Stephanie was troubled. She couldn't believe what she was reading right in front of her, but it had to be right. She looked at the pregnancy test that was clutched in her shaky hands, and she felt her stomach twist.She was having a baby? Could it be true? As a reflex she held a protective hand on her belly, still not believing what she was seeing. Two pink lines meant it was true, and she swore those lines were so pink they looked red. She snagged some toilet paper and wrapped up the test to stick into a plastic baggy, if it was true she wanted to keep it from memories. Stephanie washed her hands and walked out of the bathroom, feeling the sudden urge to go lay down for a bit. She had only picked up on the weirdness of morning sickness, but she had only thought it was a virus.

(A few days later)
Stephanie was home again, feeling extremely joined and nervous at the same time. She had just gotten home from her doctors appointment, it was true. She was pregnant, a few weeks pregnant. She had been overly excited to find out, and she was so happy. She loved babies, and she was just a naturally motherly person at heart. She had wanted to confirm her pregnancy before telling anyway, sense the little sticks always held the chance of being wrong. She was nervous about telling Dominic though. She didn't honestly know how he would react, but she loved him with all her heart and she felt that the feeling was mutual. Babies could be a sensitive subject though, and she didn't know what he would think.

Obviously the baby was Dominics, Stephanie hadn't been with any other guy her whole life. She had married him over the summer, after being completely in love with him after she first laid eyes on him. Steph wasn't capable of loving anyone else but him, seeing him every morning made her day better. School was going seemingly well for both of them, and they both worked hard. She didn't think now as to bad of a time to have a baby anyways. She just needed to figure out a way to tell him that wasn't overly blunt, she wanted it to be a surprise. She had thought of the way moms told their children, or how she had heard other wives tell their husbands. As unique as she wanted to be, she didn't want to make it so out there he didn't get it, or so blunt that it wasn't sweet.

After setting her keys and her purse down on the table, Steph looked around the house. "Dom? She called out, looking for her husband. Now would be a good time to tell him, yes. It wasn't like waiting was going to change anything. On her way back from the doctors visit she had bought a T-shirt for Dominic, and it said "Dad In-training" on it. She thought it was a bit cheesy, but it was the best she could think of. "I got you a little present today at the store, come and see what it is!"] She hollered, and then sat down on the couch along with the gift bag. She felt butterfly's dancing in her stomach, and she could hardly contain her excitement. She was smiling, and she felt like she radiating.

Dominic was actually really surprised with everything that had happened the last couple of months and even years before where he was today, married at barely even nineteen and a college student. If you told him years ago he’d be married at nineteen he wouldn’t have ever believed you, being the awkward boy that he always was. Here he was though, married to Stephanie and never happier. Steph was his first and only girlfriend; he knew right away he wanted to be with her for the rest of his life so here he was today. He knew that wasn’t the case for everyone though of course, some people had to date many different people before finally person for them but for Dom that wasn’t the case. He just seemed to be so lucky, and he reminded himself that he was lucky every single day of his life. He loved his life and he was even still surprised of its turn out, but he wouldn’t dare change a thing.

Sitting at home that afternoon he was honestly wondering where Steph was, he knew she hadn’t been feeling well the last couple of days though so he was thinking she probably went to the doctors to try and figure out what could be wrong. He noted that her sickness seemed to happen a few weeks after a night they spent together, a night that Dominic still couldn’t even seem to understand or explain for that matter. The events of that night were still a blur in his mind, but he knew that he didn’t have any regrets; he was married judging by the ring he wore on his finger and hardly ever took off. Twisting his ring on his finger he sighed hearing his name being called from downstairs, Steph was home. He stood before heading downstairs walking into the room.

“I’m right here love” he said when he walked into the living looking at her, “you look happy today by the way. All smiley and all” he added, he sorta wondered what had her so happy and just what the doctor said, “so what did the doctor say was the matter” he asked?

Originally Steph had just thought she had contracted a virus from school, it was the time of year that people got sick. It was just nausea and a headache. She wasn't scared about it until the pregnancy test, and then it made her think about it. She absolutely loved the thought of having a baby, and now she was going to make sure she stayed healthy. She remembered how one of her friends had suffered a miscarriage, and the doctor had told her of all the things that she needed to be aware of. Stephanie had never done anything with anyone before Dom, besides flirting and kissing that is. That's why everything had been so perfect and beautiful with Dominic, her on true love.

Stephanie felt like her chest was about to explode, she was happy. Her hair eyes were bright, and it was like she was glowing she seemed to radiate joy. She already had a few things planned to make sure everything went right. She was going to eat right, more healthy, and try to relax more. She knew that there was no way all the stress she loaded herself was good for the baby. She would try not raise her arms above her head or do any heavy lifting. She wouldn't drink, even though she didn't to start with, and she had already bought vitamins to take in the morning before school. She had readily listened to the doctor as he gave her tips and advice. Even the doctor had been shocked that she was already married so young, but Stephani told him that it didn't matter if she waited a few years, she would still love Dom, so why would she delay the time they would spend together in holy matrimony?

As soon as Dominic walked into the room Stephanie almost yelped in joy. She was just so excited, her chest hurt. "Dom, Dom!" She said, chuckling. " You just have to show-you I mean you need to open your gift" She clapped her hands and practically threw the gift at him. "Open it open it!" She was almost out of breath, she was so excited. She almost couldn't wait, she just wanted to blurt it out and get it over with. The more she had to wait the more doubts the surfaced. What if Dominic just.. left? Leaving her with a baby. During a moment with less adrenaline she would scold herself for thinking that, but a women in love could think crazy things. She kept a smile on her face, and she perched on couch, yes on Dominic.

From what Dom know, Steph just had a virus as well. Those were common things for college students, and just people in general, he was sick just last week with a pretty nasty virus that he was sure he got from school. It never occurred to him that Steph could have anything else, let alone the thought that she could even maybe be pregnant or anything. Sure there was always that possibility on the back of his mind, but he never figured that it was that, maybe if he did he would have been able to guess what was going on with Steph, but of course he didn't and he was just as clueless as she was.

Dom loved kids though, and he was going to be so ecstatic when Steph told him the news. Sure the two were young, a lot younger then some married couples, but he didn't really think that mattered. The two were in love, and he thought that it didn't matter when they got married because no matter when it was it wouldn't change anything. Steph was his first and only girlfriend before they got married, Dom was the type to wait for someone and not just go to whoever was available. He just wasn't that type of person, and he never would be that type of person. He did have his values, and he went by his values.

When Steph threw the gift bag at him he blinked slightly surprised and even more confused, what was going on he wondered as he opened the bag taking the shirt out of it. It took him a few minutes just to figure out before he looked up at her, his eyes slightly wide. "A-Are you really" he said stuttering his words slightly surprised even still, "is th-that what th-the doctor told you" he added just looking at her.

Even with a gut full of butterflies and her heard in an absolute frenzy of thoughts, Steph didn't stop smiling. She was overjoyed and she could barely stand it. She could hardly get one clear thought out before another one jumped up. She was in love with Dom, anything and everything that had to do with him. Now she already felt like she was absolutely in love with the baby they were to be having in a few months. She was not backing out now. This was the next step of being a family, after all what was so wrong with having a baby? People could look at her nasty like she was to young, like she was a whore, but she was married, so it wasn't a problem.

Steph felt the energy running through her body, fueling her.She could run a few laps, maybe dance around a bit. She had told herself to act calm and all before Dom found out, but she couldn't hardly contain herself. This had been the greatest year ever. She had gotten engaged, and then married, and now she was going to have a baby! She had gotten rid of her doubts in the car, and now she felt she could take on the world. She clasped her hands together and crossed her legs, just waiting.

"Yes Dom, that's what the doctor told me! I'm pregnant" She nodded and smiled from ear to ear as she told him, and she felt like she was shaking with the energy. She knew that he would be shocked, anyone would be shocked when they found out they were having a baby. She could hardly contain her happiness, and the words felt awkward as they came out of her mouth, but she still felt great. She had now experienced the three best things in the world.

Surprised was what Dom was for the most part when he heard the news, and in fact it was even a surprise to him that he didn't faint right on the spot. He tried keeping it together the best he could though, mostly for Steph's sake but it was clear that he was surprised. He wasn't mad or anything, he would never be mad since he loved Steph very much and he was certain he wanted kids, sure never this late but things happened and this just seemed to happen and here he was at nineteen with his wife pregnant and that was how things were. Though he never fainted, the surprise was pretty clearly shown on his face, his eyes widened slightly and for a minute he didn't say a single word, he just sorta sat there.

It was almost as if he couldn't even speak, no words could even be formed and he just sat there for a few minutes in till he finally was able to close his mouth and just blink first. "Wow" he said really quietly, which in a way was a typical Dom reaction, a lot of things seemed to surprise him and this was just one of those things that surprised him. He wasn't mad or anything, in fact he was pretty happy to but that didn't mean he wasn't surprised either, because he was really surprised. Him of all people was going to have a baby, he was still surprised that he was actually married with everything that was going on and how his life use to be before everything. He started out being a kid out of a pretty broken family, with parent's who were hardly home making him mostly care for his self. He was also always a pretty quiet guy.

At least he was quieter then most people, that was quickly learned by people. He was the sweetest though and perhaps that was just what Steph saw in him. "Wow, we're having a baby. That's wow" he smiled, he was really happy, sure it didn't quite seem to show though.
