"No biggie, I'll just hit the gym." She smacked her lips glamorously at her best friend and turned for the door. Hannah sauntered coolly out of the restaurant, but once she got to the parking lot, she broke into a run. She climbed inside her Toyota Prius - a car her mom had bought for herself last year but had recently handed off to Hannah because she'd grown tired of it - and checked her face in the rear view mirror. There were hideous bright red patches on her cheeks and forehead. After her transformation, Hannah had been neurotically careful about not only looking cool and perfect at all times, but being cool and perfect, too. Terrified that the tiniest mistake would send her spiraling back to the old Hannah, she labored over every last detail, from little things like the perfect I'M screen name and the right mix for her car, to bigger stuff like the combination of people she decided to party with and choosing the parting it boy to date. Had lying to everyone tarnish the perfect, controlled, cool Hannah that everyone had come to know and like?
Hannah's field of vision went blurry. She squeezed the steering wheel for a few seconds, then jammed the key into the ignition and rolled out of the country club parking lot to a gravelly, dead-end turn-off a few yards down the road. She could hear her heart pounding at her temples as she turned off the engine and took deep breaths. The wind smelled like hay and just mown grass. Hannah shut her eyes tight. When she opened them, she stared at the container of sweet potato fries she had ordered with Camden. Don't, she thought as a car swished by one the road. Hannah wiped her hands on her jeans. She snuck another peek at the fries. They smelled delicious. Don't, don't, don't.
She reached over for them and opened the lid, the sweet warm smell wafted throughout the car. Before she could stop herself, Hannah shoved handful after handful of fries into her mouth, not taking the least bit of time to fully chew her food. It was such a relief; this was the only thing that had made her feel better. At first she felt much, much calmer. But by the time she pulled into the gym's parking lot, the old, familiar feeling of panic and shame had welled up insider her. Hannah was amazed how, even though it had been years since she'd done this, everything felt exactly the same. Her stomach ached, her pants felt tight, and all she wanted was to be rid of what was insider of her. Ignoring the gym employee who wanted her to check in, Hannah bolted to the women's locker room and found the bathroom. She slammed the door behind her and collapsed onto the tiled floor. Thank God no one was in the locker room, or so she thought. At least no one would hear what Hannah was about to do.

Robbie drove down the road in his old beat up Monte Carlo, heading to the gym. Sure, all his friends made fun of his old hoopty when he couldn't drive it in the winter, but he got it in running condition himself and has been driving it for as long as he legally could. It's not the coolest car in the world, but it gets him from point A to point B.
He turned the wheel to the left as he pulled into the gym parking lot. There weren't as many people here today as there usually are. Robert never did come to the gym as often as he should, but every once in a blue moon he goes to the gym. As seldom as his visits are it couldn't be helping much, but he seemed to stay fit. It couldn't be hurting much either.
He signed the check-in book and let the person behind the counter scan his card. "Have a nice day." he said with a smile, walking towards the men's locker room. He changed from his loose skinny jeans and button-up shirt to a pair of basketball shorts and an old t-shirt. As he walked out of the room he heard what sounded like someone throwing up in the women's locker room.
He smiled a little to himself. Someone must have been working out a little too hard. He thought, and sat down at a weight bench near the entrance to the women's locker rooms. The sound of vomiting got harder and didn't stop. It was ordinary for people to throw up at the gym, but this was bad. He opened the door to the locker room a little while knocking on it to let the person know that he was there.
"Hello?" He said. "Is everything okay?"

Hannah looked up from the porcelain toilet as she heard the concerned sounds of a guy, her left hand still holding back her long blond hair. Was Hannah really being that loud while she was throwing up that he had heard her from the other side of the door? Embarrassed, Hannah quickly stood up and made her way toward the sink to clean herself off, still silent as she thought about what she was going to say next. It wasn't unusual for the gym's patrons to throw up, especially after a grueling work out, but it had to be obvious that Hannah wasn't working out. If Hannah would have changed into her workout clothes before she expelled all of her stomach's contents, the potential lie would have been feasible but she remained next to the sink with her now grease-stained jeans and her white halter top. Nervously, Hannah spoke - her voice shaky and unconvincing as she touched herself up in the mirror. "Y-yeah, I-I'm fine."
The hideous patches that were once on her cheeks and forehead vanished, but her guilt still remained. One would think that this would only be a slight bump in the road, considering that was the reason her transformation happened so quickly. This situation reminded her about Allison, and how much she could hate the girl despite them being best friends. Allison was the only person besides Camden that knew the old Hannah, and as much as she considered Allison her best friend, she instantly hated the bitch who made her feel bad about her weight. "Stop eating so much you fat ass" , "Your going with the large, really?" and "No guy will ever love a fat Hannah" were just a few of the hurtful words that Allison filled in Hannah's head to make her want to change her image. In some way, Hannah was fine with being the way she used too because she was comfortable in being herself, but since she become someone that mattered she knew she had too keep that image intact.
Brushing herself off she looked in the mirror once more, finalizing her image as she began to make her way toward the door, her breathing noticeably shallower as she took hold of the door. Opening it, she noticed a concerned look on the boy's face. He was cute, noticeably around her age and seemingly seemed like a good guy. Times like this, Hannah would have flirted with the boy but it was seemingly not an option due to the fact that Hannah was caught throwing up in the locker room by him. She put up an uneasy smile and nodded quietly as she shuffled out of the bathroom, her embarrassment only doubling as she avoided eye contact with him. "Excuse me." she mumbled as she side stepped around the boy. She didn't want to say anything to the boy if she could help it, it was already embarrassing enough.

"Y-yeah, I-I'm fine."
Robbie heard the words and hoped that they were true. He took a step back out the door and stood in the doorway, but didn't let the door shut, so the girl would know he was still there.
He could hear the sound of weights being lifted, water running, and people making grunting sounds while they were working out, but it was all arbitrary to him. He just wanted to make sure that this girl was okay.
It wasn't uncommon for Robbie to do something like this and poke his nose into business that wasn't his, but he wanted to make sure that the girl was okay. If he just left her alone then he wouldn't be able to forgive himself later if it turns out to be worse than he thought.
As the girl uncomfortably moved past him in the door frame he looked her up and down. She wasn't wearing clothes from working out, and he hoped that it was because she just changed, but he doubted it.
He just stood there for a few moments and kept his eyes trained on some other people that were standing about. No one seemed to be paying them too much attention. "You're sure you're okay? You don't need anything?" He asked. The girl looked nervous, and maybe a little scared. "I don't mind at all.

The boy's sense of worry seemed genuine enough for Hannah to stop from quickly scurrying off to her car; it was something about his soft eyes to his worried voice coming from outside the locker room, to perhaps the fact that he had stayed there the whole time. "It's just been hot outside lately, and I just wasn't feeling well.." she lied, avoiding any sort of eye contact with the boy. Hannah was good at avoiding eye contact, especially when she was lying - all of which made it obvious that she wasn't telling the truth, and why should she. He was a complete stranger, and even he didn't expect her to just open up and tell him that she forced herself to throw up after over indulging in sweet potato fries. No way.
"Umm. Thanks for being worried I guess." she stated as she stood there motionless, her eyes slowly shifting back toward the guy. Part of her wanted to break down and express to him the guilty deed she had done just because he at least appeared like a caring guy. It wasn't going to be that easy. Hannah had kept this secret too long to express it to someone she had known for fifteen seconds (under poor circumstances at that). "I'm Hannah." she said finally, her clean hand extended to shake his. Hannah looked around the gym for a moment, observing all of the gym's patrons who seemed uninterested in their conversation. She had time to talk to him, or so she thought at least. She looked back at him and smiled sweetly too him. He was cute, that was the truth. At least someone found her at her worst that at least seemed to care.

"It's just been hot outside lately, and I just wasn't feeling well.."
The girl's lack of eye contact lead him to be skeptical, but he decided to believe her. He had only just met her moments ago, who was he to call her a liar? And even if she was, that was her business and not his. That still didn't stop him from wondering what reason she had for lying.
"Hannah." He said and smiled, testing the name out. "I'm Robbie. Keeping it short and sweet, he decide not to tell her his nickname, Smalltime. He liked the name, but not the story behind it. It started with a cop, if that says anything.
The sounds of the gym were distracting, and he wanted to have the conversation with the girl. She was pretty cute for having just gotten sick in the bathroom.
"Were you leaving? I can walk you out to your car if you'd like." He asked. He hadn't been to gym in days, one more couldn't hurt him any. He had only came because he was bored anyways.

Hannah couldn't help but force a smile from her pursed lips as the boy had repeated her name back at her, his voice rather soft and soothing. She looked up at him once more as he said his own name. "Robbie huh? I like it." she said, testing out his name like he had previously done to her. Hannah couldn't help but notice how loud the gym had gotten, as groups of people bussed their way into the gym, passing the two in the hallway as they made there way to their respective locker rooms. Hannah couldn't help but notice how Robbie was already changed in workout clothes. Did Hannah interrupt his workout with her vomiting? That made her feel bad. "If I'm interrupting your workout, I could talk to you later?" she wondered, her finger trailing down to point at his shorts and tank top.
Hannah actually wanted to talk to him, part of her hoped that he would make an excuse to skip his workout to partake in a conversation - he seemed nice enough to want to at least. It would give them both something to do and they both had nothing really to lose from it. "Yeah, uh, that would be great, but actually I was going to grab a coffee." she said. Kay, so it didn't make sense that she was 'sick' but going off to buy coffee, but Hannah ignored that. Robbie didn't seem to mind that she told an obvious lie, maybe he just didn't want to get involved. Good. Hannah wasn't about to open up about this, not anytime soon at least. "You can join if you'd like, I mean, if you don't want to work out."
