YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE YOUR EYESif ten million fireflies lit upTHE WORLD AS I FELL ASLEEP Mordecai walked into school feeling like he had legs of lead. Not to great of a feeling. Mordecai made himself suffer to go through everyday of this year because he only went every now and then last year, and if he wanted to get out of his fathers house he was gonna have to suck it up. Mordecai had already received a call this morning to go get his father and he just as easily declined. Mordecai kept his head down and walked to his class. He had done his homework and was for once pretty sure he had gotten more than half of it right. Mordecai through his bag down took out his things for the class and sat at his desk. For the next two hours the same followed. The came his least favorite part of the day, Lunch, Mordecai had almost no one to sit with so he usually read out by the big tree and ate whatever he had time to throw into his bag. Today it was a apple with a side of Alice In Wonderland. Mordecai almost always read classics and today he read one he had not read yet. Or at least the original one. Mordecai watched as people walked by eating, texting, talking, and even a few people walked by holding hands. Mordecai rolled his eyes and continued reading his book and biting his apple, and once he was done with the apple he threw it into a small trash can almost directly next to him. - - - - - - - - - - status: COMPLETEtagged: Ajiawords: Over 100outfit:click notes: Nope lyrics: FIREFLIES, OWL CITY credit: TEMPLATE BY SHAZI ?! Blah blah blahdiddy blah... Ajia sighed as she listened to the monotone voice of her history teacher go on and on about the government and economical values that stand today. Yawn. Ajia is relatively new to Lipton, but hasn't had trouble making friends or meeting people so far, let's just say she's a very curious cat. The bell rang the end of class. As quickly as possible, Ajia grabbed a page of the handout that was just barely making through the end of the row and left the bland class. Finally, lunch time.
Lunch was a bittersweet occasion for Ajia. She got to get out of class and really rejuvinate herself. But then again, she never knew what she wanted to do for lunch. She had Bailee, but at the moment she didn't know where that girl ran off to. Ajia held her binder against her chest as she started walking through the quad looking for a friendly face. At the corner of the quad was a tree and a guy sitting there reading a book. She was instantly intrigued. Ajia was a rather persistant girl. It's not like she stuck her nose in other people's business, but it's more like she's too friendly and social. She felt that everyone needs to come out of their shy cage eventually and she likes to see if she can bring them out sometimes.
Ajia began to make a bee line for the tree. Five step. Stopped. She hesitated. Debated. Should she really disturb this guy from his peace and quiet time?. She turned around to walk the other direction. No, she'd at least like to know his name. Plus, the tree looked big enough for two. Reluctantly, Ajia turned back around and slowly made her way over to the dude.
"Hi, mind if I sit?" Ajia asked as she looked down at him in a noncondescending way whatsoever. She literally had to look down at him.

Mordecai was intently reading when the girl came up and had not noticed her at all. When she asked to sit though he tore his eyes away from the book and looked up at her. She looked down him seemingly innocently. "Oh ya sure totally" Mordecai scooted over to let the girl sit down. Even though he didnt expect her to sit right down next to her but he felt like that was just a good thing to do. Mordecai's voice was kind of lower then usual from not talking. He was glad it had not squeaked or cracked at all. Even tough he did not feel any tension between the two of them, the last thing he would want to do was make the "new" girl think he was gay. Or Justin Biebers cousin. Mordecai looked the girl up and down. She looked like she would have a lot of friends or at least a lot more the he. The girl was pretty with fashionable clothes and dark hair. Mordecai looked back at his book then decided to pluck one of the long leaves from the tree for a bookmark. It was a hobby of his two use different things from where every he read for bookmarks. For memories.

Ajia did a little happy dance in her head as the guy gave her a positive answer. She gave him a small smile, trying to act as nonchalant as possible. Ajia plopped down right next to him, resting her back against the tree trunk. She studied his features a bit. His dark hair. His blue flannel. His piercings. She smiled.
"So," She turned body slightly to face him as she watched him put a leaf in his book as a substitute for a bookmark. "I'm Ajia, like the country, but I'm not asian." Ajia giggled and extended her hand out, "What's your name?" Ajia noticed that there were eyes on the two, but really she didn't mind. She never hangs out with the same group of people every single day, maybe a person that she's close with, but even that, not the whole day. Back home, she never hung out with her closest girl friend at school. They always just met at eachother's cars after school and planned to do something then and there. Usually everyone kind of figures out that Ajia is not one for routine. She doesn't like to do the same things over and over again, consecutively. Ajia is rather a spontaneous girl. If she had the money for gas, she'd be driving around the town every day looking for something fun and exciting to do.

The girl stuck out her hand and Mordecai shook it back. She told him her name (Ajia, just not like the place.) Mordecai cleared his throat "Hey I am Mordecai" Mordecai looked down at his watch. There was still almost thirty minutes for lunch.Mordecai took ing the girls nice clothing and perfume. The way her hair fell on her shoulders.Mordecai felt compelled to ask. "Are you the new girl?"He felt stupid asking he already knew she was, but he felt it would be really rude not say anything. He had defiantly heard her name before and seen her in the halls. She had been talking to someone who had ran into him.

Mordecai, hmm, what a fascinating name, thought Ajia. She watched him check his watch and could only feel like she was boring him or wasting his time. Perhaps he had something else to tend to, but he just sat there, staring at her. This made Ajia feel self conscious. She's never one to have no self confidence, but at that moment, she felt like something was in her teeth or something. Awkwardly, Ajia scratched her upper lip, brushing over her marilyn monroe piercing, making sure nothing was stuck on it. Nope, nothing. She cleared her throat and took a deep breath hoping to put a jump start into her attitude.
He asked rather bluntly if she's the new girl. She raised an eyebrow and laughed. "Well," she shrugged,"Relatively, yes, I supposed I am the new girl." Of course she's the new girl, she just didn't know if he knew enough people at the school to know for a fact who she was.
Ajia reached out and fixed the a wrinkle at the seam of her jeans. A few moments passed. Finally, Ajia looked up at Mordecai, "I'm sorry, but..." She took a deep breath hoping he wouldn't take this the wrong way, "Why are you sitting here all alone?"

Mordecai felt ridiculous just looking at the girl. She chuckled at his question hopefully in a good way. Mordecai was quite startled though by her next question."Why are you sitting alone?". Mordecai had to ask that to himself why was he sitting alone?Mordecai looked the girl up again. He had to think. "Well I kind of uh don't have many other people to hang out with they go their way and I kind go my way you know?"He couldn't think of much else to say about it. Mordecai channeled all his focus to not stutter. This girl was totally throwing him for a total loop. She was way different than the other girls. Most wouldn't have came up to him in the first place. He felt almost rude. He hoped he had not upset her in any way. Where else had he seen her. Was she one of the girls who hung out in front school. Maybe she was just one of the people with familiar faces.Have we met before? What grade are you in? Mordecai now, was trying to make small talk he was not very good when talking to girls but he thought he should at least try with this girl.

Ajia nodded in an understanding manner. She didn't want to press on in that subject. The fact that he was talking to her and wasn't as awkward as she thought he would be is totally a plus for him. She can definitely work on this guy. Ajia smiled.
"Oh, I'm actually a senior so I don't know if you've seen me before," Ajia shrugged, "I actually haven't seen you too much, I think just during passing." Ajia scrunched up her nose and thought for a bit, "But maybe I can see you more often from now on. You're a junior right?" Ajia gaved him a reassuring smile expressing her interest. Almost forgetting that lunch was a time to eat as well as socialize, Ajia reached in her small back and pulled out a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. "Want some?" She held it up to his face.

Ajia's smile was almost reassuring, She offered him a sandwich. The offer made Mordecai grin, Why not? "Sure"Ajia tore the sandwich in half and gave Mordecai one half. Together they munched on the sandwich. So how do you like Lipton so far? asked Mordecai around a mouthful of peanut butter and jelly not many people came to Lipton. Mordecai knew what being the new kid was like and it usually was not to fun. Seeing the differences between the two though you never knew."And what do you think about this school so far" Mordecais first day had been full of learning who to not mess with, and other things like to look down and to not run into anyone and mapping out where different people stopped in the hall or turned around and such things. They had both finished there half of the sandwich and now Mordecai was wiping off the crumbs.

Ajia tored the sandwich in half and gave it to Mordecai. Almost too willingly he took the piece and muched on it. Ajia laughed as he talked with his mouth full. "Uhh," she giggled, "I actually kind of like it here," she said with a smile. Ajia just loves meeting new people, she loves to party, but she's also focused on her school work, which gives her two strong likeable traits for people to appreciate about her.
"I like the school." She stuffed the last bite in her mouth and swallowed it, "There's a lot of nice people." Ajia's eyes widened as her own voice reached her ears. By the way he talks about the school and people, he probably doesn't share the same opinion as her about the other students at the school. She smiled at him again and tried to change the subject's focus to him. "How about you? Do you like the school?" Ajia mentally slapped herself. She probably shouldn't have asked that either. Boy, her brain seems to be taking a vacation today.

Mordecai couldn't say he wasn't shocked to hear that she liked Lipton and the high school. Once again though, they were almost opposites.Ajia asked him the same question back but Mordecai couldn't think of a answer that wasn't negative,So he shrugged his shoulders and answered with "Eh its good enough I guess. Its not like my old school the people are kind of different." Mordecai looked back at his watch. It had only been a little over ten minutes. What happened to time flies when your having fun? Mordecai chuckled. He looked about and saw a a couple kissing over on the benches he rolled his eyes in disgust and looked back at Ajia. She looked older than most people like she had lived longer mentally than most. Most of all though she looked like a party girl, hopefully no one his dad would pick up on a random night. Hm His dad.. Mordecai could practically change in recognition. His dad had called and told him to call when he had his lunch break. Even though Mordecai hated to talk to his dad he hated even more the verbal abuse he would get if he did not. Mordecai dug his phone out of his pocket and checked to see if there was any missed call. There was in fact two missed call's both from his father Mordecai decided that his life was more important took a stand and turned his phone off.

The weather was actually nice for a change. Something Ajia can definitely appreciate. Her mood usually mirrors the weather. If it's a nice like this, Ajia loves to be outside and hang out, explore, go on an adventure. If it was a cold gloomy day, she'd rather stay in and become a couch potato.
"Eh its good enough I guess. Its not like my old school the people are kind of different."
Ajia nodded. She noticed Mordecai's eyes going adrift and she only followed him suit to find him staring at a couple kissing. Almost at the same time, Ajia's and Mordecai's face made the same disgusted face. Ajia had no problem with public displays of affection, but come on people, have some class. A few moments passed before Ajia gave a small gasp.
Ajia didn't realize it till now that Mordecai was a new kid too, "Oh! So you're a newbie too?!" She was a little too excited. "Tell me about your old school." but Ajia caught herself and quickly followed with a, "only if you want to." She smiled at him, but quickly the smile vanished as she watched Mordecai look at his phone. He had two missed calls from his dad, but he simply turned his phone off. Ajia frowned. "Is everything alright?"

Mordecai opened his mouth to respond to Ajia about his old school and then she dropped a total bomb on him Is everything alright? No, no it was not but Mordecai didn't feel comfortable enough to answer that question truthfully so he had to think of a quick lie. Sadly enough, Mordecai was almost a master at this after skipping class and everything that went one with his dad. "Ya I just didn't want my phone to die before I walk home later." What a pitiful lie, but Aijia seemed to buy it. Or at least act like she did.
There was no way he could tell the truth but there was honesty in his words, his phone was almost dead and he did have to walk home today. Mordecai only walked home on days when his dad decided to jack his car but Mordecai liked the walk it gave him time to clear his head and he didn't have to get home as fast. Not only that but the library was on the road he took to get home if Mordecai decided not to take a cross again the park to the river. The library and the river were his two sanctuaries places he went to forget everything. The river was were he and his dad had fished before his father had became a drunk. The library had almost every book Mordecai could want and it was warmer and way safer than his own house.Mordecai spent many afternoons there. He knew all of the librarians by name and stayed there until it closed on most nights. Mordecai mentally pulled himself together and looked back at the girl.
