Alys loves her profession, she absolutely adores being an English teacher. Granted, she has only recently just started, she has spent time as an assistant in classes and is finally able to handle a class herself. Books and drama were always her biggest loves in life, and they still are. She enjoys a wide range of books, but has a slightly off-center taste, and enjoys likes of Palahniuk, Wilde, Poe, Stephen King, Pratchett, Kerouac, Steinbeck, Lee and Lovecraft. Though she teaches it, she isn't fond of Shakespeare, but absolutely appreciates his importance in literature.
She loves music, especially The Beatles, The Clash, Sex Pistols, Rancid, Oasis and Blur. Her music pet hate is Morrissey.
She enjoys walking her dog, going to the beach, going for coffee, having a drink (never wine, she hates wine), boats, sailing, parties, reading.

FRIENDS
She is a warm, caring woman who enjoys her career and takes pride in it. She Alys is likely to have a large group of friends outside of work, probably those she knew from college or from high school, though they're slowly disappearing into their own lives. She enjoys going out with them and having lunches.

HER STUDENTS
She is open to her students, though seldom does she reveal much about her private life to them. Alys enjoys acting as a guidance for her students and likes when her students share their problems with her. Alys would rather solve other people's problems so she can forget her own. She is not a universally liked teacher though and will undoubtedly have students who do dislike her. She can be harsh with those she considers to be trouble, as she wants to push them to achieve. This can translate as being, well, 'a bitch'. Despite her patience, when Alys snaps, she is truly terrifying.

LOVE
As for love, she had a boyfriend from the age of seventeen til twenty one, then another serious boyfriend from twenty one til twenty two, who ran off with her little sister. She's had a few one night stands, but nothing serious since she was twenty two. Alys is shaken by her experiences with men, but not entirely put off.

ENEMIES
Having lived a relatively quiet life, Alys isn't likely to have enemies, per se. She's not going to be a universally liked person, or a universally liked teacher, so their may be people or students who have vendettas against her. Alys isn't likely to rise to any provoking though.

Seeing as my character Eli is very big into writing, I see him loving her class a lot and probably even going to her to talk about his problems and her and Jonathon could be friends I guess, he's the only one I have close to her age at twenty six.

Eli is a shy, sweet boy who is normally quite unhappy. One who normally doesn't talk about his problems, in till they become to hard to contol and college mates sounds perfect.

Eli is also a cutter, so he wears long sleeves in any weather. So that causes many differant issues in his life.
