Robert woke up and fell off the bed. He didn't know where he was and was momentarily afraid, then he realized that he was at Jeremy's house. Of course he was at Jeremy's house, they were having a party, and Robbie had to be at the party. It was a decision made in a quick moment only 45 minutes ago, and people were starting to arrive, bringing either money, booze, or weed. Robbie didn't feel good, so he decided to go to sleep in Jeremy's mom's room for a bit. It helped, but he still didn't want to be here too much. But how would it look if he wasn't? Parties were Robbie's thing, he had to be there.
He patted down his pockets looking for his cigarettes, but to no avail. "Jay!" he yelled. "Where's my smokes!?" Jeremy was always stealing his cigarettes. He wasn't much good for anything except for his house. It was a nice place to chill.
When no one answered his scream, he walked out into the living room. His hair was a mess, looking a little more shaggy than usual. Less people were here than he had thought, but they were being exceptionally rowdy. Robert walked past everyone and went in the kitchen, but Jeremy wasn't in there. Not in the living room, dining room, or his bedroom either. He decided to walk outside and see if he could find the thief.

The party had started just over a half hour ago, and was just starting to get started. Adelaide watched as another group of five or six people pushed their way through the front doors. She'd been here for about fifteen minutes now, and had yet to see any of her party friends. But, she was here and was ready for a good time. As with every Friday night, the teenager made it a point to show up at all the parties. She hadn't been to this house before, though. It was pure chance that she had been getting ready to go out when the text crossed her phone with their address.
And now, here she was, swaying with the beat of the loud music. Her cell phone in one hand, and a glass of some fruity alcoholic mix in the other. Her eyes scanned the door, looking for someone she might now. In a few hours, it probably wouldn't matter if she knew anyone or not, sicne she fully intended to drink and party the night away. But, for the time being, it did matter a bit. Someone would be nice to hang out with.
The song changed now, and more people pulled in. The fancy living room was starting to get crowded, so Adelaide pushed her way through the newcomers, to head outside. Honestly, she hated this song, and a little fresh air would be good. She stepped outside, downing the rest of her drink and tossing the cup on the step. A few cups were already there to join it. By the end of the night, Addie was sure that many, many more cups would join them, so she didn't care. Someone would pick them up.
Adelaide stepped to the side, letting a few more people into the house as she took a deep breath. It hadn't been dark for long, the streetlights were just starting to kick in. But, all good parties seemed to be after dark. This one, from the looks of it, would be no exception.

Still a little dazed from his recent nap, Robbie looked back and forth around the room looking for Jeremy. "Hey man, have you seen Jay?" he asked a kid a little younger than him who he thought he had seen with Jeremy before. "Who the.. no." he responded. No need to be a dick. Robert thought to himself and continued walking through the room to go outside.
As he went down the small step from Jay's front room to porch he lost his footing in his still half-asleep march and fell face first into a girl's chest. "..the fuck." he muttered, while on the ground. He started to sit up to look at who the girl was, but only caught a glimpse of her before laying back down.
She was pretty enough at first glance, but Robert didn't catch too many details. "I'm sorry." he said, looking at the awning over the porch. "Didn't mean to, yeah."

Studying the faces of the incoming groups, Adelaide frowned. Still no sign of her partying friends. She felt like such a loser, standing there without any company. She almost wished that she had brought her sister along. But, Addie knew that they'd probably be separated before the night was out, only seeing each other in the morning when they both wanted the bathroom. She'd just have to go back inside and find herself some company. And another drink.
A drink, she decided, would be the first thing that she would find. Then, whatever company showed up, showed up. They would all know where to find her. She'd be back in the living room, dancing like crazy until she was either drunkenly fumlbing home or, a better oppritunity came up. That was her plan for tonight, and she vowed to stick with it.
Addie had just turned to start up the porch when she felt someone collide with it. Was a rather dark, and she really hadn't even seen him coming. But, Adelaide stumbled backwards, nearly landing in a bush. The bush was really the only thing that saved her from falling. She stumbled forward, half wondering what happened, and half annoyed. She wasn't drunk yet. And, until that point, people just needed to keep their hands off her.
"Shit." Cursing, the teen studied her dress. No tears, no marks, just startled. The boy apologized, and Addie rolled her eyes. She felt annoyed at this entire party. More and more people were coming, but it still didn't feel like a party spirit. Maybe because she had shown up alone. "Whatever. Just be more careful in the future." She shrugged, stepping forward slightly, only to fall over her own lop-sided heel. Another curse word, and the teen stumbled to the ground. She sighed in a rather frustrated manner, opting now to just sit there for a bit. She already looked like an idiot, why not just sit there?

Just as Robbie was about to get up and leave the girl to whatever it is she was doing before he had so clumsily fell into her, she tripped over her own heel and landed beside him. Just for a moment he was concerned, but then laughter engulfed him. He couldn't stop laughing to save his life. It wasn't loud, obnoxious laughing, but he couldn't stop it if he tried. The situation was somehow more than funny to him.
Robert stood up, and after nearly falling back over again (partially from standing up to quick and partially because he was laughing), he asked if the girl was okay and offered her his hand. He wasn't sure about whether or not she would take it or not.. she looked pretty pissed off, but there wasn't any hurt in trying to help.
"My bad." he said. He was done laughing now, but his smile didn't fade. Normally he would be annoyed at such things happening, but the combination of situational irony and being slap-happy didn't bode well. "For real, though.. are you okay?"

Laughter. Adelaide frowned as she heard this escape the boy beside her. Laughter, of all things? Adelaide was exceptionally annoyed now as she rolled her eyes. The laughter persisted, becoming rather obnoxious. She could feel people's eyes on them, probably quite the sight. People probably thought they were drunk already. Addie groaned inwardly. She needed a drink. This kid was just... weird. She sent him what she intended to be a death glare of sorts. If looks could kill, he would certainly be dead. But, in the darkness, it was hard to really tell if he got the message or not.
She assumed not, since the laughed still persisted. "Ugh." Addie scoffed, leaning forward to adjust her heel and check for any damage. She loved heels, but at the same time she hated them. It all just depended. Now, though, the boy climbed to his feet and Adelaide felt less hated toward her shoes and more toward him.
Okay, maybe not hatred, but she was annoyed. Why was he so freaking happy? It shocked her. She debated just snubbing him altogether. But, she decided against it since she was certain they'd see each other at some point during the night. It was a small house and when Addie got drunk, which she inevitably would, the house just seemed so much smaller. She didn't know a stranger, and she was sure that he'd remember her snubbing him when that time came. So, she took his hand, pulling herself up carefully. She steadied herself and let go, standing still for just a second.
She then wobbled from foot to foot, making sure everything was in check. She was fine, yes, so at his question, Adelaide sighed. "I'm fine." A bit colder than she had intended. Maybe it was just due to her overall bad mood? The entire reason she was at this party was due to her bad mood. "What about you?" A bit softer this time, and Adelaide forced a reassuring smile. She needed to be somewhat friendly. Maybe the nicer she was, the sooner they'd part ways and she could go get another drink? It was worth a shot.

"I'm fine."
The reply sounded cold and mean. He was thinking about saying goodbye, he didn't want to be around this buzzkill, but then she asked if he was okay and things started to look a little better. "I'm alright, just glad that you're okay." He said.
Robbie was determined to make this better. Now that the girl was standing up, he could see her a little better. It was still dark, but he could still tell that she was one of the prettiest girls at the party.
"I know you're probably pretty pissed right about now, but what do you say I make this up to you? Maybe a drink?" He asked, hopefully.

Was again the boy was just so... nice. Which, really, Adelaide was surprised by. She had come close to snubbing him just seconds before and, yet, here he was - friendly as ever. She shifted slightly, deciding that the right thing to do would be to just keep this short so that she could get back inside. She could just say 'thanks' and go the other way. No questions asked. But, that still didn't seem quite right. It was just a step above snubbing him.
So, she simply nodded, rather at a loss for words. At least he was okay. Between the two of them, it had been quite the incident. She was certain that no one would remember it by the time the night was over, though, so she comforted herself with that fact for the time being. Her mind began to shift back to the party inside. The drinks, the dancing, and the people. She felt rather awkward just standing here with this boy. But, she didn't exactly want to snub him and go back inside. He had showed concern for her; she needed to show a little concern for him, too.
However, at the mention of drinks, Adelaide finally gave a genuine smile. She needed a drink about now, so of course she'd take him up on the offer. "Yeah, a drink sounds perfect." The teen started for the stairs, pausing on the second one to turn back. It just dawned on her that she had no idea what his name was.
"I'm Adelaide. Addie, rather." She seemed to be in somewhat of a lighter mood now. She was ready to party, and, at least now, she had someone to party with. Or, at the very least, someone who was interested in going to get a drink with her.

Robbie nervously stopped smiling for a moment after he asked if she would like to go inside for a drink. But with her affirmation his a small half-smile appeared once again.
"I'm Adelaide. Addie, rather."
The girl, or Addie as she said her name was, seemed to be a little less sour than she was only a minute ago. Things were starting to look up, it seemed.
"My name's Robbie. A lot of my friends call me Smalltime, though." He paused. Most people thought that was dumb. "Either's fine." He cocked his head to side slightly, motioning toward the door and began to walk. "Nice to meet you, by the way, Addie. Let's see what they have to drink."
He walked into the house and continued toward the kitchen. There wasn't a lot of alcohol in there when he fell asleep, but he prayed to god there was now. Robbie wasn't big on beer, but he loved a nice shot of whiskey.
"What do you drink?" he asked.

Smalltime. Addie smirked lightly, holding back a giggle at his nickname. What a strange name. Though, she didn't have much room to talk. Addie might have been a normal name, but she had never considered Adelaide to be quite... normal. Her siblings both had normal names, Addie had just been the lucky one to get the strange name. Funny how that worked. "Robbie it is."
Addie followed the boy on up the stairs and into the kitchen. In the well-lit kitchen, she could have a much better look at him. She studied him for a few seconds, deciding that he looked to be around her age. And, he was fairly cute. She didn't remember seeing him before, but, if he went to parties very often, they had most likely crossed paths before.
She leaned up against the counter, trying to remember what it was she had drank the last time she came in here. Something fruity. She was partial to any type of fruit mix, but she wasn't picky by any means. Adelaide would drink whatever. So, considering this, she gave a small shrug. "Whatever you're having. Surprise me." She grinned, giving him a slightly flirty look before shifting on up on the counter. It was getting crowded in the house, and sitting on the counter meant she didn't have to move for people while she waited.

"Robbie it is."
Robbie smiled as she tried not to laugh at his nickname. He knew it was stupid, but it stuck.
The kitchen was stocked with drinks now, Jeremy had lived up to his promise. Robbie could almost forgive him for taking his cigarettes now. Almost. He did a quick scan around the kitchen to see if he could see him in the kitchen, but he was still nowhere to be found. The bastard was probably avoiding him on purpose.
Taking things from Robbie that are his makes him mad more than anything else. Whether it's material things, like his cigarettes, or things he claimed as his own, like girls, he would be ready to rip out your throat the moment he found out that you had taken it. And this was exactly how Jeremy made him feel right now. A scowl crossed his face for a moment before turning back to Addie.
Making an effort to smile and not let the thief get into his head, he started making their drinks. "If you can take it, fine by me." He grabbed a bottle of whiskey, the good stuff that's only around towards the beginning of the party, and grabbed two cups. "Whiskey, neat." He said, with a wink.
He took his own cup and took a big gulp and winced. It burnt, but he loved the feeling. He smiled again. "Cheers."

There were so many people traveling in an out of the kitchen; it would really only be a matter of time until many of them were drunk. Adelaide was amused at how quickly parties seemed to take off. She had gotten the text about this one less than a hour before and already it was crowded. She was certain that there would be more people to come. As the night grew late, many teens looking for a better way to spend their weekend would show up. Even Addie, who had been known to wait for her parents to go to bed before leaving for the night, had shown up to parties a lot later than they had started. She preferred to be there from the beginning, though; it was no fun being one of the few sober ones after the party had been going on for a few hours.
But, as Robbie returned with two glasses, Addie forced her thoughts away. She was here now, with a cute guy, who seemed to have some interest in her. She slid off the counter quickly, and then took her cup. "I think I can handle it." She grinned, with a slight wink. She then studied the cup and it's contents.
Whiskey. It was a drink with a slight after burn, which wasn't one of Addie's favorites. She preferred the fruity, sweet drinks, or beer. But, she wouldn't be picky. She had, after all, blatantly told the boy that she would take what he was having. "Cheers." And with a slight smirk, the teen took a sip.
It did burn, just as Addie expected. She scrunched up her nose, wincing slightly. She wasn't going to show weakness, though. She grinned, shifting her cup from one hand to the other as she leaned on the counter once more. "So, Robbie, are you at these parties much?" Anything to distract him from the sour face that followed each sip of her drink. Plus, she was kind of curious. She wasn't sure that she remembered him. There again, she didn't tend to remember names or faces very well from the parties. They were all just a blur the next morning.

Robbie smiled as the girl took a drink from her cup. She seemed like the sort who could handle it, but he could still respect a girl who held her whiskey. Whether they wanted to or not.
Thinking about the situation made him hold his smile a little longer than he usually would have. Maybe Jeremy stealing his cigarettes wasn't such a bad thing. After all, it had started him on the path to meeting this cute girl and getting a drink with her.
"So, Robbie, are you at these parties much?"
The smile faded slightly, but he still kept his tone light. "Yeah, I'm usually around. I talk to a few people, but keep to myself more than some others might. I'm almost always here when there's a party, though. Jeremy, this is his house, we're friends.. of sorts. Well, we can be seen together at least. He's still a rat bastard."
So much for keeping his tone light. The niceness faded towards the end. As good as the situation had turned out, the thief had still stolen his smokes. "What about you?" He added, trying to pick back up the light tone he had before. It wasn't the same, but it was a hell of a lot closer.
He downed the rest of his whiskey and poured another cup. After he poured some he set the bottle close to him so no one else would grab it. He'd claim it as his for the night.
Keeping an eye on Addie and holding a finger up as he took a few steps away to keep the conversation on hold, he opened a cooler on the other side of the bar and rummaged around.
"Do you want the beer or the fruity shit?" He said with a smile. She wasn't the best at hiding that she didn't like the whiskey visually. At least she drank it, he could respect that.

Addie could sense the boy's manner shifting slightly as he explained about himself at the parties. She smirked lightly toward the end. Jeremy was the party host. Though Adelaide didn't know him personally, she was growing to respect him. His party was starting out well, and Addie loved anyone who could host a good party. "Well, for a rat bastard he seems to throw a hell of a party." She winked, a slight laugh escaping her lips. She was in a happy mood now. Even if her normal party friends had bailed on her, she had a cute boy to show for it now. She was content.
Robbie seemed to hold somewhat of a grudge at this Jeremy. Or, at the very least, he was annoyed. Addie didn't feel like prying, however, she ignored his change in tone and gave a shrug. "I'm all nearing all the Lipton parties, though I can't say I've ever been to one here." Her smirk remained on her lips, clearly amused by the situation. She took a sip of her drink, scrunching up her nose slightly. It was strong, but she'd manage. "Although, unlike you, I'd be one of those 'others' who don't keep to themselves as much as they should." At least she was honest. By the time the night was out, Addie would probably be well known. She enjoyed dancing, drinking, and flirting with random cute boys. It was what she did. It was what she always had done.
Robbie had finished his drink already, and Addie looked down to her glass of whiskey. It still half-remained. If it were anything else, she was certain that she would have downed it, but she couldn't get past the after burn. She liked light drinks that it took many of to get wasted from. But, she'd settle for the whiskey for now.
As he started to leave, Addie raised an eyebrow curiously. He made his way strait to the cooler, and Addie frowned lightly. Obviously, he had taken note to her sour facial expressions. "No, no, the whiskey is fine." She chirped, taking another, larger, swig. She wasn't about to let him think that she was a wuss and couldn't handle her drinks.

Robbie smiled. This night was beginning to turn out better than he had imagined it would. The drinks were good and he had the company of a cute girl that seemed to be at least a little interested. There wasn't much more that you could ask for on a night like tonight.
"Although, unlike you, I'd be one of those 'others' who don't keep to themselves as much as they should."
"I don't mind getting to know people." He paused for a moment and smiled. "I'd just say I'm too shy to do much more than keep to myself. But that's fine with me, too." It was true, Robbie had gotten to know a lot of people at parties. Girls, more often that not. And that's the why he liked it. He liked to change things up a lot and meet new people, but he definitely didn't like to be rejected, and that made him shy. He wasn't perfect at all.
When Addie said that the whiskey was fine he laughed a little. "If you say so, I suppose. But how about some to wash it down?" Good god, he was starting to sound like all he did was drink. That wasn't too far from the truth. He grabbed a clear glass bottle and looked at it. "Smirnoff?" He said questionably, and held back a laugh. He put the bottle on the counter beside Addie and picked up the bottle of Jack.
"Let's make this a night to be remembered. Or not remembered. Whichever way it goes, let's make it a good night." He laughed lightly and took a giant swig of the whiskey. He winced and smiled at his new party friend.
