stuffing things into a duffel bag, serenity let out a huge sigh. she was going to have a girls night with her sisters tonight, something they hadn't done in a fairly long time, however she couldn't find her favorite pair of duck pajamas, that she only let family see her in. sometimes on occasion she was caught in them, running out to get the mail, or running to the store for her mom real quick. it was likely for teenagers to be caught in these types of outfits, but everytime she was caught, she seemed to get embarrassed over it. it may have been the fact that serenity was mature for her age, but she wasn't mature enough to the point where she didn't enjoy being a teenager.

after finally finding her pajama pants, she made her way over to her sister's house. at the house, her and her sister's, annika and aj would have a makeover, and serenity was a little nervous. she wasn't the type of girl to wear makeup, ever. sometimes she wore a little mascara here and there, but for the most part, she stayed away from it. a lot of it was the fact that the young girl had no idea how to put it on, and she was way too embarrassed to ask her sisters how to do it. she didn't think they would laugh at her, but the thought of being laughed at refrained her from asking.

walking to her sisters house, she looked at the scenery along the way, wishing that soon she would turn sixteen and be able to drive. making her way up to her sister's apartment, she turned the handle to her place, and walked in. "i'm here," she called out, with a smile. she made her way over to her sisters kitchen, pulling a soda out of the fridge taking a long sip, almost drinking the whole can. the feeling of the cold drink down her throat felt relaxing and soothing. after grabbing her drink, she flopped down on her sister's couch, waiting for the fun night to begin at last.

AJ was excited, it seemed like ages since her and the girls had just had a girl’s night, AJ was busy trying to achieve her dream, Serenity was busy being a teen and Annika was well, busy being pregnant. It was nice that they were getting to meet at AJ’s apartment, she just felt more at home as it meant that her dad wasn’t scrutinizing what she ate or how small she was, her sisters wouldn’t dare mention it. AJ tried not to eat but she decided that when the girls were here she was going to have to, she couldn’t get through a whole sleepover without eating anything. The thought scared her though, she was happy to eat healthy food but sleepover food was notoriously fatty and sugary, the type of food that AJ avoided at all costs. She was going to have to deal with it but she already planned on spending the following days in gym, burning it all off.

She smiled as she heard the door open and her youngest sister shout her arrival. AJ was used to her sisters just entering her apartment without waiting for someone to let them in, it was pretty much their second home and she liked it that way, she loved her sisters and so her home should really be their home. She could tell it was Serenity from her voice and she listened as the girl went into the kitchen to get a drink. AJ had set up three mattresses in her living room so that it was really like an old school sleepover, she was excited. She walked into the living room seeing her sister in the living room sat on the couch drinking her water, she was very at home. “make yourself at home S” she said sarcastically, knowing the girl had already done just that. “Do you know when Anni is getting here?” she asked, it was weird, the girls lived in the same house but it was unlikely that S would know the answer, AJ didn’t know if Anni was still avoiding their dad.

AJ laid herself down on one of the mattresses looking up at her youngest sister, “so what did you have planned for this makeover evening then?” she asked as Serenity had been the one to suggest the event. AJ adored makeup, she kind of had too because the dream she had involved quite a lot of it, appearance was everything to the girl so a makeover night was the perfect situation for her. Growing up AJ had loved doing her sisters hair, her Dad had never been good at doing their hair and when their mother left AJ became chief hairdresser. She learnt to do French braids, fishtail braids and other interesting hairstyles. AJ also enjoyed painting her nails, some people thought she was crazy when she opened the box that contained her nail varnishes but AJ loved it, she tried to try something new every time she did her nails, it was a different colour combination or a different pattern.
