot too, and I havent ever felt this way before….. About another guy and it… uh scares me..'
Salem nodded, biting his lip as he listened. Scared? He knew that feeling all to well, in fact he'd been through the very same thoughts and fear and emotions he heard in both Cai's tone and his words. He braved a look into Cai's eyes and gave him what he hoped was a reassuring smile. He looked down at the ground, focusing his attention on a small leaf as he thought on how to approach the subject. A soft wind had kicked up in the air, making Salem shiver unconsiously. It wasn't so much his worry that he'd scare the poor little Junior away as it was that the fear of his heart getting hurt again.
"Cai, darling, I totally understand. I'll let you in on a little secret...something I've never told another soul. I met this guy back two summers ago and I had all these bizzare feelings for him. Feelings like my heart raced at his touch, that every word he spoke gave me butterflies, that everything about him seemed to make me feel special, warm, fuzzy. Tony and I began a fleeting relationship with one another, something I'd been taught from a child on was immoral in the eyes of a higher power. One evening Tony and I were, ah, uh, in the middle of something and my mother walked in on us. She kicked me out of the house that night and called me a blasphemy, an abomination, and said I was dead to her. She even went as far as to beat the living hell out of me, nearly putting me in the hospital, because I was a failure to her. Cai, what I am getting at is that I understand you're scared, confused, unsure. And I am willing to try to help you through those feelings if you'll, ah-uhm, give me a chance." Salem felt the stinging sensation of wanting to cry as he described how his mother treated him and how he felt now.
Salem turned in his seat so he was facing Cai and took both of the smaller boy's hands in his own. He smiled at Cai and shyly looked down. He knew what he was about to do could easily drive the smaller one away, but it was the only way he'd been sure about how he felt about guys. He'd always thought maybe it was just the attention that made him feel the way he did but until he had actually kissed another guy he hadn't been positive. And this is what Salem felt he needed with Cai, in order for Cai to figure things out for himself. It was a risky move, a potentinally disasterous one for them both, but it had to be done. He scooted a little closer until he and Cai's knees were touching. Salem mentally took a deep breath before speaking again.
"Cai, I thought maybe it was just the thought of someone caring about me that made me feel that way about Tony. And please don't be scared or upset, okay? I didn't know until I did this test whether I really felt that way about guys or not." Salem said softly, hoping his nerves wouldn't fail him.
Salem closed his eyes for a few seconds, taking his time to gather his nerve to do what he had planned. He leaned forward, gently cupping Cai's chin in his hand. He put on hand on Cai's let and gently kissed the boy's lips. He instantly felt the spark he'd not felt with Tony as if fireworks were going off in his head. The kiss was short and Salem quickly drew back, putting his own hands in his lap and trying to slow the heaving of his chest from passion and anxiety. He slowly looked into Cai's eyes, trying to register the reaction he was about to see. He only hoped it would be a good one.

Mordecai looked down at his hand that wasn’t occupied. Flexing his fingers one by one. Mordecais check would probably be stained red for now one; he hadn’t blushed so much in his life time. He had blushed enough today to last a whole life time. Mordecai felt numb inside, and his head was spinning. His emotions were lying out on a line; open to anyone who wanted to just tear them away from him. Mordecai could barely breathe normally; each breath was shaky and greatly needed. His cheeks felt hot against his cold skin. Mordecai ran his fingers through his hair again, it was a nervous habit. Mordecai felt the spark of when Salem gently rubbed his hand fly through his arm and into his face. Mordecai had tossed and turned in bed thinking of the things he felt between him and Salem, some nights he convinced himself it was his imagination, some nights he never slept thinking of possibilities. Mordecai hadn’t slept a full night since he had met Salem the first time. Mordecai remembered how one evening he had convinced himself full heartedly that Salem was only a figment of his imagination, and that he was going crazy. Mordecai felt like this was all a dream. He had to pinch himself before he got here to just make sure. Even if this was all a dream, it was one of the oddest, yet finest Mordecai had ever had. Cai, what I am getting at is that I understand you're scared, confused, unsure. And I am willing to try to help you through those feelings if you'll, ah-uhm, give me a chance. Mordecai shook his head and listened to Salem. Blushing at his words; “ In the middle of something.” One could only guess what that meant. Mordecai watched Salem as he scooted closer. What was he about to do? Mordecai wasn’t use to this, he had no idea what to expect. He had never been in a real relationship, nor had he had his first kiss. Mordecai also wasnt hit on a whole lot, so he didn’t really see anything as a “move” or sexual gesture. It just wasn’t how his mind worked. "Cai, I thought maybe it was just the thought of someone caring about me that made me feel that way about Tony. And please don't be scared or upset, okay? I didn't know until I did this test whether I really felt that way about guys or not." Mordecai questiongly, what was he about to do? Mordecai looked at Salem, ready to open his mouth to spew his feelings. He wanted to tell Salem that he had stood on kind of the same ground with this mother. He wanted to ask questions. “ “ Salem” Mordecai wasn’t able to get out much more. Salem leaned forward and kissed him. Mordecai was shocked, feeling his body fill with such an emotion, a feeling of longing. Mordecai was barely able to respond before Salem pulled back. That was it? Mordecai couldn’t see straight his head was spinning. His cheeks burned a bright red. Mordecai put his finger to his lips, still feeling the sparks. It was impossible now, to deny any feelings. Mordecai looked and Salem, and he couldn’t say anything. His insides defiantly were numb now, and he didn’t know what to think. Mordecai had liked the kiss, and he had felt sparks that lit up the atmosphere around them. The rest of the world didn’t even matter, it’s they were the only two there. Mordecai couldn’t speak, not a bit. His mouth felt dray and his tongue too big for his mouth. “ I uh.. well I don’t know what to say...” That had been Mordecai’s first ever kiss, and honestly it was fantastic. Even though he didn’t notice it, there was probably more sparks there than any kisses me might have for the rest of his life. “ I mean it was nice! I mean a nice kiss...” Mordecai was just digging his grave deeper, he was really trying not to offend Salem. He enjoyed the kiss yes, but he didn’t know how to express it. Salem's heart pounded when he had leaned into the kiss, making him wonder if he were going to have an anxiety attack right then and there. Yeah, cause that would give the perfect impression. Not. And he vaguely thought he heard his name but couldn't be sure. As soon as their lips met though every fear or question Salem could have ever had melted away. It was like having tunnel vision, all he was aware of was himself and the warmth of Cai beside him. He felt like a fire had crept up from the pit of his stomach and was slowly spreading to every inch of his body. He felt passion, happiness, sorrow, pain, and...love. All at once and was so overwhelmed he felt dizzy. He had never felt this way with Tony, never once did Tony make him feel so many things at once. Salem felt like he could have continued the kiss for hours on end but broke it, the most honest smile he'd had in months appearing on his full lips.
Salem watched carefully for any emotions appearing on Cai's face, secretly praying to whatever diety might be listening that he hadn't scared him off. Then he saw the bliss as he pulled away and knew Cai had enjoyed it. Which meant Cai wasn't bicurious he was, at the least, bisexual. Indeed he had spent so many nights lately wondering just what would happen if he and Cai were to ever do just such a thing. He thought sometimes maybe he was so hopelessly lovesick that he just imagined the look in Cai's eyes the night at the club. That maybe he was so desperate for that love that he had put too much thought into every movement, tone of voice, glance. But he had it affirmed for him that Cai liked him a lot as he saw the boy's face. Salem's stomach did flips and he resisted the urge to kiss Mordecai again.
I uh.. well I don’t know what to say... I mean it was nice! I mean a nice kiss...'
Salem couldn't help but laugh that deep, booming, throaty laugh he had when Cai stuttered over his words. Salem's mouth seemed permanently carved into a small smile now and he scooted back beside Cai, gently wrapping an arm around the small of his back. He sighed happily, his unusually bright green eyes twinkling at the thought of having such an amazing boy kiss him back. His face took on a more serious look as he glanced down into Cai's eyes again. He forced himself not to get lost in their chocolatey depths and to not kiss him again. Sure, Cai had been very awkward in his kiss, but Salem doubted he'd kissed very much. He bit his lip before he let a softer version of the smile he'd been wearing appear.
"Cai," The tone came out a little more throaty than he'd intended and he blushed before he continued, "I can see it in your eyes that you felt what I felt when we kissed. Cai, I want you to know I do care about you very much. And I'd love, maybe someday, if you'd be..uh, ah, if you'd be my boyfriend. Though I'm willing to wait until you're ready, of course. But Cai you've shown me that love isn't just a phrase casually thrown down in one of my novels, it does exist. And that I don't have to be scared of falling for someone again."
Salem, before waiting for his awnser, kissed Cai once more on the lips. It was brief and soft, but it was just a reassuring gesture towards the younger boy. He wondered if perhaps he were moving, too, fast. But if Cai had any interest in him at all then Salem was willing to wait as long as it took. He gently took one of Cai's hands in his own again, sitting close enough that his shoulder brushed against the younger boy's own. He couldn't keep the smile off of his lips, having been happier than he had in months. He was willing to do anything for love, and anything for Cai. He would make sure he didn't do things wrong this time. He would cherish every second he spent with Cai, every fleeting glance they exchanged, the warmth of his body against Cai's. He would revel in every dream he had, every future plan that was made in sand or on stone. He was falling in love with Cai more and more every minute they spent together. He only hoped that Cai felt the same.

Mordecai looked about, wondering if anyone was looking at them. Mordecai felt his cheeks redden again, and he slowly covered his trembling lips with his hand. Why couldn’t he stop shaking? Why did he feel so.so… out of his ordinary? Mordecai wanted answers and he didn’t know how to get them. He moved his hand but still bit his lip. The day seemed unusually bright all the sudden, and he felt out of place. Mordecai had been so into his own little bubble of reality he had forgotten the rest of the world. Sighing he turned back, glad that no one had entered the gazebo were they sat. Mordecai still didn’t know what to think of everything. He liked it, no no, he really liked it, and he wanted more. Then he had to think about how he had never been with a girl before, and he thought his thoughts were kind of one sided.
Mordecai looked at Salem, his confusing still straying in his eyes. Passion also burned in his eyes, even if he didn’t realize it yet. It was a burning fire, almost making the confusion go away. Mordecai watched as Salem smiled again, making Mordecai’s insides melt a little more. Mordecai blushed again when Salem said his name, it wasn’t that he said it, but how He had said it. Blushing again he listened to his words, feeling the truth behind them. Mordecai rubbed his arm, feeling cold.
Mordecai stopped in his tracks, putting his hands in his lap. Boyfriend? Mordecai had never been in a relationship before not to mention with another guy! Mordecai wanted to be with Salem of course, but he just didn’t know what to think. So much attraction, Salems very touch left Mordecai clueless, his mind blank. A part of him wanted to stand up and shout yes, but that was hardly the way to go about this. Mordecai went to answer and once again before he could answer; he was kissed.
His mind went blank again but the kiss made up his mind. “ Salem.. Uh.. Umm really like to be your b-b-oyfirend?” Mordecai stuttered a little, and he blushed again. He couldn’t think of anything to say, and that was the first thing to pop into his head so he had said it. He felt like an idiot and he wondered if he should say anything else. “ I uh like.. You a lot Salem and I havent uh… F-felt this way before…” Mordecai wondered if he should make a move, like put his arm around him or something. Mordecai knew well he couldn’t kiss Salem, he for sure didn’t have enough courage for that. The prospect made his heart thump wildly in his chest. He licked his lips again, his mouth feeling dry. Mordecai had never kissed anyone before, two kisses in one day was quite an achievement for him. Mordecai wanted another kiss, he could hardly stand it, but he could be patient knowing he could never make such a move. Salems body so close to Mordecais was making him dizzy, he couldn’t think straight. Mordecai looked up at Salem and saw him smiling, making his heart go erratic again. Mordecai made his decision, and quickly he leaned up and kissed Salem with as much passion as he could, his heart thumping so loud the whole park could probably hear.

It took all of Salem's will not to giggle at the shocked look on Cai's face. It was like watching a child who just recieved an unexpected birthday surprise and it made Salem's stomach do flips once again. Everything about Cai made his stomach do happy swirls and made his heart thump like mad. He let a soft smile take the place of the worried look he'd previously worn, gently taking Cai's hand in his own so the poor boy wouldn't be touching his lips. This is when he noticed the passion flaring up like flames in Cai's eyes. It was unlike anything Salem had seen in his previous flings, even in his past relationships. Salem found himself lost in those flames, wanting, willing for that passion to become his. He'd never felt this strongly about a guy this quickly before. It made all of those times he'd professed his love seem like silly puppy crushes in comparison to this. As he said Cai's name in that throat, sultry tone he hadn't meant to use he saw Cai melt a little in his eyes.
As he spoke he felt Mordecai put his hands in his own lap, as if he were making that distance apparently. It was enough to almost make Salem falter in his words but he managed to keep going. He was going to get everything out on the table then let Cai make his own decisions. He felt that familiar tug in his chest as though he were about to have an anxiety attack. This would not be something he'd do anywhere, especially in the gazebo of a crowded park. But it was neutral ground for them both, or at least had been until Salem had become so forward. He was a man possessed by the eternal flames of a passionate love that wanted to consume his entire being. He was half a person and it seemed as though Cai came along to make him whole again. Indeed, whenever he was around the smaller boy he felt complete, a total euphoric completeness. Whenever he was around Cai he felt like the world could be coming to a bloody, violent in around him and he would be okay. And when he kissed Cai again he didn't feel the same tension as the first time, it was as if Cai were letting him into his world bit by bit.
'Salem.. Uh.. Umm really like to be your b-b-oyfirend?' 'I uh like.. You a lot Salem and I havent uh… F-felt this way before…'
Salem's chest did erratic flips of joy as he broke into a huge grin. His world was like angels singing a chorus and even the drab park surrounding them seemed a little brighter. It was as though he had been sitting in monotone for so long and was finally seeing the world in vivid technicolor. As he saw the nervousness in Cai's eyes he didn't try to move in on the poor boy again, rather letting nature take it's due course. He went to speak but was shocked as he felt Cai's lips on his own. His lips parted in a throaty sigh as he kissed Cai back, his arms gently wrapping around the smaller boy's waist. Passion he'd had stored away for months, years even, came through and it was like fireworks in his head. He finally broke the kiss, a distinctive heat racing up his spine and neck. He scooted so he had Cai half into his lap, laying his head on the smaller boy's head and lacing his fingers through Cai's. He felt totally at peace and he smiled another smirky grin.
"Cai, you've made me the happiest man in the entire world. I do believe the world will be better now. I am so happy you're my boyfriend now, Cai. I won't let anyone hurt you ever again, I promise. Things will be better now." Salem said softly as he rubbed his thumb over the top of Cai's hand.

Mordeca closed his eyes to feel even more of the kiss, loving the feeling of Salems sigh against his lips. Mordecai liked Salems arms around his waist. After the kiss Moredcai blushed again, and gave a content sigh before he even realized it. Which made him blush even more. Mordecai looked down and cleared his throat. He smiled at like a loon and kept his head down. Mordecai felt the knots in his stomach loosen. “ That was uhh nice..” Mordecai hadn’t talked much the whole time, he realized. Mordecai leaned back down.
"Cai, you've made me the happiest man in the entire world. I do believe the world will be better now. I am so happy you're my boyfriend now, Cai. I won't let anyone hurt you ever again, I promise. Things will be better now.“
Mordecai looked up at Salem, still smiling slightly. His stomach did flips at the word boyfriend. Mordecai didn’t know how he could possibly make anyone happy, Mordecai had been taught already that he couldn’t since he was a baby. Suddenly he felt sick to his stomach and his hear constricted in his chest. Mordecai closed his eyes shut, trying to shake the memories away. That’s what he needed at the moment a panic attack was really nice. Mordecai felt the comfort of Salems body so close to his and it calmed him.
Mordecai concentrated on were he was now and he calmed down. Mordecai’s heart stopped beating loudly and he was able to think again. “ I-I cant even put into words how I feel now..” Mordecai was speaking the truth, his body felt numb and like every cell in his body was vibrating. Mordecai blushed slightly when he looked at Salem again. “ I mean it feels so different, Salem.. I know we haven’t you know seen each other a whole lot but when I am with you I feel like such a different person. Like I can be me again.” Mordecai blushed again.
Mordecais heart beat rapidly in his chest again. Mordecai grabbed Salems hand and brought his hand to Mordecais heart. “ You uhh make my heart beat like this.” Mordecai blushed and looked at Salem. His heart beat even faster and he blushed. It was like he was taking drugs, except his drug of choice was Salem. “ Does it always feel like this.. I mean being with someone you really like?” It sounded foolish, but Mordecai wanted to know. Mordecai felt like that one little kid who always asked to many questions.

Salem's face flushed red as they broke the kiss again, his lips turning back up into a smile as he heard Cai's response. He'd been told he was a great kisser though hadn't had much experience other than his few exs and a couple of drunken parties in high school. Salem just held Cai, listening to the distinctive beating of his own heart and feeling Cai's pulse against him. His green eyes seemed more vibrant now than usual giving them an almost cat-like coloration. He had never felt more at home than he did now and everything he had been through in the past year seemed like a long-forgotten memory. He didn't want to dwell on his past anymore, he wanted to move forward and see the brightness of his future. He closed his eyes against the warmth he shared with Cai, the smile never slipping for a single second.
'I-I cant even put into words how I feel now.. I mean it feels so different, Salem.. I know we haven’t you know seen each other a whole lot but when I am with you I feel like such a different person. Like I can be me again.'
Salem pulled back so he could properly see Cai's face. He caught traces of fear in the smaller boy's eyes and had to wonder what could have been so terrible to make him feel like he needed to hide who he was. Who would want to hurt someone as amazing as Cai? He wasn't one to push a tough subject so he simply leaned down and kissed the middle of Cai's forehead.
"Darling, as long as I have air in my lungs to breath I don't want you to ever feel scared again. As long as I have a pulse I will always be there to protect you from everything that could want to harm you. Cai, you're an amazing, beautiful, wonderful person. And there is no one in this world who could possibly give me an ounce of the happiness you've given me these past few times we've met up. I-I love you, very much, Cai." Salem whispered as he pulled Cai close to him.
When he felt his finger's being lifted up he felt electric spreading from his finger tips through his arm and chest. He suddenly realized Cai had put Salem's hand over his chest. He blushed at the closeness of them as much as the fluttering of Cai's heart under his fingertips. When Cai asked if that was what it was supposed to feel like he almost melted at the sound of his voice. Salem gently took Cai's hand and placed it over his own heart which was thundering like a stampede of wild horses. He used his other hand to gently tilt Cai's chin up so he could look into those beautiful chocolate brown eyes. His throat rumbled in a soft chuckle as he thought for a moment about the question. He didn't really know the awnser as he'd never felt this way about anyone before. Considering he was a poetic genius it puzzled him why he had such a hard time coming up with things to say.
"I am inclined to believe it feels more like this, Cai." Salem purred softly.
He gently took the smaller boy's hands and put his arms over Salem's shoulders, giving Salem a better vantage point. He began kissing Cai's collar bone then worked his way up Cai's chin until he got to Cai's lips, hovering for a moment to build the anticipation. He gently kissed Cai again, his body tingling at the feeling of Cai's lips against his own. He let the kiss linger before gently breaking it and chuckling again under his breath.
"Yeah, I believe that is exactly what it feels like. Cai, you should come to my house tonight. I'll cook you something special." Salem smiled, his forehead resting against Cai's as he spoke with his eyes still closed.

Mordecai didn’t blush this time, but his heart still beat rapidly. Love? Had they known each other long enough? Mordecai couldn’t deny what he felt was strong, but he would never have guessed Salem would feel the same. Mordecai’s heart melted as he looked into Salem’s green eyes, and Mordecai had stop himself from getting lost in them. “ I l-love you too Salem, and now it doesn’t really scare me anymore” Mordecai gave Salem a reassuring smile. Mordecai couldn’t help but smile a little more at Salems chuckles as well as blush. Mordecai watched as Salem took Mordecai’s smaller hand with his bigger one and put it over his own heart.
Mordecai felt a energy pass through his whole body when Salem touched him. His eyes registered his shock for the slightest of moments. Mordecai felt Salem’s hear beat and found it was just like his. Mordecais eyes flickered from Salem’s chest to his eyes, Mordecais brown eyes showing the burning embers of the passion he felt. Salem’s words melted his heart again, but the passion in his eyes only grew stronger. Mordecai had but not a chance to think before his arms were around Salem.
Mordecai opened his mouth to speak but no words were able to come out. All that came out was a small moan that made Mordecai blush, he hadn’t meant to do that. Mordecai mentally bonked himself in the head for his stupidity and he closed his mouth. Mordecai’s blushed grew deeper by each kiss until finally he reached his lips. Mordecai once again exploded with passion alas the kiss was too short. Even though they hadn’t shared many kisses Mordecai was already hungry for more of them. Salem left Mordecai breathless once again fighting to get his train of thought back.
“ I can’t think of what to say..” Mordecai was still blushing and now he felt like a fish out of water. Dinner? Mordecai’s stomach did flips again. Could he possibly go to Salems house and everything be alright? Mordecai pushed thoughts out of his head and looked up at Salem. “ Are you sure? I mean, yes I would like too.” Mordecai blushed again, feeling stupid.
