Manny clamped his hands over his ears pressing his back against his wall, listening to his parents shouts from downstairs. “Bastard child, worthless, kid” all names his parents called him instead of his actual name, to his parents he didn’t have an actual name. He lost his actual name long ago, when all the abuse started when he was eight. It started with the names, and progressed into the physical abuse later on. The names he could deal with for the most part, it was the abuse that always got to him though. He had the abuse and the constant fear of being abused, and not waking up. That was why when things got too bad he left, he found a way out and just went anywhere. He had too or he knew he would go insane, glancing at his door he sighed glad it was locked before standing and pulling his shoes on.
He couldn’t stay here, not with his parents lowering his self esteem the way they were so opening his window he glanced out at the pouring rain biting his lip. If he left now he would be at the hotel Apollo was staying in within thirty minutes, who cares that it was raining. It was really only rain right, rain couldn’t hurt him and climbing out his window he took a deep breath slowly climbing down the tree trying not to slip on the wet bark the rain making his clothes cling to his skin. Opening the door to the hotel he shivered running his fingers through his wet hair heading to Apollo’s room tears mixing with the rain on his face not even sure why he was crying. Standing at the door for a minute he bit his lip just opening it, praying that Apollo could talk or anything.

Apollo was by far overworking himself at this rate, but he was happy. He came home from school every day into his seedy Motel room and had a thirty minute break before he had to go to work, which lasted into the night. When he got back he went straight to bed. Or he got on his computer for a few minutes to socialize so he wouldn’t go absolutely crazy. Which he almost was, because he had not only a noisy neighbor who did nothing but have fun all night, but he was afraid of his parents finding him. During school or work he didn’t worry, but when he just lying in bed and had time to work he did nothing but worry. It was probably one of his biggest fears now, he lay in constant turmoil. Even his dreams seemed to haunt him at night, when he fell into a deep enough sleep.
Now he decided to jump in the shower, being able to hear the fun times of his neighbor did nothing to calm his frayed nerves. He let the warm water wash over him, letting it relax his tense shoulders. After a few minutes he heard thundering from outside, and he sighed deeply. He didn’t have much faith in the safety of the place, so he stepped out. Pulled a towel around his waist he stepped into the carpeted side of his motel room The layout was small, the whole place was small. The bathroom had bath and atoilet only crammed in together. He walked by the desk and to sit on his bed. . He kept his few clothes in a suitcase under the bed, and the rest were in a bag to be washed. He pulled on a pair of baller shorts and threw the now sopped towel on sink counter. The door opened.
In a whirl, he thought it was his step-father finally finding him. He freaked and stood still as a statue, his heart almost beating out of his chest. ”Manny!” He said surprised, but he began to calm down. Manny was awfully wet, and Apollo crossed the floor to grab a dry towel for Manny before walking towards him. Holding Manny he pulled him in, closing the door behind him. ”Hey, are you okay? Whats wrong Manny?”He asked, putting the towel around his shoulders. A slight blush crept up on his face at his next thought. ”Do you want to change? You couldn’t possibly stay in those wet clothes, you will catch a cold you know. Come on.” He said. Gathering up some clothes for him, one of his t-shirts and another pair of his ballers. Manny just dealt with his parents one day at a time, he dealt with the pain and the put downs trying to just really always stay strong even though it was hard and he sometimes really didn’t want to. Sometimes he really did think he was better off being killed by them, at least then he would be really free of them and the only thing keeping him alive was Apollo and the love he had for him. Apollo, he was Manny’s everything, and Manny didn’t fail to tell him that. Telling him that he really was one of the reasons that Manny lived, Manny really loved him and nothing could ever change that. He would keep fighting the urge to give up for Apollo; he knew that as long as he had him he would be alright. His teeth were now chattering and he was shivering by the time he got to Apollo’s door pretty sure he was already getting a cold due to the freezing cold rain falling outside so when he walked inside he coughed slightly. When Apollo walked out he noticed the surprised in his voice and bit his lip, “s-sorry for b-bothering you” he stuttered out wiping his eyes. “I-I just, I had to leave Apollo, th-they were just saying so many mean names and I couldn’t take it” he sniffled.
“I just, I don’t even know why I’m crying” he mumbled taking the towel looking at his soaked clothes knowing he really shouldn’t be staying in them since he could only get sicker then he already probably was. “Oh um yeah, I guess I should probably change. I don’t want to get any sicker” Manny blushed a little bit looking down chewing on his lip, he really didn’t want to seem like a bother to Apollo but he really did have to get out of his house before he did something really stupid. Sometimes his parents really did just upset him and get him down, they were the reason he was just always so insecure and frightened. They were the people that made Manny just feel like he was nothing every single day, and he really almost hated them for that. He never thought he could hate anyone, but he really did hate his own parents. They made his life hell, every single day and he really just couldn’t take it. It was really hard for him to take all that pain, he really was stronger than people thought he was.

Apollo and Manny had started off of as friends, and then moved on to their now magical relationship. The tale went that Apollo had hidden his ever-growing feelings for his best friend due to the fact that he was horribly scared of his viscous step-father. The feelings had overpowered him, and he didn’t want to live his life as a lie anymore, and that had earned him a grand visit to the emergency room. Though now, he was happy. He had Manny, he was healthy, the only problem thus far had been balancing work and school. Even then he had to count his blessings. His home was no longer a home to him, this Motel was what he called home. He didn’t honestly think it was that bad, he was never in it for along amounts of time. Over the weekends he did his shopping, any clothes or toiletries were bought, and then he looked for foods to keep in the small mini-fridge under the sink. He couldn’t buy foods you had to cook, so he made his way on different things. Apollo had never been a big eater, or spender. So getting buy was relatively easy and living in the Motel (like this one) was not all the pricey.
He absolutely hated how Manny’s parents treated him, it drove him crazy with anger. It also drove him crazy knowing there was very little he could do about it, in any legal action that is. Apollo had been able to escape, but it wasn’t the same for his boyfriend. There was never any doubt into how much he loved Manny, for it was obvious in everything he did. He had taken a hot iron to the chest just so he could be happy, and if it needed to be done he would do it again. He laid a gentle hand on Manny’s shoulder; ”You could never be a bother to me Manny, I love you. Those horrible people...They have a special place In hell.” He kissed Manny once on the cheek, and then a deep full kiss on the lips. As soon as he ended the kiss he looked sheepishly to the ground. ”The bathroom is just uhh... Right there, yes.” He said shyly. Apollo still wasn’t use to the whole hands on part of the relationship, since that something he never really caught on to. He was okay with projecting his feelings into words most of the time, but when it came to anything physical, well it was just out of his league. .

Manny couldn’t say he didn’t have feelings for Apollo in the beginning, because he did and he hid those feeling thinking that Apollo was straight along since that was just what he was meant to believe. It wasn’t in till they shared a kiss at the park that their relationship really became anything more them really a friendship and he was really happy with it. He was really upset when Apollo was in the hospital but that wasn’t unusual when he just loved him so much and it would have killed him if he dare lost him, Manny could deal with the pain his parents put him through but losing Apollo would have been what pushed him over the edge. Apollo was why he kept fighting to stay alive even though his parents really despised him and made his life really hard to live, he only was waiting for the very day he turned eighteen and could finally leave his home. He only really wished that the day would come by faster, since he didn’t know how much more he could take of the abuse. He really hoped he had enough strength and will power to make it the last few months.
Manny’s parents treated him horribly and the worst part was there was nothing people could really do for him since he was still a minor and because of that if the cops were called he would be taken from his home and either sent with family or placed into some group home or something and that wouldn’t be easy on him. He didn’t really like meeting new people, and it would just be a really bad experience and besides he’d be taken away from his Apollo and he couldn’t have that. “I love you too Apollo” Manny said quietly being kissed on the lips, when Apollo pulled away he nodded. “Yeah I guess they are” he mumbled looking at the clothes in his hands, “okay thanks” he said quietly before going off to change his face burning. Their relationship was an almost innocent one, filled with mostly words and cuddling, oh and kissing. Changing his clothes he glanced at his bruised and cut body biting his lip before walking back into the room. “That’s a lot better, but I’m still freezing and I feel awful” his face was still pretty red. Part of the reason why could be because he was probably getting sick or something though, but eh. He could actually deal with being sick, he was sick often so he was pretty use to it.

Apollo watched silently was Manny walked into the bathroom, feeling his heart practically go out for him. Manny hadn't ran away from his parents like Apollo had, though he wished he would/ Though he couldn't really bluntly tell him that, he would feel selfish if he told Manny to run away just to be with him. Though, not long after he awoke in the hospital to see his boyfriend crying, he had tried to persuade him to come with him to the Motel. As far as he could remember, he wasn't loopy on pills either. He really wanted Manny to break away with him, to runaway some how.
The sound of his cell phone ringing broke the still silence. He jumped on the bed to answer it, a call from work it was. He quickly unlocked his phone to answer the call from his boss. Apollo was lucky to find a job working part-time buffet. All he had to do was gather and clean dishes. The buffet was open to 12 most nights, and those were the nights he stayed till at least 12:30 to get things done. He stayed late some nights for extra pay, and absolutely lived off of the tips some people left for him to pick up.
Off of the phone by time Manny walked out, Apollo reached over to set it on the charger. He looked up when he spoke, noting his red face. "You can come cuddle with me..." Apollo said, pulling the blanket open as invitation for Manny to come sit with him. That was something Apollo knew how to do by now cuddle that is. They had an innocent relationship, and besides cuddling they didn't do much, for they were taking it slow. Apollo gave Manny a smile."

Manny changed his clothes pulling the shirt over his head wincing when it hit a few of his many bruises, as he glanced down at them. There were just so many of them it was really hard for him to keep track of them all now, and every day he only really added a new bruise. It was a normal everyday thing with Manny and he really hated it, he hated all the pain and how he felt afterwards. He would be bruised, bleeding, and would just want to go and lie down. He sometimes did really hate his life but he pulled through of it, and just stayed alive from his friend’s sake. It was really never for his own sake, since he hated all the abuse and just wanted to die sometimes.
Thinking for a moment of the time in the hospital when Apollo asked him to run away with him, he wasn’t sure what to say then. He was only seventeen years old and running away to be with his boyfriend sounded like a really big step and a really hard decision to make, his parents wouldn’t care though and he knew that but still. The thought of it still really made him nervous and stuff, and he really just needed to keep thinking about it for now. Maybe he’d decide to later on, but he just wasn’t sure right now.
Walking out of the bathroom out after changing he walked over to the bed sitting down next to Apollo setting his head on his shoulder his cheek cut, a cut he gained yesterday by talking back to his father. He was pretty use to that though, the cuts and the scars, and the bruises too. Yeah he was use to it all, “I really hate being at home” he muttered quietly biting his lip, and he really did.
