+ + - - - - - - - - - - - - sarah was going to the town square to meet dylan for some lunch. he had asked sarah if he could bring a guest. sarah had accepted and didn't showed in her expression that she really wanted to be alone with him. it hadn't helped when he said it was a girl he was bringing, but sarah had accepted. she was trying to be a good girlfriend and so far it had worked out okay, she thought. as she looked herself in the mirror, sarah sighed and didn't felt she looked good enough. she was wearing a light blue dress and a pair of blue flats. she sighed and decided to settle with this. her parents had known about dylan since the day he had been here the first time and that was about a month ago. they had warned her, but sarah was really happy and it seemed like she was feeling fine. so in some ways he did everything good. sarah then headed out to her car and drove the short way to the town square where she was supposed to meet dylan and his unknown guest. she headed over to the café and asked the waiter for a table for three and was placed at four person table and sat down and waited for them to arrive.

Dylan walked with Nora up to the cafe, chatting endlessly on the way there about anything but the cancer. It was almost as though if they didn't acknowledge it in their day to day lives that it would go away. Eventually they reached the cafe where he had agreed to meet Sarah. She'd not sounded overly thrilled about scrapping their romantic date in favour of a lunch for three, but she had taken it with good grace. Dylan felt though that Nora was such an important part of his life that he needed to introduce her to Sarah properly. Sarah needed to know about the girl she would be fighting with for Dylan's attention after all.
Dylan opened the door for Nora and followed her in, spotting Sarah already sitting down. He grabbed Nora from behind and wrapped his arms around her "Sarah!" he said loudly, slightly too loudly for the middle of the cafe. Social etiquette wasn't really Dylan's forte. "Meet the most important woman in my life" he grinned, planting a big kiss on Nora's head before releasing her. Slightly harsh thing to say maybe, Dylan hadn't really considered whether Sarah would find it offensive to be belittled into second place. He wasn't particulalrly bothered though, if Sarah was going to get angsty about him putting his sister first, he couldn't see things really working. Blood was thicker than water after all and the sister he had cared for for so many years would always take priority over a girlfriend he had known for mere weeks.
"This is Nora" he continued a little more quietly "My little sister". He leaned over and gave Sarah a small peck also before moving back next to Nora "And Nora, this is Sarah my.." with this Dylan paused, the bit 'g' word seeming oh so very daunting. He'd never adressed her as this before, never having really needed to define their relationship to anybody. "..the girl who has unbelievably been putting up with me for the last month" he finished, slightly changing his approach to the introduction. He smiled at Sarah, despite feeling he may well have just slightly rejected her.

TREATING LIFE LIKE A PICTURE
BUT IT'S NOT A MOMENT THAT'S FROZEN IN TIME. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . w i t h t h i s f e e l i n g i n s i d e m e t h a t i c an t e xp l a i n, Nora was thrilled to know that her brother was going to introduce her to his girlfriend. Not that it was the first time or something, the funny and exciting part was that Dylan was interested in one of Nora's very close friend and Dylan hardly knew that Nora and Sarah were friends. So this was going to be fun. She decided to give him a little surprise, or perhaps a big shock of week. a little teasing between siblings was harmless and fun. She dressed up quickly pulling on jeans and shirt and allowing her hair to stay open and bounce on her shoulder. She wore her comfy sneaker and headed out of house with her brother. Nora wasn't one of those girls to dress up all the time to look classy. She preferred simplicity over anything else. So it took her not more than 10 mins to get ready.
They talked about cancer endlessly throughout their drive to the cafe. It may sound funny to a few people but for nora, it was a bad to have her poor brother dealing with cancer in every corner. Earlier it was their, now it was Nora and Sarah and both of them meant a lot of Dylan. She walked in as Dylan held the door like a gentleman he was. Nora heard him call out Sarah's name and wrapped her arms around Nora, planting a kiss on her forehead and introducing her to Sarah in the most pleasant manner ever. Nora turned red. Her brother was so sweet. It was slightly awkward, having so many people staring at her but she could care less. There was nothing to compare her brother's love with the looks that people threw at them. Ignoring them, she hugged Dylan and turned her attention to Sarah, smiling at her widely.
Nora sat next to Sarah and put her hand on Sarah's shouler and motioned Dylan with her head to grab a chair. '' Oh and Dylan, meet my really very good friend, Sarah, the best girlfriend you can ever have.'' she grinned at Dylan. She knew they were together. Sarah had already told Nora about them. Dyan was going to be a little shocked but Nora couldn't help it. She had been waiting for Dylan to tell her that he was interested in Sarah but he never did that. So Nora never got her chance to tell him that she already knew Sarah and was good friends with her. '' And Sarah, you must know you're one lucky girl to have a boyfriend like my adorable brother. '' she said. Today was going to be a good day. She wasn't just with her best friends but with two lovers as well. '' Don't look at me like that, Dylan. You never gave me the chance tell you that Sarah is one of my good friends. But I must say, you two have good choices.'' She knew Dylan was shocked but this wasn't Nora's fault.

+ + - - - - - - - - - - - - sarah was quite anxious to see who it was he was bringing. because if it had been just the two of them, she had decided that now would be a good time to tell dylan about her condition. that she only would have limited time back to live. that she started to feel like she could love him and maybe already did. it had actually been quite a slap in the face when he had told her that he would bring a secret guest. but oh well, she had to accept it. soon, she heard the café door open and she looked up and saw not only dylan but also nora, one of her best friends. was that his guest?! sarah smiled brightly and stood up politely when they reached the table. sarah tried her hardest not to explode with laughter as he introduced nora to sarah and the other way around. it was only when dylan didn't introduced sarah as his girlfriend, her smile faded a little bit. okay, it was fair enough. he was still all new to this and so was she, so she shook it off, only being a little bit hurt. but that was soon forgotten when nora decided to make a joke about this. after nora introduced sarah to dylan, sarah laughed. this was hilarious. obviously, dylan had no idea that these two girls were almost best friends. sarah sent them both a great smile and sat down across them, placing her hands on the table for dylan to make reach into if he wanted to. she let nora about the apologizing, he could be mad if he wanted to. but sarah couldn't really be blamed. "i feel quite lucky, nora. i like your brother a lot." sarah said with a honest and sincere smile and really hoped that the feeling was mutual. and that he would brave enough to tell her how he really felt in front of nora too. sarah snapped out of it and looked down at her menu, then back to the two of them. "are you two hungry?" sarah was pretty starving, but she just smiled at them, really happy to see them.

Dylan stood looking at them both with his mouth hanging open. Wait, these two were friends? And pretty close ones at that. There was definitely something quite uncomfortable, even for Dylan, with screwing your little sister’s best mate he pondered as they beamed at each other excitedly. He raised an eyebrow at them, not really understanding how Nora didn’t have a chance to let him in on hers and Sarah’s friendship. It’s not like they’d been living under the same roof all this time, was it.. She couldn’t have had much more chance if she’d wanted.
”Wow. Right” he said finally, lowering his eyebrow and sitting down quietly. This was all a little weird. They weren’t supposed to know each other already- this was meant to be the big introduction. Dylan looked almost a little crestfallen that his plans had somewhat landed on their arse. He was kind of expecting polite talk between them but now the girls would probably end up discussing his filthy habits or gossip of an equal cringey fashion that girls likes to discuss about boys. He felt almost a little ganged up on with his sister and girlfriend so chummy. He also knew now if he pissed either off he would be getting it in the neck from the other.
The whole surprise of this development had made Dylan overlook all the things which had been said about him and thus he didn’t reply to Sarah’s remark about how much she liked him just yet. He kind of snapped out of his daydream when food was mentioned and nodded as he took a menu, pausing to look up at them both. ”So this wasn’t really what I expected” he said with a little confusion in his voice, ”But I guess this is cool, as long as you two don’t get all gossipy and start discussing all your girl stuff. If so, I’m leaving.” he said matter of factly, although raising a small smile to imply the jokey nature of it. [/blockquote]
