How many days in a year?
She woke up with hope but only found tears
Becca Abigail Faythe was the first child of Derrick and Sarah Faythe, adopted when she was three months old. Derrick was a pastor at the local Methodist church and her mother was a Sunday school teacher and local art teacher. The two knew well what they were getting into adopting a child whose previous home life included extensive drug use before, during, and after pregnancy with poor prenatal care and lack of nutrition. Indeed when they got poor Becca she was under weight, suffered from bad lungs, and was confined to a heart monitor due to her heart having stopped three times. The two were told they would be unable to have children and thought it was God's will for them to adopt the tiny infant. Though shortly after they were able to have Breanna, Becca's sister who is younger by three years.
Growing up Becca seemed an entirely normal child..well that is what Sarah would tell you anyway. Since she had never had any other children she failed to notice Becca's early obsession with vampires, bats, spiders, and graveyards. She saw it as her little one being wise beyond her years. Which, in a sense, wasn't entirely untrue. Becca is functioning at a high intelligence level and always has. Becca had a habit of having to hug everyone she came in contact with though that was quickly shamed off by the other adults. She began walking, talking, and reading early, too. By the time she was four she was functioning on a first grade reading level which soon blossomed into her obsession with reading. As a child Becca was prone to bouts of moodiness that the doctors shrugged off as late-set 'terrible twos'. Neither of her parents saw it as the early warning signs of Bipolar. These became even more prominent after the deaths of her Nana when she was four, her cousin when she was seven, and her uncle at eight.
By the time Becca hit first grade she was known by every staff member of the local library and loved for her cheeky, bubbly personality. At the age of seven Becca saw a TV show talking about the study of psychology and decided she must learn about it, though she had no idea what it was. The ladies' at the front were shocked when little Becca decided she wanted to read a psychology book. In her little southern town it wasn't common for anyone to be checking out the psychology books much less a second grader. But they found her one that she just gobbled up and soon she became obsessed with it, as well. An obsession, like reading, never went away. She also was entered into a school writing contest by her teacher and won first place. She began to write as an source for the pain and sadness she felt at losing her cousin and uncle within ten months of one another. The cousin who had been like a big sister to her growing up.
In fifth grade she discovered goth. Her moods had begun to plummet and she found a site online talking about depression and somehow ended up on a website about goth. It peaked her interest and her aunt took her to buy her first pair of combat boots, some gothic-band tees, and Tripps. She was the emcee at her talent show that year decked out head to toe in black and goth fashion. At the end of that school year her dad got a new church assignment and they moved several hours away to Georgia. The county they lived in was one where everyone had known everyone since diapers and they were very close knit. When Becca came in dressed goth and a whirlwind of activity it shocked the other kids which soon turned into confusion and then a-typical redneck violence. At first it was only name calling but within a couple of weeks turned into people beating her up every single day. She regularly came home with bruises and bloody noses that she took care of before her parents saw.
The crack and crumble of her faith came in seeing the people who went out and got drunk every night, did drugs, slept with other's husbands and wives, and the kids at school who bullied her act a certain way in the church then a different way in public. She decided that all of them were hypocrites and began seeking new religions. Around this time she also became a vegetarian and got involved with several grassroots organizations. Aside from fixing her stomach issues and her sickness it made her mind clearer to think.
When Becca chose Buddism as her religion her parents somehow found out. They proceeded to scream, call her horrible things, and tell her she was a sinner. To which she replied that she was no more or less a sinner than all the other hypocrites who attended the church, including her screaming father. Her parents threw her out, though her older cousin took her in. She still had to stay in the small town and be bullied and chastized by the other kids but at least she could be herself, even though she was mandated by the court to return home three weeks later. She spiraled downhill fast from the bullying and her stress, and began cutting herself at twelve. She also attempted suicide by ODing on Tylenol that Christmas. Her parents rushed her to the ER where she was evaluated, released under supervised care by her parents, and taken to a psychiatrist. Over the course of the next year she was diagnosed with several anxiety disorders and bipolar disorder. The cutting continued and two more suicide attempts happened by hwe twelfth birthday. Her parents moved shortly after when her dad was reassigned to a church out in Lipton.
Bullying followed her there, as well. She was mercilessly bullied by the popular kids. Again depression grabbed her in it's talons. She met Demetri Rosswell that same year, though. And he became her rock, her best friend. The two went through so much together and after a suicide attempt last year they realized they needed one another. The two began a romance that led to an engagement while Becca was still in the hospital. Things seemed utterly perfect.
FEBURARY 2012
Becca isn't sure how it happened, really. They used protection the one time they had sex. Somehow the seventeen year old found herself pregnant. After four months of hiding it she broke down and told Demetri. It broke into an argument in which he told her he couldn't deal with her problems anymore. That night he left her and made it clear he doesn't want her back. The next morning Becca's mother saw her changing and saw Becca's baby bump. A two hour long screaming match between Becca and her parents led to her being kicked out.
MARCH 2012
For two weeks she was homeless. Starving, only eating what she could panhandle enough money for. Living out of the back of her hearse. When one afternoon she was having a panic attack in the park. A lovely, kind, British man named Dr. John H. Watson walked her through the panic attack. After a conversation in which she mentioned she was homeless and four and a half months pregnant he insisted she stay with him. Though she didn't want to impose Becca finally agreed. She also has begun talking to one of her friends from school, a boy named Danny, who has begun stealing Becca's heart.
And I can be so insincere
making her promises never for real
When she is on her medication Becca is really easy to get along with, though is prone to severe mood swings when off of it. She is a good kid and rarely misses a dose of her mood stabilizers so she hasn’t had a full-blown spell of either mania or depression in a few years. She is really different from the way most people perceive her. She may dress like she just spent the night dancing in a graveyard (though before getting sent to Rivera a year ago that was a favorite activity), but she is really a friendly, happy, perky, and fun person to be around. Though when off her medication Becca becomes withdrawn and quiet. She'll often slip into crying and bouts of total isolation. She is a completely different person off her meds. It also seems whenever Becca goes beyond level four she has a relapse in her self-injury or anxiety and has to be kept under stricter lock and key.
She has an almost child-like enthusiasm about life, spending every day living like it’s her last. She is a little ray of sunshine to all those around her, and is regularly kept hyper by her excessive caffeine habit. She loves to make new friends and is very loyal to those she is friends with. She is naïve to the point of being stupid sometimes, believing in giving people chance after chance even when they kick her down every time. She is also a hopeless romantic, dreaming constantly of love.
She is an animal fanatic and refuses to tolerate animal abusers and has gotten physical several times with people who she’s seen hurt animals or children. She supports peace over violence but isn’t above blowing up if you do something that really upsets her. She is also going on six years being a vegetarian and cites it as one of her best decisions ever. A creative soul, she is rarely seen without a notebook and a pencil stuck behind her ear. She loves to write and draw and can be found usually doing one of the two.She likes to help and becomes anxious when things are out of her control. She doesn’t like seeing people hurt and has a bit of a ‘mother hen’ complex. She is also very protective of people she loves.
As long as she stands there waiting
Wearing the holes in the soles of her shoes
Becca is a pretty girl in her own way. She stands at roughly 5'4" and has a slender body. She doesn't have any muscle to be found on her though seems to still be pretty capable of defending herself. She has the natural curves of a fifteen year old girl but has no excess body weight. Her skin is a soft, fair shade that most would consider 'pale'. Her skin (face, neck, chest area) is flawless. She has blue eyes, that seem to be one of the first things people notice about her, which are a bright but translucent color. Her lips are full and pouty normally colored in reds, wines, or black. In general her body seems normal until one gets a good look at her wrists (provided she isn't wearing a ton of bracelets). If someone were to get close enough to her to see there are a number of healed scars on her lower arms/wrists and usually a few fresh ones. She's been a recovering SI for three years but has her slip ups, especially with the change of schools. Her hair is blackish-brown and kept that shade with occasional streaks of some Manic Panic color thrown in.
In terms of her clothes she is most certainly of the Goth persuasion. She doesn't dress like the crypt keeper type goths on TV and in movies, but favors dark colors with victorian accents. Her two favorite styles of said Goth fashion are victorian and steam punk. Her outfits vary by her moods and she can be seen in a little bit of everything; from victorian-style dresses and skirts to jeans and a band tee. Her shoes also depend on her outfit, but she has her favorite monster boots on most of the time. In terms of makeup she likes dark but with a hint of color. Bracelets are normally loaded up on her wrists to keep the scars and cuts from showing.
How many days dissapear?
So when you look in the mirror how do you choose?
Becca is extremely shy and socially awkward. So it is hard for her to make friends. Though once you break through the intial anxiety about her you'll come to find she's one of the best friends a person could have. She doesn't judge, is kind, caring, and understanding. And she continues to forgive even when she shouldn't. I'd like for her to have a couple of best friends. A girl and preferrably a gay guy.
How many lovers would stay?
Just to put up with the same shit day after day
Becca's love life is confusing as hell. She was with Demetri Rosswell for a year and a half. Actually, the two were engaged. Then they slept together and Becca became pregnant. The anxiety of being pregnant and a pastor's daughter made her feel like a failure and spawned depression issues. When she told Demetri she was pregnant he freaked out and said he wasn't ready to be a dad. A fight ensued and Demetri finally told he he couldn't take dealing with her problems anymore.
How did we end up this way?
Watching our mouths for the words that we say
Becca is goth. This alone gets her bullied alot. Also, since she is so shy and emotional people tend to think she is weak and she is overpowered easily. I see her being bullied but maybe only one major rival? Also, I'd like someone who really, really pushes her around and tries to control her.
AND WHILE SHE LOOKED SO SAD IN PHOTOGRAPHS
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE HER WHEN SHE SMILES
