- - - - - - - - - - - - a party. that was what faith was getting for at the moment, and she had no idea why. faith and party just didn't go together. it wasn't even humane to put them in the same sentence. faith was a shy and quiet girl until you got to know her, but even then she was still a good girl. partying wasn't something that was meant for her, and honestly she had no idea why she was even putting herself through this. ruffling her hair softly with her hands, she looked around her vanity, looking for some mascara. there was no way she was going to show up at a party looking like rubbish, the least she could do was get dressed nicely, and do her makeup so that she looked pretty. she hoenstly had no one to impress but herself. faith had her eyes set on teddy, who had told her the other day that he was into her, so worrying about her looks was seemingly pointless. teddy liked her no matter what she looked like.
tumbling around her room, faith looked around, trying to find the shirt that she had laid out to wear tonight, but unfortunately, not having any luck finding it. mumbling a curse word under her breath, she made her way to her closet determined to find something else that would match her jeans. standing in just her jeans and bra, she rummaged through her closet, until she found a cute shirt that she had only bought weeks ago. smiling, she threw it on over her bra, glad that it fit her body well. being such a slim and petite girl, it was hard for her to find clothes to fit her body well. curves was something that faith longed for. biting her lip gently, she kneeled down on her knees, searching through her shoes. flats or heels? flats would generally make herself comfortable, but heels could make her look good, and draw attention. faith didn't like much attention, so she settled on a pale pink pair of flats, her favorite pair. walking back over to her mirror, she smiled in success. she looked good, but it didn't look like she was trying too hard.
making her way out of the house, faith slipped her phone in her pocket, and some money along with it. you never knew what kind of trouble you could end up with at a party. for all she knew, her car could be smashed and she would have to find a taxi home. people at parties were insane, and she knew that anything was possible with drunks. she made her way out to her small car, one she had bought with money she had saved up for when she turned sixteen. it was a pretty nice car for a seventeen year old girl, but it was nothing like a new mercedes. it got her where she needed to go however, and she was thankful for that. yanking on the door of her car, she got in, and brought the car to life. pulling out of her driveway, she made her way down her road. earlier that day she had cleaned out the backseat of her car in case she had to take any drunk person home, if they were incapable of driving. faith knew that she wouldn't be drinking, if anything she was drinking soda.
humming along to a song on the radio, faith headed to the party, which was at a senior's house. she wasn't exactly sure whose house it was, but all she knew was that some people said it was going to be rad, and that she had to be there. again, faith thought this was a bad idea, but for some reason she was hitting the gas pedal. this night could totally end in disaster, or it could surprise her and end in a good way. perhaps she'd make a new friend? anything was always possible with faith. as she neared the party, butterflies were swarming around in faith's stomach, and she didn't know what to think of the sudden, and nervous feeling that was surrounding her. blinking softly, she debated on turning around, but she knew that if she went home she'd be upset with herself for not trying something new. so, because of her feelings, she continued.
reaching the party, faith made her way out of her car, and into the house. the air was already soaked with the smell of alcohol, sweat, and sex. the typical smell of a party, although faith had no idea about that. looking around, her eyes widened, she knew almost no one! there had to be people there from another school, since she had no clue who half of the people were. making her way over to a wall, she stood there, looking around, searching for anyone she knew. it was time to be a wall flower. there was no way faith was going to go crazy and obnoxious and start dancing around the party. that was not her cup of tea.

Already at the party, Kayla stood a little awkwardly at the drinks table, a paper cup of some toxic and sickly concoction already clutched tightly between her neatly manicured fingers. Although alcohol tended to cause Kayla to make a fool of herself, it seemed preferable to just standing here like a lemon all night, too shy to do anything. If Addie was here, things would be different. Her twin was like a social butterfly, floating around the room and dragging Kayla into conversation with everyone and anyone. Socialising was just so easy for Addie- she got on with things and was seemingly unafraid of screwing up, unlike Kayla. Kayla worried way too much- about what she did, what she said and what people thought of her and would never find chatting to complete strangers as easy as her sister. Addie was a bit of a comfort blanket at parties in all honesty, helping Kayla to chill out and meet new people more. But now her twin was out of action, alcohol had to become Kayla’s new buddy, however much that wasn’t really her thing.
Kayla took a sip of her drink, running a hand through her blonde waves and straightening out her dress before making a move towards the door to the kitchen. She tottered out confidently in her thigh skimming outfit and skyscraper heels, the sluttish get up always doing a good attempt at hiding her insecurities and getting a bit of well needed male attention. Despite the looks only being pervy stares from people who didn’t care for the actual girl within, they made Kayla feel just a little bit wanted for a few moments. And for the girl who constantly battled through feeling worthless and unloved, those few moments made all the difference. If anyone was to actually talk to Kayla though, they’d soon realise the ‘come get me’ exterior of short dress, push up bra and pouted out lips was hardly representative of the shy and clutzy young woman who got nervy at the mere idea of getting close to a guy. Unless she was drunk, when apparently all her inhibitions went out the window- if the Teddy incident was anything to go by.
A little dazed and wide eyed, Kayla looked around the room, trying to spot a familiar face in the sea of strangers. She pledged not to pounce on whoever she did find, cringing at the memories of throwing her herself and her drink at Teddy in a drunken whirl of excitement at finding someone she knew. Suddenly she spotted a girl leaning against the wall. Possibly Fallon.. or Faith. As a twin herself she knew how irritating it was to be confused but the two of them looked so alike it really was impossible to tell on looks alone. Judging by her body language though, it was doubtful that the girl was Fallon. Kayla didn’t know a huge amount about the girls but Addie had been best friends with Fallon for years and just like Addie, Fallon seemed a pretty outgoing kind of girl. Not the sort of person to be trying to blend in with the wall at a party. Kayla flashed the girl a smile and began to approach, assuming therefore that this must be Faith. Despite their twins being as close as sisters, these two had very little to do with each other. It was odd really, but then Kayla guessed there was no time like the present to begin to build a friendship ”Hey” she smiled ”You’re Fallon’s sister right?”. It was a lame start, and one which would have highly annoyed Kayla had it been the other way around. She’d lost count of the times she’d been referred to as ‘Addie’s sister’ and everytime it wound her up. It did little to boost your confidence when you’re seen as some accessory to the main star of the show, not even deserving of a name, just merely a title connected to your far superior sister. Kayla blushed a little at her faux pas ”Sorry, I mean you’re Faith right? I’m Kayla..” she corrected a little shyly.

- - - - - - - - - - - - faith wondered how people around could get drunk like there was no care in the world. growing up around party animals, faith had seen some pretty messed up things, mostly coming off of people who had drank before they ended up doing something they regretted. that was something that faith feared. regret. when she regretted something she often lay awake at night, thinking about how things could have been if she did something right. many people thought faith was a goody two shoes, or that she liked to act perfect. in other words, she just didn't like to show people her weakness' and she liked to always smile and act like nothing bothered her. it probably would have helped faith if she actually could trust the people around her, but there was only a select few people she trusted, and they usually ended up hurting her so she never trusted them again.
faith wondered what teddy was doing right now, since for some reason he was always running through her mind. they had just started being a couple, but she had never liked someone as much as she liked teddy. faith looked around the room, seeing a few guys look over her way. she was a very pretty girl, but since she didn't have her boobs or ass hanging everywhere, they didn't look interested. then there were a few guys who seemed to be looking her up and down, and they were making her very uncomfortable. blinking slightly, faith pushed her hair in front of her face, trying to hide a bit. there was nothing about this party that she seemed to be liking. there was no part inside her that wanted gross drunk guys to be checking her out. especially when she had a boyfriend, and they were the least bit attractive.
then a girl made her way over to faith, one that looked familiar. she was sure that the girl in front of her went to her school. and then she was welcomed by being asked if she was fallon's sister, and she slowly let out a sigh. it really irked her when people only knew her as being the sister to fallon, and not faith. many people pointed to her and whispered, asking her how fallon was, and faith just wanted to be known as who she was. but then the girl, kayla, quickly recovered herself by saying she was sorry, and then faith was fine. there really wasn't a need to be mad, when almost everyone knew her as fallon's sister. "yeah, i'm faith. hi kayla!" she smiled brightly, now happy that she had someone to talk to. then her mind quickly wandered over the topic of drinks. "do they have anything here to drink other than alcohol? i'm not really the drinking type.." she rambled, smiling up at kayla.

Almost as soon as the fateful words had tumbled out of her mouth, Kayla felt the tension encroach. She wasn’t surprised though, it was a stupid thing to say when she was in the best position to know how irritating it is to simply be known as somebody’s sister. Kayla had a handy knack of just opening her mouth and creating a sense of awkwardness though, this was hardly the first time and unfortunately wouldn’t be last time that she had to backtrack from something that she had said. Sadly these things stayed in Kayla’s mind for a long while and whilst normally the other person would forget whatever had been said or done within seconds, Kayla mulled it over for hours or days, beating herself up over how stupid she had been.
Luckily though her quick reactions seemed to save the introduction and Faith soon returned a genuine smile. Breathing a little sigh of relief, Kayla let herself relax a bit more and took a moment to look at the girl. She was gorgeous, clearly very naturally pretty as her beauty stood out even without a thick layer of fakery and sluttish get up. Unlike Kayla, who was beginning to feel a little more insecure standing here so made up. It was odd really how two girls who were both similarly not comfortable or confident in this situation dealt with it so differently. Whilst Faith dressed classily and tried to blend into the background, Kayla put on her best slut act and tried to make herself stand out and be noticed. Kayla pondered this for a while, thinking that Faith probably had the right idea. Girls like Faith were honest with their appearance, shy on the inside, shy on the outside. These sorts of girls attracted the good guys, guys who liked classy and cute girlfriends. Girls like Kayla were just confusing, an ‘up for it’ exterior which put off the nice guys and a horrifically shy and insecure personality within, which put off everyone else. Hence why Kayla didn’t have a boyfriend, just a guy who wanted her for sex without any of the heavy emotional stuff.
Realising she was now in a self pitying daydream, Kayla blinked suddenly and snapped back into the room. ”I don’t know to be honest” she smiled a little dimly, looking at her own drink ”I don’t even know what this is..” she added with a shrug, wrinkling her nose up a little. It was probably best not to know- drinks at house parties were all too frequently a vile mix of whatever was left in the alcohol cupboard when the parents went out. It was always strong and always disgusting but did the job in getting everybody suitably intoxicated. ”I can come with you to look if you want?” she suggested ”I don’t know if I even want this anymore”. Thinking about the contents had put Kayla off the drink a little and anyway, she felt that if Faith was happy to talk to her sober, Kayla could probably lay off the drink too.

- - - - - - - - - - - - faith looked over mikayla, taking in her get up. it seemed like she was trying to get noticed, or she just always dressed in ways that would attract attention. faith seeked attention, but she never wanted attention for being someone that she wasn't. if kayla was the type of girl to get made up and look nice for guys, that was up to her, but faith just wasn't that kind of girl. when she was around new people, faith was shy and quiet, since she didn't know if someone would like her or not. and she didn't want to say something stupid that would make someone hate her or not want to be around her. when someone disliked faith, she hated it. cause then she didn't know if people would make fun of her or bully her, although not many people were mean to her. since faith tried to be nice to everyone, people were generally nice to her. there wasn't one person that really irked faith and was really mean to her. and then there was fallon who protected faith over everything, and never let a single person hurt her, and faith was the same way. if she loved someone, she would stick up for them.
she peered around the room, looking over at drunk people making out, pretty sure that they weren't dating. stuff that like disgusted faith. faith really didn't understand how people could possibly do things like that, but maybe she was too goody goody. sometimes faith wished that she was more fun, and that she got out and did things, but she didn't. her sister told her multiple times that she needed to live life more, but looked where that landed her sister. she was pregnant at seventeen with her best friend's dad who was also her teacher. faith honestly didn't want that to happen. sure, she wanted to have kids but only when she knew the guy was the one, and that she was sure that some day she was going to marry them. when it came to boys, faith had always been really reserved. she wouldn't kiss or make out with a guy unless she really liked them, because she was afraid of leading guys on, since she didn't think that was fair.
blinking slightly, she looked at the drink in mikayla's hand, which kayla said she didn't even know what it was. in a way that worried faith, since there was all type of drinks out there that could ruin someone, but she was sure kayla was smart enough not to damage herself. "yes, i don't even know where they keep the drinks.. this is my first party," faith said honestly. she wasn't going to lie, and say she was a party animal, though she was sure kayla could sense that partying just wasn't faith's thing. faith looked once around the room she was in, quickly thinking about the fact that the drinks were probably sitting in the kitchen. mentally cursing herself, she smiled up at kayla.

Kayla felt herself squirm a little at Faith eying over her outfit. Faith looked so pretty and classy and Kayla felt herself just sinking into feeling completely like a slag. She wasn’t a slag in all fairness, Kayla had only ever been involved with two guys in her seventeen years which when compared to many girls their age, was really rather angelic. Compared to her pregnant twin sister, it was definitely angelic. Kayla was generally quite an innocent girl, even if her rather questionable casual relationship with Teddy went against that idea somewhat. Still, her outfit didn’t exactly portray innocent. Little did the partygoers know though that Kayla didn’t wear these clothes because she was confident, but because she was so painfully shy and insecure that flaunting her body seemed the easiest was to socially integrate and feel a little bit wanted. She smiled a little awkwardly at Faith, desperately worried about what the girl was thinking about her.
The party was hot and cramped, just like every house party ever was. Drunks throwing themselves at random people and getting up to things which they would never consider sober. Kayla had thought she’d never be one of those girls but her behaviour at the last party put that into question somewhat. She liked to think that the Teddy incident was maybe a one-off though and that she wasn’t turning into one of the girls who slept around each and every weekend. It was cheap and it was dirty and Kayla hoped that it wasn’t her.
She looked back at Faith when she spoke and gave a slight knowing smile. Being a junior and having never been to a party before would generally be seen as quite strange but Kayla wasn’t overly shocked. She’d only been to most of the parties she had because Addie had encouraged or dragged her, she normally wouldn’t go of her own accord. Faith probably felt somewhat the same. ”We’ll try the kitchen” she smiled, not one to mick take out of a stupid question. Kayla lightly took Faith’s hand to avoid separation on the way to the kitchen and walked with her towards the drinks table, sure they would find some sort of mixer to drink. As she took Faith off, Kayla suddenly wondered whether the girl had actually been waiting for someone. She may have been perched against the wall waiting for her date and now Kayla was awkwardly kidnapping her. The mere thought of that situation made Kayla cringe. ”God” she exclaimed, turning to her new friend ”You weren’t like waiting for your friend or boyfriend or something were you?” she asked a little nervously.

- - - - - - - - - - - - faith was never the type of girl to judge someone until she got to know them, but there were always first impressions. judging was not something faith liked to do, but at some points you just didn't control it. kayla actually looked quite fine compared to what other people were wearing, some people walking around in merely underwear, or less. faith had no intentions of walking upstairs, cause whatever was happening in the rooms was going to freak her out. faith was glad that kayla at least had a body to pull off the outfit that she was wearing. faith hated trying to pick outfits, because most of the time she just didn't have the curves. sometimes she felt like she had a guy like body, but her friends always told her that she had the perfect body. everyone had their insecurities.
looking around, faith grimaced. she was sure this was the last party that she would be attending, unless a family member or friend was throwing it. the thought that people were hooking up with people that they just met disgusted her. there was only one boy that faith wanted to do anything with, and she had been with him her whole life. faith forced a small smile. "i really only ever go anywhere like this with fallon.. i guess partying really isn't my thing," she sighed softly. faith followed kayla to the kitchen, really glad that she had ran into her. it would be really awkward standing there all night when everyone was creeping you out. besides, she didn't want some creep walking up to her and talking to her. at least this way she was safer.
faith made her way over to a cooler, looking in it, finding a can full of cola. success! she smiled and looked over at kayla. "oh no! teddy's busy tonight," she said, still smiling.

Kayla found herself smirking at Faith. If Fallon’s name was to be replaced with Adelaide’s in the words just spoken, that comment could have come directly from Kayla’s mouth. The girls sounded pretty similar in that respect, both a little unsure about the whole partying thing but nevertheless getting dragged out by their sisters to various drunken dos going on around Lipton. Kayla nodded, a knowing smile still fixed on her face. It was funny really how the two sets of twins seemed so similar in their differences.
Watching Faith strike luck in finding a completely non-alcoholic drink as they reached the kitchen, Kayla once more looked at her own glass, wondering what to do with it. Biting her lip for a few seconds to contemplate the situation, Kayla eventually decided to ditch the alcohol, placing it on the counter in front of her as Faith began to speak again. It was so nice to meet a girl who’s ideal night wasn’t to get so drunk she couldn’t remember the name of the random guy she woke up in bed with the next morning. Faith was a refreshing change to the hoards of sluts who Kayla normally came across at parties.
Hearting the girl’s next words though, Kayla wished she had kept her alcohol with her. She blinked a look of shocked confusion at Faith as she processed the words, the conversation quickly moving from gentle small talk to shocking revelations. ”Teddy’s busy tonight”. Kayla gulped, still staring at Faith a little wide eyed as she reached for her drink once more and took a long swig of it. Teddy? Her Teddy? Except he clearly wasn’t her Teddy, if he was with Faith instead. ”You and Teddy...” she began, trying to hold back the pain in her voice. ”You’re dating?”. No wonder Teddy hadn’t wanted to commit to Kayla if he was dating somebody as gorgeous as Faith. Kayla downed more of her drink, just wanting to disappear behind the glass. She hadn’t thought it was possible to feel much more insecure but looking at the stunningly beautiful girl who, from the sounds of it, was in a relationship with the guy Kayla adored, certainly managed to make her feel even more rubbish than normal.

- - - - - - - - - - - - faith took a sip of her soda, glad to feel refreshed. mostly, she was glad that there were drinks other than alcohol there, since if alcohol was the only drink, then she was going to go thirsty. faith would have rathered going thirsty than taking one sip of nasty bitter alcohol. faith's friends had told her that it burned throats, and others told her that it just tasted nasty. and then there was a few that actually liked the taste. faith solely had her opinion on reviews, and at the fact that she was biased to believe that nothing about it was good, not even the taste. when faith was younger she probably took a sip of her parents wine on accident, but it was nothing that she could remember.
as kayla took another sip of her drink, faith watched her carefully. and then she spoke with pain in her voice. kayla liked teddy? faith had no idea about this. "umm... yeah. i've been dating teddy for about a week." she commented, looking at kayla. now many thoughts were running through her head. did teddy and kayla have something going on that faith didn't know about? did he like someone else? teddy had been known to flirt around, but faith was sure he had stopped when they began dating. at least he promised her that he would stop. and it had seemed like teddy was changing a bit, settling down from his flirting ways. but was he going back to where he was before? "do you and teddy have something going on?" she asked, biting her lip nervously.
and then it clicked. there was more than one teddy in lipton, right? "teddy mccallister you're talking about, right?" faith took a long and drawn out breath. she honestly hoped that kayla and teddy didn't have anything going on.

The alcohol slid down Kayla’s throat slowly but her worries were enough to distract her mind from the strong, potent taste. Kayla could remember the first ever alcoholic drink she’d had. Having naively assumed whatever drink had been thrust in her face was a soft one, she was somewhat taken aback by the eyewatering alcohol content which made her want to gag right there and then. Still, she was eager to please and massively fearful of being rejected due to saying no to the drink and so carried on regardless, trying to distract her mind each time she had to swallow the awful concoction.
However much she disliked alcohol, at this point in time downing the damn drink seemed like the best option. At least getting completely wasted may block off this conversation and the fact she had been making small talk with the girlfriend of the guy she’d been screwing. One week Faith and Teddy had been dating, yet Kayla had only seen Teddy a few days ago. This was utterly cringeworthy but as much as she wanted to just run off and forget this awkward situation, Kayla kind of owed it to Faith to say something. The girl deserved to know after all that her new boyfriend had been sleeping around.
”Do you and Teddy have something going on?”. Kayla gulped and looked at Faith sadly and apologetically. It was hardly her fault; she didn’t know about Faith until this point, but she still felt awful. Kayla knew how it felt to be cheated, to feel your world come crashing down around you and the bitter taste of rejection and inferiority that’s left after the initial shock had passed. ”I’m sorry Faith” she said quietly, feeling her toes scrunch up in her shoes at the awkwardness of this conversation. ”I didn’t know..”
Teddy Mccallister? Kayla blinked as Faith continued. Teddy Mccallister. Christ. So blinded by paranoia, Kayla had automatically assumed that Faith was referring to Teddy Caplan. ”Oh..” Kayla managed, a little stuck for what to say now. She’d been within moments of telling Faith that she had been sleeping with her boyfriend and now she had to kind of backtrack into normal conversation again. ”I thought you meant... don’t worry” she blushed, taking another large sip of drink and then replacing it on the side. ”Sorry”

- - - - - - - - - - - - the thought of teddy potentially being with another girl, or having something go on with another girl was enough to make faith consider drinking. just for a brief second, she almost grabbed a drink off of the counter, but her brain quickly told her that it was a bad idea. faith had never drank before, and she honestly had no clue what it would possibly do to her body. especially when she was close to being really upset. faith let out a deep sigh, not sure what she was going to do when she went up to teddy, and had to tell him everything that happened at this party.
when mikayla said that she didn't know, faith almost began crying. how could teddy have been playing her, and she didn't know? faith was sure he had changed and only stuck with her. besides, her was over at her house almost every night. how could he have been sneaking around with another girl? faith bit her lip slightly, trying to stay calm. there was no way teddy could, or would have cheated on her, right? faith was sure of it. there had to be a mistake in there somewhere. and then mikayla was saying that she was thinking of someone else. "so you mean you're not with teddy?" she asked, letting out a small breath of relief. now faith was glad that she trusted teddy, instead of almost crying in the middle of a party. not like anyone was paying any attention to her right now, though.

Kayla watched as relief swept over the girl’s face. That had been so, so close and the fact Kayla had nearly told poor Faith falsely that she had been messing around with her boyfriend made her feel deeply uncomfortable. So uncomfortable in fact that the fight or flight instinct began to kick in. She wasn’t sure whether it was just because of what she had nearly told the girl, or whether it was that coupled with knowing that Faith did in fact have a happy and trusting relationship and she didn’t, but Kayla suddenly felt the need to get out of there.
”No, no no!” she almost pleaded, shaking her head wildly. ”I’m not with Teddy.. not your Teddy” she continued, feeling like she was suddenly burning up and blushing bright crimson. It seemed even more so now that Faith had everything that Kayla wanted in life. She was beautiful, classy and had a boyfriend who was faithful and loving. What did Kayla have? A cheap, slutty outfit and a guy who didn’t really give a hoot about her. ”I’m really sorry” she squeaked, brushing past Faith quickly to get into the garden. The cool air hit her face as a few salty tears began to fall. Tears of embarrassment, of shame, and of just a smidgen of jealousy. Way to screw up..again.

- - - - - - - - - - - - faith was so happy to hear that teddy wasn't with mikayla. at least, not her teddy. faith had fallen in love with her teddy, and she didn't want anyone else to have him. although, she did want mikayla to be with another teddy if that was who she liked. before faith could say anything else, mikayla was brushing by her and rushing outside to the garden. faith stood there for a moment not knowing what to do. should she go out there and see what was wrong, or should she let the girl be?
faith's caring nature took over her, and soon she was heading outside to the garden to see if mikayla was okay. after getting outside, and feeling the cool air against her skin, faith looked over at mikayla, keeping her distance at first. she didn't want the girl to be mad at her. but then she saw that she was crying, and faith had to say something. "mikayla," she began softly. "are you okay?" she added, looking at the girl.
ooc: sorry it's short. :3
