marnie was freaking nervous. she had a date with terrence. she met terrence by bad luck two weeks ago when she tried jumping off the cliff and into the cold river and he jumped after her and saved her from dying. he was the first person ever who had slapped some sense into her head and told her life was beautiful if she looked at in a optimistic way. marnie had no family, nobody to take care of her or love her, so basically she was a loner and life was all fucked up. she had recently moved in lipton and wasn't finding a way out of all the troubles so she decided to die but a hero showed up and made her believe that her life could be bright if she tried to fix up the mess. as marnie struggled, she got her dream job of a chef at the famous restaurant of the town and was now earning a real good amount. she was happy about it after a very long time and wanted to thank terrence for saving her and at the same time, warn him about not slipping about it to anyone that she tried suciding and he saved her. he promised her but laid a condition which was to go on a date with him. at first she didn't agree and this went on for a week between them and she finally gave in and agreed to go on a date, only on the condition he would never tell a soul about the suciding and saving thingy. he promised not to. men were so weird. after her break up with her ex bf she learned never to trust them but terrence was different. he was very very very honest and marnie didn't know why she just found it too hard not to ever feel that he could betray her. he was honest and caring and so different. sometimes she was in denial that she didn't like him and in order to make herself believe that she didn't like him, she would call him up and say him rude things like 'you think you're very cool, oh you're a loser. i don't like you' and stuff which was utterly stupid and randon of her but that was marnie for you. after a bad break up, she was doing everything to avoid love and manage to look 'rough and tough'.
she spend her whole day at work and was now going crazy thinking what to wear for her date. not that she wanted to look perfect standing next to terrence and impress him with her look, but in all honesty, she wanted to look good. any girl in her place would want to look good standing next to him. for many girls he was a sex lord and smoking hot but for marnie, he was the cutest and the most sincere guy who never said a lie, even if he was going to embarrass himself after admitting the truth. but she didn't let him know that she thought he was good looking cause that would only boast his ego and that would be too hard for marnie to handle. as she told faith that she thought terry was very cute, she told about it and he started to think that she was interested in him which she wasn't. it was only a silly date and after this date, she will never try to keep contact with him. that was what she had in her mind but at the thought of it, her heart skipped a beat and she felt weak. she couldn't say him a good bye. after such a long time she had met someone who didn't judge her and cared for her, she couldn't kick them out of her life. in fact, she wanted someone like that in her life and terrence seemed to really keen to fit in that picture. sadly, due to her bad experience with her previous relationship, she was too much broken up, she didn't wanted to face the deadly drama of love again.
she wasn't able to concentrate on anything the whole day and kept thinking what and how her date will go with terry. they were going to the beach and then at her place for dinner. marnie wasn't even sure what to wear. there was a bikini outfit she brought last week and pulled it on but on top on that she pulled on a blue dress with a jacket on top of that to keep herself warm. it was around eight already and beach was favorite place to take long walks around this time. she got there on time after making chicken spagheti for them for dinner and placing it in frigde. after they got back, she could get it passed in the oven and have it served as dinner. with everything planned up, she reached the beach and spotted him standing already there. on time he was. she was surprised, boys were never on time. '' hey. i'm surprised to see you're very punctual about the timingshe smirked. she was freaking out on the inside. she took deep breathes to calm her nerve. it was dark and not a lot people were around. the moon and stars were twinkling in the sky. '' this is my favorite place to be around this time. and walks around the water makes it even more better. but why did you pick this place for the date mister mccallister?'' she asked, taking her shoes off and holding them and walking towards the shore. the water touched her feet, and it felt really good. '' so tell me about yourself? anything and everything?'' she smirked.

the week had been a long one for terry. he had been going to college to study to be a doctor, even though everytime he passed the music room, his heart was calling. he thought about going without his parents permission and enrolling in a program, but he would have no way to afford it. without his parents paying for his college, he probably wouldn't have been in college anyways. the classes he had to take were very hard, and often he had himself pulling all nighters so that he could study for an upcoming test. there was a lot of reading to do, a lot of tests, and so much written work that sometimes he felt overwhelmed. often he had to just take a break, talk to friends and go places. just the other week he had saved a girl, marnie from killing herself. he felt that life was a beautiful thing to live, even if you had to deal with people who were going to bring you down. later on that week, after talking to marnie for a bit over im, and chat, he asked her out on a date. however, at first she declined, thinking that he would just play with her heart. that was not his intention. terry would never do that to a girl, even if he wasn't really into her. when it came to breaking up with girls, terry happened to be one of the sweetest boys. he always told them that it wasn't their fault, even if it was partially their fault. he knew that girls were sensitive and he tried to understand that as much as he could.
after getting home from school, missing his last class that wasn't very important, an easy french class he had to take for an elective, even though he already knew the language, he began to get ready for his date. terry got into the shower, washing his body and his hair and quickly got out, trying not to spend a lot of time in the shower. his hair took a bit of time to dry and he didn't want to go on a date with her thinking that he had spent no time trying to get ready. after taking his shower he got out, drying himself and then wrapping his towel around his waist. he walked into his room and opened his closet, deciding on what he was going to wear. usually he would wear a tee shirt and jeans on a date, and that was probably what he was going to end up wearing. it was his best attire, as he didn't really like dressing up unless he absolutely had to. though he didn't want her getting all pretty if he was going to wear a tee shirt, so he pulled out a plaid shirt and a plain white shirt. he picked up some nice jeans and a pair of underwear and put everything on. he then walked over to his dresser and looked in the mirror, picking up a brush and running it through his hair. it was slowly beginning to dry, and by the time the date was, his hair would be perfectly dry. he opened up the top drawer of his dresser and put on a clean pair of socks. he took a deep breath, a bit nervous for this date. he was always very nervous before a date, and this wasn't an exception. he bit his lip slightly before standing up and looking in the mirror. he thought he looked veyr good, but then he always though he looked good. he wasn't conceited, he just had a lot of confidence.
finally he headed outside, taking in a breath of fresh air. to say he was nervous would be a huge understatement. the hope inside of him was hoping that this date would go well, because if it didn't he didn't know what he would do. he really happened to like marnie, everything about her. and he was determined to make her believe that love does exist. terry strongly believed in love although he hadn't been in love since his first real girlfriend had cheated on him back in high school. he was crushed for awhile, but he had to move on and go on in life. he couldn't just give up because one bad thing had happened in his life. as he reached the beach, he looked at his phone to make sure he was on time. and he was. he let out a sigh of relief because he had really wanted to be on time. it was a real turn on to girls, and it showed that he was much better than most other guys. "i am always on time," he winked. "just kidding, i'm very rarely on time. but i needed to be on time for you," he said, before pulling marnie into a hug. he released her as she walked over to the water, him following slowly behind. "girls like water. and walking near water is always nice," he admitted, smiling at her. then she asked to know things about him, and he took a small breath, thinking for a moment. there was a lot of different stuff about him, but he didn't know what exactly she really wanted to know. "well," he began, before running a hand through his hair. "i'm in college to be a doctor, even though i don't want to be one. i want to make music. my parents don't see this, and they think that being a musician won't really get me anywhere," he sighed, thinking about signing up for a music class again. it just seemed like it wouldn't work. "what exactly do you want to know about me?" he asked, before taking off his shoes and letting his feet touch the water.
