MAHKENZIE LEE GARLAND! A warm summer's sun beat down on Kenzie as she strolled forth. A warm breeze tickled across her sun touched skin as Bowser bounded along happily at her feet. Her golden hair whipped slightly back over her shoulder as she took her seat on the park bench. She knew eventually she was going to half to get her exercise in, but right then her surroundings were too beautiful to not sit down and admire it. She sighed as she watched Bowser attack a harmless daisey, laughing slightly as she reached down and rubbed his back. A soft smile placed itself on her lips as she glanced around. The man made pond's water glistened and gleamed, and the duck swam happilly; chasing down the bread crumbs an old couple was throwing to them. It was a beautiful day, but her mind flashed quickly to the dark side of things.
A year ago, actually to the day, Kenzie was back in Texas. It had been a warm day out, and all she wanted to do was go to the local swimming hole with her boyfriend, and all her friends. She was supposed to go get her brother from school and walk him home. But Kenzie was young, and what she wanted was always going to come first. So her brother made his last treck towards home, when a drunk driver lost control and struck him, and two other small children who walked in his path. Nothing had ever been the same since that day. Her mother and father divorced, and she had never heard from her mother again. She felt as though Kenz was to blame. And Kenz felt the same, if she had been there; maybe she could have saved them. Ah, but the past was the past. But she would never forget.
Kenzie, herself, had been in many riding wrecks. She was, how do you say, accident prone? Which was exactly what this girl was. From riding at the young age of three, she had horses flipping over on her, kicks, bites, tramples, falls, and many; many broken bones including her hack once. Yet she was resiliant, and she was doing well from the injuries she had for such a young age. As a matter of fact, you would never be able to tell that she had the accident, unless you saw her with her clothes off. Which, might be one of the reasons she never had taken her clothes off for a man, and as for swimming, she did that at her own personal home where no one could see her.
One may ask what she was hiding. Well, when she had broken her back from a young Quarter horse stud colt she was breaking flipping over on her; she had had to have amny surgeries to fix the wrongs. Thus leaving one horrid scar that ran about four inches down her back. Many wouldn't have even noticed it because it had healed so well, but Kenzie knew it was there. And she was self conscious over it. Girls around here, especially, didn't have scars. They were all perfect looking with their perfect hair, perfect skin, and perfect bodies. Kenzie felt so out of place with them. Even the flip flops on her feet felt wrong, but she thought she would give them one shot; but one shot only. She was craving her boots.
Kenzie was different from most girls around here. She was eighteen and stripper. Though she would never tell anyone that ever. She was good at keeping her secret, and it was relatively the only secret she had beside that scar on her. But, believe it or not Kenzie was a virgin. Yes, she was a virgin stripper. As stated before, the girl was just different from others. In her mind, she knew it would make more sense to wait for a guy who really deserved her, than to just spred her legs for every guy who tried to smooth talk her, and she got a lot of that at the bar. She had been raised to be very christian, and she knew the commandments. She also knew what happened if you broke them. Now, she was not saying that she had never broken them before, and that she wouldn't in the future, she was just saying she was not about to do it now.
Kenzie sighed as her mind swapped to Jason... She liked him, that was no secret of hers for sure. However, she knew their relationship was wearing thin. He wanted to be in her bed, and she knew this. However, she had not allowed it. Not yet anyways. She didn't want their friendship ruined, and at this point in time she did not want to find out if she was the kind of girl that would get clingy and psycho once she had slept with a man. Plus, she knew for sure he did not truly have that kind of interest in her, or at least she didn't think he did. They had known each other for quite some time, and it he had been easy for her to figure out. He didn't like commitment. She preferred commitment. She just knew that she did like the fact he had no idea what she was. She knew that if he ever found out he would be nothing less than irate... So thus leading to her keeping all this from him. Sneaky; yes. Risky; totally.

[img src=" Jason jogged through the park, his Ipod in his sweat pants pocket and headphones stuck in his ears, music on full. He went for a jog almost every day, it was his time to relax and forget his problems at work or family, just for a little while. He had thought of going to the beach and surf, but as fall came around the water cooled, and Jason wasn’t in the mood to be chilled, if anything he liked the sweat and hot pain that came to his side after running too much. Jason jogged down the road and turned into the park, shedding his sweaty t-shirt as he did. He walked over to a water fountain and splashed some water on his face and dried himself off with his t-shirt, man did it feel good to get out of the house.
Jason walked to catch his breath for a minute or to, taking in the scenery of the park. As an elderly couple throws bread crumbs to ducks, noticing the loving and kind looks they gave each other. They had obviously been together for quite some time, and how ever long there love was still young. Jason rubbed the back of his head, thinking. He had never been in love but once, and that had ended badly. The bitch had cheated, lied, and stole from him, all while making him think he was in love. This was a year ago, and he refused to fall back in love. He was afraid honestly, his heart had been broken, stomped on, and raked with such a horrible sneer he didn’t want to try and fix it, besides he almost liked sleeping around.
Shaking his head to get rid of the thoughts, Jason began to jog again, maybe for about a minute, when he spotted Kenzie, a friend of his. He had met her for a while, and enjoyed her company. He had been giving signals that he wouldn’t mind spending a night with her, he thought she was cooler than the other girls that he went to college with, and she was very attractive. Jason had been wondering if his insinuating he would like to sleep with her would ruin their friendship, and hoped not. She was a great friend, why should his wanting to sleep with her get in the way of that? He couldn’t help it though, he found that it was obvious she wouldn’t have sex with him, and he wasn’t used to that, being rejected.
Jason was willing to forget this and just talk, it was a beautiful day, and he wanted to possibly spend it talking to a beautiful girl he liked. Jason turned of the music and smiled a charming smile as he approached her “Hey Kenzie” he said, thankfully he wasn’t panting, he had caught his breath a few moments before he spotted the pretty blonde. He sat on the bench with her was relieved he didn’t smell bad and had cleaned up just moments before. He chuckled as he saw Browser, he liked the dog, though the last visit he had with him had involved a lot of slobber and a laughing Jason. “Whats doing?” Jason said to Kenzie, looking up from Browser and running a hand through his blonde, spiky hair.

Kenzie sat happily on the park bench, admiring the older couple for a few more seconds before she looked down at Bowser who bounced around; now chasing a grass hopper before he came to the end of his leash. Kenzie laughed when he looked puzzled by the jolting stop. Sometimes she wished she had as much energy as this small dog did. She had adopted the little thing from the humane society about a year ago, and ever since he had kept her life full of entertainment. Bowser had more energy than most dogs she knew, but she enjoyed it. If she had his energy she would have already been walking her two miles by now; but instead there she sat on the park bench, doing nothing. Procrastinating her daily walk with Bowser.
Kenzie was avid about doing her work outs. First at home she would do fifty push ups, and fifty crunches, then she would set off for her two mile walk. Doing what she did for work, it made more sense to be in shape if anything were to go wrong one night. It would be insane to say her line of work was safe, because it was not. It was possible she was always in the presence of a potential rapist, murderer, or god only knew what else. So she kept in shape so she could at least try to ward off any assailent she may come into contact with one night after work. She was in good shape. Slender frame, toned muscles, and a lower body weight. However, she still looked healthy. She was not anorexic, or anything like that. Just slim.
Kenzie was slightly lost in thought when she was pulled back to reality by a familiar voice. Looking up, she felt as if her jaw would jop, but she kept it together. God, help her to keep it in her jeans. He was absolutely gorgeous fully clothed, but now he was without a shirt and she almost felt her temperature rising. Something about this guy just got her going. She knew she had a crush on him... well... and infatuation more like. But anyways, he was right in front of her and she needed not make herself look like an idiot by staring at his lovely muscles. He took a seat next to her and she adjusted slightly turning slightly towards him, so they could conversate much easier. Bowser quickly found his way to Jason lapping at him playfully. Bowser liked Jason about as much as she did. Which made him even harder to resist. Dear lord.
Kenzie smiled at him warmly, the features on her face lighting up. "Hey Jason." she greeted him warmly. She hadn't seem him in a few days and was relatively happy to have his company. Plus it meant she could put off her walk for a bit longer. Graciously, he was a little more important. She sighed slightly at she heard him ask what she was up to. "Well I was procrastinating my walk. But now I have a reason to put it off, so I feel much better now." she joked lightly with him. She knew he wanted more than just a platonic friendship from her, and she knew it was puzzling to him for her to reject him. Men as good looking as he was normally did not get rejected. But she found it endearing that he had not pushed her for anything. SHe liked the fact that despite the obvious, he had still taken the time to come and talk to her.

Jason liked Kenzie, no doubt bout that, she was extremely attractive, she had a great body, and he admired her golden waves, she was just so damn cute, he almost couldn’t stand it. Jason hadn’t really been spoiled, but when he wanted something he became determined, and had part time jobs throughout most of high school to help pay off for things he felt would be too much to ask his siblings, or parents. He was a hard working guy, hardly a mooch, if he ever asked for money or just help, it was important.
Jason hadn’t seen Kenzie in a while and was somewhat happy to see she didn’t have a guy walking around with her, Jason was also a jealous guy, and even though she wouldn’t have him, he was still protective of her, like he was his own sister. Though she could very well have a boyfriend, the thought made Jason’s mood darken. If Kenzie wasn’t sitting right next to him he would shake off the thought, but he didn’t want to give away these feelings. What was he thinking? If you want some, he thought himself, then go to the bar, jeez. He knew he should just throw away every thought of being protective of Kenzie, it would make things easier for him.
Jason leaned back on the bench and put his, now damp, shirt over his shoulder while Bowser sniffed happily at his sneakers and licked his sweatpants, Jason chuckled “Pleased to please ya, I could walk with you” he smiled “Make it a bit more interesting.” Jason liked to go out for a walks, if he could he walked wherever he went. He looked at Kenzie with a soft smile, he chatted with her.He knew it would be a waste of his breath to hit on her, the saddest part was that he didn’t like her just for her good looks, she was a great friend, but he wasn’t ready for commitment. No matter how much he liked her, he couldn’t make himself go through the heartache again, he had to many things on his plate for all that.
Jason didn’t think Kenzie would be anything like his ex, but he felt completely lost when it came to relationships. He wanted to sigh, how could just being near this woman stir up so many emotions for him? It was frustrating, honestly. He was definitely going to have to go to the bar tonight, just to remind himself who he was........

Truth be told, Kenzie had not been much for relationships lately either. Ever since Colton, then Travis had passed she had not been too keen on the dating thing. She had a lot of guy friends, and most of them wanted more from her, but she had yet to really give in to it. Her brother had been killed because she was off with her boyfriend, and had not gone to get him off the bus. She should have, maybe she could have saved him, but she didn't. Then only a few months later Travis, her boyfriend, had been killed in a Rodeo accident, on a bull he should have been able to ride just fine. Relationships had not really been going good for her lately, so she was just staying away from them all together for a while. At least, until she knew she could trust someone enough to know they were worth her while.
Jason was a nice enough guy, for sure, but still; she didn't want anything pushed. They were friends, and she liked that. He was one of the closer friends she had made since moving here. And he helped her forget about the friends she missed, her brother, and her job. Course, Jason did not know anything about that stuff. He had never asked, and of course she had not told either. Her past, and bits of her present were nothing she avidly spoke about. It only brought out bad feelings, and memories. Though, she knew if she ever felt the need to talk about any of it, he would listen. So far all the things she had needed to talk about; he was the guy she told. He listened well, and if he was judging her on it, he didn't show it at all. Which pleased her well.
To be truthful, Kenzie was releived that he didn't have some other beautiful blonde with him. She wasn't really the type to get territorial, but she knew she would get jealous. Or maybe you could put it as protective... No, it would be jealous. She liked him, there wasn't a doubt in her mind about that, but she just wasn't ready, and for some odd feeling she thought he was not ready either. He seemed kind of distant about relationships, but of course, she had never asked. Kenzie was just big on manners, and she didn't pry about things. She only wanted to know things, that people wanted to tell her. She had never been the kind to push things out of people, instead she waited. She knew it was only a matter of time before they talked about it, and if they didn't; well it was really no big deal then.
Kenzie smiled as he offered to walk with her. Well, apparently she wasn't going to get to put off her walk any longer than she already had. With him with her, she figured it would be much more fun anyways, and not so much of a chore. "Well, you do know how to please." instantly Kenzie's face flushed red with her comment. She had meant it differently than it had come out. But she figured both inuendos of the comment where perfectly correct. He was pleasing on the eyes, pleasing as a friend, and more than likely pleasing in the bed, course she wouldn't know for sure. Kenzie rose from her seat on the bench, brushing off her short jean shorts and adjusting her plain pink tank top. She knew she was flushed beyond repair so she simply looking down at her clothes. A comment like that was not like Kenzie at all, and she happened to catch herself off guard with that one.
Bowser leapt up from Jason's feet rushing to Kenzie, panting happily. He loved their walks, she on the other hand hated them. At least she had company for this one, that is if she hadn't scared him off with her stupid comment. "It will surely be more fun with a walking buddy. But don't expect me to jog, I am not that in shape." she joked lightly with him, to try and recover. She studied him with her ocean blue eyes for a moment. Damn it Kenzie....

Jason chuckled, she didn’t know the half of it. He wasn’t the one to go around bragging about his skills in bed, but he had heard before about it. As she stood up he did as well, rising to his full height, which was a couple inches taller than Kenzie. Now that the water from the fountain had dried on his shirt, he pulled it back on, it was a bit wrinkly, but at least it didn’t smell bad. His legs only felt a little sore from running, and he smiled at Kenzie “You look in shape” he said without thinking, he wanted to slap his hand to his forehead, what happened to no flirting? He dismissed it quickly though, he wasn’t flirting, just complementing.
It was late in the afternoon now and there was a light breeze, which he noticed had lightly played with Kenzies hair. He absolutely loved this time of day, and was glad to have Kenzie to enjoy it with. “So, where did you come from? Not many people born here sound so southern” he asked, he didn’t like to pry into other people’s lives, and hoped for the same thing in return, but he had chosen the question because he felt like it wouldn’t be too personal. He didn’t exactly know if Kenzie was the type of person to become very emotional when their past is brought up, and didn’t want to find out by making her upset. There were something’s he wasn’t too willing to share, but no way was he going to think of that now.
Jason had always lived in Lipton, and didn’t really have an accent, and if he did he didn’t realize it. His voice was deep, not way to deep. He liked Kenzies voice, it fitted her so well, sweet and cute. As they walked the sun shone through the trees, casting sunlight in sections on the sidewalk and made the leafs, though still green, look like oranges and reds. Browser trotted along happily, most likely enjoying the nice weather as well. Jason walked with his hands in his sweatpants pockets, the headphones that were still attached to hi Ipod hanging out of his pocket and hitting his leg as he walked. He walked beside Kenzie, close but giving her a bit of space all the same. As a breeze blew from her side he smelt her shampoo and sighed as the wind was still blowing, so she couldn’t hear.
He wanted to laugh at himself, he was usually smooth with most women, but Kenzie made him feel sixteen again, which he found pathetic since he knew those types of feelings would only bite him on the ass eventually, he had learned once, he didn’t need to be taught again. For a second his thoughts drifted to Daniela, the girl that had betrayed him and made him untrusting when it came to almost any kind of relationship. For years he had been with her, since he was seventeen, and had once thought of getting completely serious with her. He would most likely still be dating her if she hadn’t hurt him, which was sad because if they were still together then she would still be stealing from him. Jason had thought about reporting her, just to get back, but he couldn’t. No, he didn’t love her anymore, but he still thought of the love he once felt, and that was enough for him to do nothing and just forget.
“You were never anything to me! I was just using you the whole time, your an idiot for not seeing that. You may be a ‘nice’ guy and all, but you’re nothing to me!” She snorted at him, and Jason asked the stupidest question “Did you ever love me?” Daniela laughed wickedly before saying “Of course not! Your loaded, Im broke, what else could I want? Love? Ha!” after putting him down some more, she dumped him, and he thankfully never had to see her again. Jason blinked and snapped out of it, making sure Kenzie didn’t see his mood shift, he was all sorts of emotional today, jumping from one feeling to the next, he sure as hell didn’t like it.

A soft sigh fell from Kenzie's lips as she slowly recovered from her comment on his pleasing skills. She herself had obviously never been told either way. They said she was a good kisser, but that was about all she knew, for that was about the most she had done. Course, Kenzie was quite happy about how far she had gone to date. It left her nothing to regret, and nothing to worry about. If there was one thing that could be known about Kenzie, it was that she worried about small things. She allowed little things to slowly eat at her till she finally had to adress the issue she was having. Obviously this was not a desirable way to cope with things, but unfortunetly that was exactly the way she coped with it. Course, she still ahd not truly coped with the Deaths of Colton and Travis, but she was working on it. Slowly. Ever so slowly.
Kenzie watched as he rose, putting his once dried shirt back on. Oh, oh no, no you don't need to put that back on. she thought mischeiviously. Even though the thought almost made her blush, she kept it together. Though that all flew out the window with his complementing her. Her cheeks flushed slightly and she smiled up at him. Jason was a few inches taller than her. Course, it was not hard to be taller than kenzie since she only stood a mere five foot two inches. She couldn't help but admire his physique. He was very easy on the eyes, but she kept her mind mostly clean. "Well thanks, Jason. You too." she smiled at him warmly, making eye contact only for a breif moment, before she looked down at the ground. Blushing all over again.
It had been a while since someone had made her feel so happy. Honestly, she had missed him that little while that she had not seen or heard from him. She made a mental note that when they parted for the night she would be sure to give him her number. She had forgotten the last time, but she was hoping she would not forget this time. Jason's company truly was the high light of the day. Before he had showed up, she was sure she was going to cut her two mile walk into a half mile walk, and head home to read a good book, and give Bowser a bath. But now, now she was going to surely walk her full two miles before she turned and headed home. Truth was, she wanted to invite him over, but for the first time; Kenzie was not sure she could resist the temptation. Not good.
Kenzie laughed a little when he asked her where she had come from. "Well golly gee. I thought I had hid it so well." she let her drawl come on full stride with that comment, of course she was not being rude, simply joking. Kenzie laughed softly again. "I actually grew up in Hope, Texas. It's about a mile out of Dallas. But I've been all over the south... What about you?" she asked curiously. She wasn't prying, and she hoped he knew he didn't have to answer if he didn't want to, but she looked at him inquisitively as she stumbled slightly. Bowser, nipping at her shoe laces. Kenzie chuckled slightly at the dog, but paid attention to Jason as well. She didn't want him to feel like she was ignoring him. So she bent over, quickly picking the small dog up, and tucking him under her arm. When he picked at her shoe laces it normally meant he no longer needed to walk. What a spoiled little dog.
"Please, please. Quiet the crowd. We need silence!" she announcer at the Rodeo called to the crowd. Travis laid, still in the middle of the arena; and instantly Kenzie's heart dropped. She knew what was coming. The medics were straining, working hard on him. Yet, they stopped. Carrying him quickly out of the ring, Kenzie had found herself running her way down to the rider's room. He was there. And Kenzie asked them "Is he okay?" tears were streaming down her now pale cheeks. They apologized and instantly Kenzie had collapsed to the dirt, crying uncontrollably. He was gone. The only thing she had had left that meant something... was gone. All he had done was fall off, at the wrong angle on his head. And it was done. She had always begged Travis to stop. But in the cowboy way, Rodeoing held a spell over him. Kenzie snapped back to reality as Jason spoke to her, and she was happy the thoughts were gone. Kenzie now focused her attention on him, she needed her mind kept off of Travis and the past; and on the present. Present being Jason.

Jason smiled widely, amused by her answer. Hope, he felt as if that was a bit suiting, since for an odd reason that’s what he felt around her, even though he would never admit it. “I’ve always lived here in Lipton” he answered honestly, he and his three siblings were born an raised, he had vacationed a bit in different states, but not much besides that. Lipton was his home. whether he liked it or not, and was glad to say he did, or at least because he didn’t really know of any better places to call home.
As they walked the urge to get more personal in their conversation was a great one, for he wanted to know Kenzie better, he wanted to be someone she could tell anything to. They were good friends and were comfortable around each other, even in just a comfortable silence, but he knew there wasn’t a lot they talked about. The urge to say what was on his mind pulled at him, but he didn’t want to make her feel awkward or upset, but also wasn’t sure if he was willing to risk it. He knew how difficult it can be to talk to someone on more personal matters, but he so badly wanted to be the person were it would be easy for her to talk to.
He finally gave in to his urges and stopped in front of Kenzie, not knowing what to say and how to say it. What was about this girl that made him so nervous, such a wimp? He decided to not say anything, and pulled his friend into his arms, something totally not expected and he wondered if she would push him away. She was so tiny in his arms, and she smelled so good, he never wanted to let go. He knew what he was feeling, a feeling he had put off for a long time, because he was a coward. He hadn’t felt this way even with Daniela, a girl he had given everything and had eventually been fucked up by it
“Kenzie” he said softly, almost letting the three most daring words slip out, but keeping them back no matter how much he wanted to “How is it that, a girl, a girl I don’t know much about, makes me feel so nervous, so…..” he let his words drift off, afraid he might say it. He knew she must think he was weird, and they were probably going to be awkward for the rest of the day, maybe longer, but at this point the didn’t care if she shoved him away, he needed to let the words, the feelings, he had been holding in for so long just come out. Ya, it may seem random to her, but she was all he thought about. Even when they first met, he had admired her, wanted to be with her.
Suddenly the feeling of rejection over came him, he hadn’t been rejected yet, but he just knew it was coming, he pulled away so he could look into Kenzies striking blue eyes and braced himself, for what he knew must be coming. He hadn’t asked her out or said those precious three words he hadn’t spoken in awhile, but he felt if she didn’t even want his hugs then what would make her want him? He had tried to hug his ex, but she just pushed him away and took his money, he was such a fool for letting his feelings take over, again.

Kenzie sauntered along as the wind whipped gently at her hair. Fall was coming, and the smells of it were relaxing. It was getting more and more cool out, and she could feel chill bumps considering their rise on her skin, but they held off thankfully. So shorts were a bad idea. But it was not like she could change them now, she was already out of the house, and working on her walk. Beside, the exercise would eventually warm her up. She sighed softly, as she enjoyed the walk. Though the leaves were still green, the sun was turning them fall colors, which she loved. Kenzie was a fan of fall. The warm colors, the smells of it, and Thanksgiving. Who didn't like to stuff themselves with turkey, potato, and all other goodies of the holiday season.
Kenzie and Jason were good friends. Though they didn't really know much in depth about each other, they still seemed to just click pretty well. He was one of the few guys that she felt totally comfortable around. Even if they were not talking, just simply enjoying the companionship of one another. She couldn't help but admit he made her feel good again, almost like a school girl with a crush. But, then again, who wouldn't have a crush on him? He was a sweet guy with a great personality, then with the plus of his looks. He had never really pushed her for anything more than a friendship, which she liked. Even though she almost felt like she was not okay with just being platonic anymore either. Course, Kenzie was to shy to try and make a move, or start the conversation that could lead to more.
Kenzie looked up just as he was in front of her. She hoped he hadn't sensed she was thinking about something. But then his arms were around her, and he pulled her into a close hug. Kenzie sighed softly, putting her arms gently around him as he spoke to her. Asking why she made him so nervous. His hug was warm, and it made her feel protected. It had been a long time since Kenzie had felt protected. She normally had to take care of herself but in that hug, she felt like everything was going to be okay. She sighed again softly as he pulled away from her. He almost looked ashamed at his actions. However, they had not bothered her at all. She smiled at him, but he seemed caught up in his own thoughts, almost a worried expression crossed.
Kenzie smiled. "Well, I am glad I was not the only one who felt this way. Cause I was sure you didn't feel that way." Kenzie leaned forward and took him in another quick hug before pulling back. So this was definately complicating things. He knew nothing about her, nor anything about what she did to have the money she did. Course, she didn't want to tell him either. But she was sure more was going to come from this hug, and eventually she would have to tell him what it was that she was hiding from everyone around her. If this did go father, like she had the feeling it would, she would have to tell him. And instantly that scared her. She didn't know how he would react to something like that. It was not like she was in an honest line of work. She was in a horrible line of work. But Kenzie pushed those thoughts from her mind as she watched Jason, evaluating him, and trying to figure out what was coming next. She felt like there might be something coming, but only time would tell.

Jason was almost relieved she didn’t push him away, and instead wrapped her arms around him. He was shocked she even hugged him again, her had expected everything to go downhill from the second he touched her. He had to resist smiling in even more relief as she said she felt the same, he had thought she was completely un interested. The usual Jason would have been more excited that he could finally break down yet another women’s wall, but he wasn’t being his usual self. He actually cared about Kenzie, and instead of caring solely on getting her in bed he wanted her actually in his life, something completely odd for him. He thought that he had pushed his feelings down, had refused many relationships in fear of being hurt again but now he didn’t care, if he could have Kenzie in his life, even for just a short time, he would risk the heartache all over again.
He looked into her blue eyes, not aware that he should be saying something, anything. He pulled her close again and kissed the top of her head, closing his eyes and sighing “I care a lot about you Kenzie” he took her hand in his, focusing on her slender fingers rather than her eyes, honestly scared of what her reaction will be, he wanted to so badly kiss her or even tell her how he really, truly felt, but he didn’t want to rush things and it took a lot of effort to not doing anything that may scare her away, he didn’t know how he could do that exactly but he didn’t know her history with relationships, which was just more reason to get to know her better.
“I would be willing to risk having my heart broken for you” he murmured, she didn’t know of his past relationship and the statement may not make too much sense to her, but it was a lot to say for him “Would it be too much to ask, if I asked we go to dinner Friday?” he said, smiling a small side smile. He hadn’t actually had a real date the past year, and forgot what it was like. He would take Daniela to dinner and to the movies, and for a while it had seems like they were having a good time. For all he knew, his ex could have been, it’s not like she ever had to pay. Jason didn’t think Kenzie would mooch off him, the time he knew her she could tell she was too good for that, but yet again no one is ever what they seem to be.
People usually believed Jason was a player because he was immature, still stuck in his high school days and not coming out of it soon. Jason had no idea if they would still think he was immature if they knew the real reason he only accepted one night stands. Probably not, people were supposed to move on from these types of things, right? He found that hard to do, and he thought by just forgetting about that kind of love he would be saving himself the trouble, but looking at Kenzie, he didn’t think being in a more committed relationship was a waste of time. If she gave him the chance, he wanted to tell her his past and make sure she knew he wasn't just some immature guy that couldn't commit to a relationship only after he knew she wouldn't use him like Daniela
