So this Dakota's best friend since elementary school.They have done everything together since the first day of second grade, when the teacher assigned them to sit next each together. They have gone through thick and thin together, like when Dakota's father passed away, his best friend was right there for him. And when his best friends heart got broke by some idiot in middle school, Dakota handed her tissues.
Middle school was when his best friend got weird though, because after puberty she sort of devolved a crush on Dakota. She held onto this crush, but never admitted it to anyone because it felt weird. Dakota was like the brother she never had, and you didn't crush on your brothers. Well after her big heartbreak in seventh grade (I'll leave that part of the plot to you) she developed even more feelings for Dakota, and seeing him with other girls showed her sweet he was. It stilled killed her to see him dating though.
Well this crush lasted till now, and I think that she will finally tell him about it, and Dakota being guy and all will take her out on a few dates and just treat her just like he would any other girlfriend. But the relationship will have to end when he ends up with his final and they will return to best friends after she puts those feelings behind her.

So this is the older guy that Dakota idolized in Middle school for being so openly gay. Dakota started to like him, but the guy constantly wrote him off as a little kid. Dakota still liked him though, even though it wasn't ever obvious. Well Now that Dakota is in high school he is looked for the guy he used to like so much, and he wants to really try to get to know him this time. Once again though, the guy is getting aggravated with the 'little kid," and after a while of this game, the guy realized that he actually does like Dakota even though he doesn't want to say he does. And when Dakota confronts him on being a jerk and finally leaves him alone, the guy will just become more angry, and yell at Dakota. Thus, Dakota is heartbroken.
