Finally, it was almost summer! After a long year of tedious classes and bookwork, Nathan was ready to kiss college good-bye for a few months and to just relax. All that was left was finals week, and then he was free for around three months. Three whole months with nothing but friends, Lipton and... family. Family. It seemed to be the only thing that could get him down and make him dread summer. His family just seemed so dysfunctional lately. They weren't having affairs; they weren't suicidal. It was nothing too major. Just a slew of little things that had been thrown at them throughout the course of the year. It was really starting to create some tension and some drama. His family was convinced that he was majoring in something completely different than what he was, his little sister had returned after two years, he had learned he had a niece... the list only went on from there. Throw in a couple of on-again, off-again girlfriends, a crush on his best friend, and some touchy flings, and Nate felt like he had dug himself quite the hole. He really wasn't certain that he did want to return home for the summer.
Which must have explained his early morning ventures today. He had woken up early to head to downtown Lipton. His hope was that he would find a cheap apartment to rent for the summer so that he wouldn't have to go home. And a job, of course, so that he could pay rent and feed himself. His parents couldn't possibly force him to return home if he had other responsibilities and obligations. Or so, that was the idea. However, his parents could be quite stubborn, and Nate was certain that they'd find some way to get him home. This was why it was so crucial that he find somewhere to stay today before his parents were to get wind of it. They didn't need to know, yet.
But, it was nearing mid-morning and Nathan felt the need to take a break, regroup, and to sketch out a new plan. He hadn't found anywhere affordable yet. He needed to change his location and maybe try other ends of town. Knowing that his best thoughts often came to him over coffee, he had some how ended up here. Coffee, it seemed, was the best temporary energy fix that there was. He only hoped it would help him think this time.
And so, now he stood in the middle of the coffee shack. Lipton's finest coffee could be found here - only second to Starbucks, though twice as busy. He had been waiting for a few minutes already, and the line was still rather long. It would be a long wait. Normally he would have turned back around and left, but he didn't. Waiting would do him some good. His eyes traveled down to his phone, and he scrolled through his recent texts. It was going to be a long wait - he might as well find something to entertain himself. Adele wondered about town, trying to run errands. It didn't work out well because she was to hyper, and had horrible ADD. She had mailed off the letters to her aunts, that had happened. She had dropped off her fathers suits at the drycleaner. She had not yet gone to the store to pick up babystuff, but she had gone to the store and by herself some more clothes. She had bought shorts mostly, she had lots already but she loved them. Adele changed outfits many times a day anyways. Not to mention the awesome pajamas she had bought, because who was to know if the house burnt down at night, that they would have the cute firefighters? She sat in her car, wondering what to do now. She didn't want to buy stuff for the twins, the last time she had done that a guy had thought she was the one with babies. Adele knew for sure she was not having kids, she was more than likely never getting married. Her life style consisted of one guy for a week, and tats how she liked it. She didn't get attached to any guy, which resulted in her getting called heartless a lot, though she didn't care. After about two hours of trying to do errands, and some light shopping, she felt the need for a little pick-me-up. She needed coffee, and maybe a muffin while she was at it. Starbucks became visible to her as she drove a bit futher down the road she was on. She grabbed her number for the dry cleaners, it was probably smart not to forget half of her fathers suits. He already ignored her as much has humanly possible, probably smart not to piss him off. She walked into the dry cleaners and picked up the clothes, sighing when the guy asked her for her age. Why was everyone so shocked to think she was sixteen?! After a quick drop off the clothes into her car, she walked into Starbucks. The smell of warm coffee and all the little pastries they served hit her like a block, making her glad she had stopped here. She pulled up her knee high socks, pink and gray. She went to go stand in line when she spotted someone that she had not expected to meet; Nathan. She almost stopped and left, but instead she smiled and decided to have fun. She hadn't expected to see him for a while, or at least in the real world. Her virtual world was already ruined by meeting him. She walked up behind him and 'accidentally' bumped into him. "Ahoy, Nate-o" She smirked, tossing her pale blonde hair behind her shoulder with a flick of her hand. She wanted to make him miserable, because she was. Not to mention, his anger was always fun; provoking others was just fun. That was Adele for you though, ready to cause other problems at the drop of a dime. Outfit

Nathan hadn't made it far through his texts when he felt someone bump into him. He barely deterred his gaze from his phone, assuming that in a room as crowded as this, accidents happen. He was raising his hand to give a dismissive wave when he suddenly heard an all-too-familiar voice. "Ahoy, Nate-o." God. Only one person called him that. One person that he wasn't certain that he wanted to see anytime soon.
"Adele." His words echoed his thoughts, with a tone of both surprise and confusion. Pulling his gaze away from the phone now, Nathan spun around to meet the newcomer. She was smirking at him, clearly aware that she had the upper hand in the situation. Raising an eyebrow, Nathan's words came steadily. "Are you stalking me? We've spoke to each other more in the past three days than the past three months." A sly smile crept to his lips, however, as he looked over the girl. She hadn't changed. She was still Adele.
The two had history, though it wasn't much. Nathan had fell for her awhile back, which then led to a very short lived relationship. So short, that it was probably really considered to be just a fling. Adele had left after they slept together, and there had been some tension there every since. Adele had let it go. Nathan had held on to it. For some reason he found that he still had feelings for her.
Though, he'd never admit to that. Adele still did look pretty, however, and he found himself struggling to get his train of thought back on track. He was here for coffee. Adele had just happened to be here. After their conversation in the chat room a few nights back, he wasn't certain if this were a good or bad thing. "Here with your next guy? Where is he?" Oh how rude.. Thought Adele when she saw he was on his phone, and not paying attention. Of course she got his attention though, and that made her happy. She wandered if they shared the same thoughts, neither really wanted to see each other. Adele sure hadn’t planned on it. This afternoon she was not quite in the mood to run into him, but she was always in the mood to mess with someone. Especially if that someone was someone she knew that she had pissed off a while back. That was she did for a living, mess with people. She loved to cause problems because she had a few of her own.
She rolled her eyes what he said about her stalking him. Not off to an amazing start, this Nate-o was. Adele crossed her arms and waited for him to finish so she could begin. ”Stalking? Darling, if I was going to stalking anyone in this whole town it would not be you.” She said with a slight smirk. She used the back of her hand to lightly flip her back over her shoulder as she did so. Adele crossed her arms over her chested, once again. It was not like she had feelings for Nate, she was with Jude after all. If she had feelings Adele would be the last to know, love was a stranger feeling.
She tapped her sneaker against the floor. Nathan still looked the same, maybe taller. He probably had the same personality and such, and by his snarky comments it was obvious. She had never intended to feel anything for him when they had their little fling. He was cute, she was alluring. Boy meets girl type of fun. She frowned at him, ”No for your information, I am not with a boy today. Jude, is at home probably..” She was just showing of that she had an actual boyfriend, and not just a fling. Her and Jude were dating for maybe a month now, and so far it had been fun. Her longest relationship in a while.
