monica had been debating on going to the carnival all day long. she wasn't the biggest fans of crowds, and she didn't really like the big stench of them either. but she figured that it was best to go. after all, they only came around a few times a year. when she was a little girl she would go all the time with her parents, but now she was a college student. she couldn't just call up her parents and go with them, and she didn't really want to go alone. however, her best friend was out of town visiting her parents, so monica was all alone. of course, she could always ask daniel to meet up with her, they had been talking for a few days now, but she didn't really want to annoy him. after all, she didn't know if he was really into her, or if he just had a crush on her. monica was really starting to like him. of course, you couldn't be head over heels for someone after a few short days, but she did find him very attractive and he was funny, something she really liked in a guy. though she wanted to hang out with him before she knew if she really liked him or not. but the way things were going, she was very happy with the type of person that daniel was. finally, she stood up from her couch and went to her bedroom, picking an outfit to wear. she decided on a pair of jeans with a cute top. she then looked in the mirror, her hair still pulled into a ponytail from bed last night. she shook her head, and pulled the hair tie out of her hair, letting her hair fall down. she was lucky that her hair was very easy to style. she took out her curling iron and curled parts of her hair, so that it had a very wavy look. once she was happy with her appearance, she headed downstairs, looking at the clock. it was only around six oclock, in a few hours it would begin to get dark outside. she loved the carnivals most when it was dark out, you could see the lights from the rides and the games and other things.
at last she finally left her house. she got into her small car and turned on the radio, her favorite song playing, which resulted in her turning up the music loud and dancing in her seat. she laughed a little at how dorky she looked, and headed to the carnival. on days there was a carnival, the traffic was a lot heavier than usual, so monica sat patiently at a red light, tapping her fingers on the steering wheel along to a new song on the radio. she hummed along, and began to drive again when the light turned green. as she reached the carnival, she began to look for a parking spot, which seemed to be the hardest part. she sighed to herself, going around people, trying to find an empty space to park. everywhere but the back of the lot was full, so she drove to the back and parked, grabbing her bag and keys, and got out of her car. she headed into the carnival, looking around at all of the people. she walked by a food stand, her mouth watering at some food. she stopped to get some cotton candy, paid her money, and then popped a handful of cotton candy into her mouth. monica smiled at the taste, she hadn't had cotton candy in the longest time, and she loved the way it just dissolved in your mouth. she walked around looking at everything for awhile, before ending up in the game section. she didn't know how long she had been walking for when she ended up here, but her eye caught sight of a cute little stuffed dog that she really needed. at least she really wanted the cute little dog. she slung her bag farther up to her shoulder, and pulled five one dollar bills out of her pocket. there were three tries for a dollar, so she'd have fifteen tries to get the dog. however, she wasn't very good at games, and this game you had to pop three balloons, which she wasn't sure that she could do. but she really wanted this dog. she walked up and handed the guy monitoring the same a dollar, and began to play. she was terrible. before she knew it she was on her last dollar, and she sighed to herself. she really wanted this stuffed dog. she looked down at her last dollar and muttered a small 'damn'.
