"...Goodbye, mother." Adelaide frowned, snapping her phone shut before her mother could finish her thought. They'd been on the phone for the past five minutes now, and Addie was sick of her questions. She wasn't five; she could handle herself just fine. Rolling her eyes at the previous phone call, the teenager made her way down the street. The entire reason that she had left the house was because her mom was starting to get on her nerves. She'd gotten a D- on her first test of the year, and she'd skipped out on chores and curfew the previous evening. She was sure that she'd be grounded soon, but Addie just assumed she'd deal with that later. For now, she intended to get some shopping of some sort done... or maybe get some lunch.
Normally she'd spend her days at the mall, but most of her friends were busy today. What fun was the mall without her friends? Plus, she was sure that she'd look like a dork if she showed up alone. No one went to the mall alone... by choice, anyhow. Addie sighed, turning into a nearby store. She wasn't really sure what they sold; she was never at this part of town. What harm could it be, though?
Clothing. She was slightly relieved as she noticed this. No one could turn down a good chance to clothes shop, in Addie's eyes. Seeing that the only other person in the store was the sales clerk, however, the teenager groaned softly. At least it'd be quiet.
Walking over to a nearby rack, the girl shifted through the clothes on it. The sales clerk paid her no mind. She was busy talking rather loudly on her cell phone, with her back turned. Addie sighed once more; today had just been a sucky day. But, now that she thought about it... this week had just been a sucky week.
