Dull Days (Open)

Allison was really bored lately, seeming that there wasn’t much for her to do at home she had to try and figure out things that she could do and that would keep her occupied for certain periods of time without boring her. That was actually starting to turn into a difficult task since with Allison everything seemed to bore her at one point; she tended to be really picky when it came to certain things and this was just one of those things that she was picky with. What she actually wanted to do, sometimes it could seem like forever for her to pick something, and then she would just go and get bored with it in the very end anyways.

Sighing she turned the TV off, it just seemed that nothing she wanted to watch was on today, probably because she didn’t like most of the shows on TV anymore. They all just seemed so boring and they just didn’t really entertain her so she just wouldn’t watch them even in the dullest of days. Going through all the places she enjoyed being, she decided the park was probably going to be her best option. It at least wasn’t always full of the people who would always bully her, and she could probably be alone if no one decided to bother her.

Not that she would mind it depending on the person, there were only some people she could stand most days when she was just in one of those moods. This was one of those days and sitting down on a swing she sighed, it was a nice day and all but she just couldn’t seem to understand what made it so dull. Maybe it was the fact she really wasn’t even doing anything, yeah that just had to be it. It had to be.

Penelope wanted to be anywhere but home that day. As usual, her parents were both at work, and her sisters off doing whatever activities that they did which got them so much praise from mother and father dearest. Normally, she was quite content to have the hosue to herself, being able to play whatever music she wanted and as loud as she wanted, have unrescrited access to the fridge, and have complete dictatorship over the television remote, but that day it simply hadn't appealed to her. Frankly, Penelope was bored out of her mind, and when she got too bored her mind wandered to ways she wasn't good enough.

And when that happened... There tended to be more cuts on her forearms than usual. Not that Penelope was opposed to what she did, but the more often she cut, the harder it was to hide. At any rate, she did still need to come up with an excuse as to why she was wearing a long-sleeved sweater on such a nice day, with a dress that had a hem that hit just above her knee. Penelope could show her legs, she only cut her arms. Penelope looked around the park, biting her lip. She wasn't sure why she was there, it was the first place her feet had carried her to.

She saw a girl who looked around her age and vaguely familiar, perhaps they shared a class or two. Penelope ran a hand through her hair, and then immediately tugged at her sleeve. She continued biting her lip, not sure if she should say anything or not. Maybe she should just keep walking.
